The Sirius Racing Syndicate
Organization History
The Sirius Racing Syndicate started on Manhattan in 790 A.S. It was a private group, created by friends and colleagues who had a need for speed. The organization started out by hosting bike races on Manhattan, and eventually progressed through cars, hoverbikes, and many more other classes. The group's main goal was to promote a more dangerous way of racing, a way that has more thrill, set aside from the boring legal track races. The SRS then began hosting underground racing events, in an effort to attract more attention. The move paid off. They were starting to become widely known as the most popular underground race hosters. The Sirius Racing Syndicate is still a legal organization, due to the fact that they still hold sponsored track races.
In the year 810, the Sirius Racing Syndicate, now a large corporation handling investments into all types of racing all over Manhattan, decided to bring their business to other worlds. The move, once again, paid off. Though, not as widely recognized in space as in Manhattan, the SRS are becoming a very visible figure in Liberty race scene, and are gaining popularity in space. The SRS has leased the Connecticut racing tracks on ocassion for their races.
Striving for more involvement in the racing scene, the SRS have recently made a team of their own, consisting of elite racers. Undergoing rigorous training exercises, the SRS team is truly the standard team. Inductions into the SRS racing team are handled by the SRS Race Organizers.
Official Race Tracks
There are currently 2 official race ring tracks, one in Dublin, and the other in Connecticut.
[color=#FFFFFF]Unofficial Race Tracks
The dangerous mine race track found at Blue Station in Connecticut, where most often Black Races are held, as well as the occassional Transport Race.
Race Types
The Sirius Racing Syndicate sponsor many different types of races in space. Legal races and, not so legal ones. Listed below are several race types that the SRS sponsor.
[color=#FFFFFF]Ring Races (Legal)
There are legal race courses in Connecticut and Dublin. The objective of the race is to pass through all the rings for a specified number of laps. First one to finish the laps is the winner.
Open Space Racing (Illegal)
These races span one system. The SRS will set up a referee at the starting line and the finish line. The finish line will be specified at a certain sector. At the signal, the racers must then head toward that sector and pass the finish line referee. No trade lanes are allowed in this type of race.
Sector Racing (Illegal)
We station several people at certain sectors in a certain system. Around a particular bend, persay. The racers have to all pass his line of vision to be considered still in the race, since, his position would be like a nav bouy that the water racers use. This is similar to Open Space races, but longer.
Sprint Racing (Illegal)
All participants wait in line at a specified point. The destination, where we will have a referee stay, will be the finish line. Choose any route you want, just get to that specified planet or station first. The referee will keep an eye on the station or planet, and will watch who docks the first. This may span several systems.
Rally Racing (Illegal)
Each team holds a certain item in their hold. There will be several team members stationed at certain progressing parts of the race. When the race begins, the objective is to reach your next teammate, and hand him the item, and so on and so forth, until you reach the last teammate, who then proceeds to a certain planet, or station, and docks there, where we will have a referee stationed. The maximum amount of racers per team on track is 3.
Team Races
Team races willl consist of 3 racers per team. The goal is to score as many points for your team as possible. Each finish position will grant each racer a certain amount of points. At the end of the race, the team with the most points wins.
|1st place: 10 points
|2nd place: 9 points
|3rd place: 8 points
|4th place: 7 points
|5th place: 6 points
|6th place: 5 points
|7th place: 4 points
|8th place: 3 points
|9th place: 2 points
|10th place: 1 point
Follow the Leader (Legal/Illegal)
All racers must line up and follow the leader, doing every move he or she does. If you crash or die, you are out of the race. If the leader dies, all surviving racers win. It is the leader's job to get everyone else killed. There is still much speculation going on as how to implement this style.
Race Participation
[color=#FFFFFF]Entrance Fee
There will be an entrance fee for some of the races, most notably the Ring Races. All participants are required to give their entrance fees to the race referee, who will hold it until the end of the race. Entrance fees can range from as low as 50k credits, to as high as 500k credits, depending on the size of the event.
Prizes
In large events, the SRS may decide to put a special piece of equipment as the prize, say, an ARCHANGEL Codename weapons, alongside a cash prize. For smaller events, all the participant's entrance fees will be forwarded to the winner of the race, as well as an extra amount of credits from the Sirius Racing Syndicate, as well as smaller consolation prize for the runner-up. In the event that no one wins the race, half the money will be refunded to the participants, and the other half will be kept by the SRS to cover the organizing of the event.
Race Rules
[color=#FFFFFF]Blue Race
The most basic type of race rule. No bumping or any other dirty trick is allowed, shooting as well is not allowed. Should a racer get caught doing so in a race, the said racer will be disqualified. Objective is to finish the races in the highest position as possible.
Yellow Race
The next level. Bumping is allowed, and won't get you disqualified. However, no weapons fire is allowed.
Red Race
Almost there. Weapons fire is allowed, to an extent, CDs are allowed. Bumping is allowed.
Black Race
The most chaotic race rule of all. Anything goes. Fire CDs, torp your opponent, mine him to death, blow him up, whatever you want to do to make him never see the finish line.

Challenges
Initiating a challenge
When you see another person whom you wish to challenge to a custom race, where you set the rules, you fly in front of him, and fire a large amount of CMs, which act as a flare, and is the universally recognized sign of a racer challenging another racer. After firing a large amount of CMs, proceed to privately message person you wish to challenge, stating your intentions.
Accepting a challenge
After seeing the challenger fire his CMs in front of you, you may either wait for the challenger to message you first, challenging you to a race, or you may take the initiative, and respond.
Starting and finishing a race challenge
After both parties have agreed to a race, the challenger and the challenged must agree on a destination, and place a bet for themselves. On the challenged count, the racers will then proceed to reach the agreed destination. Avoid the local police forces and reach the destination. The loser must then pay the winner the agreed amount of cash.
Registration
You can register to be a participant in our races here at the Sirius Racing Syndicate Registration Board.
This will be referred to by the SRS officials during race events to see who are allowed to race during the events.
Note: Only registered racers may participate in our races.
[color=#FFFFFF]SRS' role in the races
Legal Races
The SRS will handle the financing of the events, and the SRS team will handle all aspects of the races, the referees and such. During these legal races, the SRS may or may not deploy their own racing team to participate in such races.
Illegal Races
The SRS team may finance some of these races, and handle all the paperwork, but, the SRS will not openly engage in the races. The SRS Organizers may set up referees to handle the starting of the race, but, that's all, lest the local police force see any SRS member engaging in these illegal races. The SRS referee may fly in front of the racers, and slowly release 3 CMs. Each CM represents a number. The 3rd CM signals for the race to begin.
A personal note from SRS Race Organizer - Christian Klein
"Racing has always captured the minds of many people, all over the universe. Man's need for an adrenaline rush has always come through prominently, and, speed is one of those things that provide man with the thrill he seeks. We here at the Sirius Racing Syndicate hope to provide you with races that are both enjoyable, and profitable. We offer wonderful events and prizes, which we hope will promote this art form, and to help many others realize the magnificence of this sport. We hope that you enjoy our races, and, improve your skills as a racer, and pilot."
"Sincerely, Christian Klein."
