The mission of The Angels is to actively serve new players of Freelancer Discovery by providing education, advice, and material support in order to improve the roleplay, enjoyment, and growth of the Freelancer community.
They were first founded by Caylith, then an Administrator, in April 2006 as an official faction whose goal was to help new players. The leadership eventually fell to Dusty Lens, who in March 2009, cast down all the Angels due to what was perceived to be general inactivity within the circle. The only exceptions were that of Seth Karlo and Hastings. During that time, new Angels happened to come into existence. Some old Angels also saw the light once again, and were welcomed into the fold.
Eventually, as Dusty Lens tired and moved closer to status as a Seraphim, he ascended higher leaving the fold behind. A new Angel then became the first among equals. His name was Sassafras. Under him many new protocols were made and membership increased, but at a slower rate. Eventually, Sassafras decided to take a journey of discovery, and he too left the fold in the hands of another.
Bear, one of the newest Angels inherited the reins. Bear made use of the message dump compulsory and increased the activity of the Angels. His actions were noted, and soon enough, he too, like the leader before him moved closer to the status as a Seraphim. But this one did not leave the fold, for his burning bright wings still turned the winds before the Angels.
n00bl3t, one of the oldest who came and went as required, took the lead, listening to those above him to guide him in his task. However, another task required his urgent attention in the far reaches and so he took his leave to return one day.
A relatively new member of the fold, Kazinsal, took the leading position of the group in his stead, and paid heed to those higher in ascension to guide him in his keeping the peace.
With Kazinsal's flight to help others on another plane, n00bl3t once again took the reigns, trimming some wings and gifting the feathers to others. His plight came to end, and he retreated into the shadows once again, to make way for Dejavu.

So peaceful, in fact, that his second command, Space, has been leading it the last half year.
