{{Review|[[User:Total.Absolution|Total Absolution]]| A nimble and fast Very Heavy Fighter, the Virage is one of the fastest Fighters that can still mount four class 10 weapons. But it does come at a price, as you can see. The armor rating for this little thing is ''The'' lowest in the Very Heavy Fighter class. ( Ignoring the Manta and the Anubis, as they are just Heavy Fighters in every sense ) Not only that, it isn't exactly small. You'll find that jousting with this is a very bad idea, as you can be shotgunned quite easily. It also has a rather pitiful powercore, and a tiny cargo, coupled with a low number of Nanobots/Shield Batteries. However that doesn't mean that this ship is useless, cause it certainly isn't. Against its main market opponent, the Eagle, the Eagle has the edge in my opinion. Despite the rather odd looking texture job though, and it's more well rounded big brother, this ship can still be excellent at recon, however I'm afraid it just doesn't have that feel of a Heavy Fighter, or a Very Heavy Fighter. So in a sense, the Virage is sort of like a hybrid that didn't exactly work out.  }}

Originally designed to be a civilian bomber the early model Virages achieved little success on the open market, rumours of shoddy manufacturing were rife, and the original company that designed and produced this ship faded into obscurity as fast as they had appeared.

The Zoners bought the design patents for a pittance and placed some of their finest design teams on the project, however even these were stumped as to what to use the Virage for. Eventually a new ship designer made a suggestion that would change the Virage's purpose.

The Virage was stripped of its torpedo hardpoints and superlative powerplant, then modified to become a cheap and efficient Very Heavy Fighter, in this configuration it proved popular amongst Mercenaries operating within the Border and Edge worlds, ensuring a healthy profit for the Zoners.
