Forgive me for being a bit of a diehard when it comes to these things, but the only FTL travel available (bar any new technology developed post-discovery and pre-this alt universe) are Jumpgates (and equivalent ship-based systems) and Tradelanes. Forgive me for being a bit of a diehard when it comes to these things, but the only FTL travel available (bar any new technology developed post-discovery and pre-this alt universe) are Jumpgates (and equivalent ship-based systems) and Tradelanes. Cruise engines (which is what I presume you speak of here) are nowhere close to superliminal speeds.
