Good Evening Sir or Ma'am,

Recent changes in the political environment in Sirius have prompted Orbital Spa and Cruise to reevaluate the security of our operations, both passenger transport and conventional cargo. The same degree of isolation that provides our passengers with an experience unmatched in the colonies also comes with a similarly unmatched degree of risk. The locations we visit are often remote, and just as often dangerous. While our liners were once capable of defending themselves from any foreseeable attack, the evolution of weapons - and their continual trickle into hands that point them at our passengers - means that the Enterprise class no longer offers the protection it once did.

Consequently, we're investigating the possibility of expanding our Security Division with the addition of two Defiant class gunboats to ensure the security of our convoys in the distant, dangerous corners of Sirius. The Defiant class provides a level of independence unmatched by the civilian-grade Condor, lessening the strain placed on passenger vessels by the need to support their escorts. Further, it's my understanding that the Defiant's components are better suited to travel through the unusual environment we can run across in the Edge Worlds then the lane-bred systems of the Condor.

However, the information I have access to on the exact specifications of the Defiant class is more then a little incomplete. It's difficult for me to make a case to the Board of Directors for acquisition without being able to explain exactly what it is that makes the Defiant the better boat. I'm not about to stick my hand up and ask for classified information on how the ship goes together, but any details you could provide me with would be a tremendous help. Assuming, of course, that the Navy would be amicable to such an exchange.

Thank you for your time.

Tyler out.

Greetings, Miss Tyler.

The "Defiant" class Liberty Gunboat is indeed quite the vessel. It's agility and ability to sustain fire from all guns nearly indefinitely make it a fearsome vessel in the right hands.

With that said, the Liberty Navy is not in a position to loan or lease any of our currently operational vessels for civilian use. You may however enquire of the Liberty Surplus Requistion Center for any decommissioned variants. Note that the Republic of Liberty usually only grants such requests if they advance the interests of Liberty.

Good Evening Sir,

Thank you for your response Admiral. I was actually hoping to secure clearance to access specifications on the Defiant class, or at least the decommissioned variant that may be offered for civilian use. While I'm keen to get hold of one of those boats, it's difficult to make an informed decision without the relevant performance data. If you're able to extend that clearance, it would make securing support from the board a lot easier on my end.

Greetings, Miss Tyler.

Apologies for the delay in response to your enquiry, but other priorities had taken precedence. Unfortunately, with that said, there's not a lot I can provide you above what I previously mentioned. The schematics and performance data for the "Defiant" class gunboat are not publicly available information for good reason. I'm sorry that I cannot be more informative on the subject.

Admiral Polstari, signing off.

Good Evening Admiral,

The delay isn't a problem. I understand defense can be time-intensive. With that said, without that information there'll be little cause for the board to pursue this acquisition any further. Procurement of vessels on that scale simply represents too large a commitment for us to go in blind. I'm curious as to how the Republic managed to find buyers in the past willing to go ahead with such little information.

Thanks regardless, Admiral. I won't waste more of your time.

Tyler out.
