The Fisherman is seen with his tobacco pipe, paying attention to the docks, where people were unloading the catch of the day to be transported to the markets, still couple of hours before dawn reached that part of Junyo.
He turns to the recorder, with his face showing some concern, from his workers, and from his own thoughts.
Konnichiwa, I guess an early morning report is as good as a late evening one. Work planetside has been stable after the last typhoon grounded one of our heaviest sea vessels inland. Took a while to put it back in water and repair the dented hull.
In other news, some more shipments to
Junyo were concluded.
------
I think... two days ago, I went again to deliver some supplies to some clients who are connoisseurs of good Kusari quality, in the Tau-29 system. After making my delivery of sake, I went to
Shinkaku Station to prepare a shipment of
HydroGro for
Planet Miyazaki, and loaded my transport full with the cargo.
I must say the odor they put on the package to shield the more sensitive noses from the product makes an odd mixture with the seawater scent of my ship. A truly unusual combination.
I delivered the fertilizer on
Tokai and headed back with some
Kyushu rice for a second go. On my way, I stopped at
Freeport 6 for a break and some chatter.
While talking with a business manager there,
a news report aired on the panels of the nearby bar. At first I thought it was just business as usual, and merry wanderers of the Far Omicrons getting themselves in trouble. But then I realized that the appearance of the
Order and their inquisitors was "unusual" for the zoners in question, so that led me to suspect that it wasn't happening there, or in the Omegas.
Asking my partner in conversation, I was informed that the Baffin system was "right next door" to Tau-29, and that the
zoners had some settlements there.
With curiosity, I payed for a star chart of the system, and headed to Baffin with my load of
Rice.
Upon arriving in Baffin, I headed to
Shasta Orbital Skyhook, the primary installation of the system, and source of the events in the mentioned news.
Unfortunately, I did not meet any
zoners outside of the station. There were only some freelancer mercenaries, a very "eclectic" bunch, as a friend of mine would say.
Some
Colonial pilot passed by on his patrol too. Don't trust those guys to keep their fingers off the trigger very much, but this one at least seemed entertained with his duties, and did not make trouble near the freelancers.
I did docked at the station, but the
zoners didn't feel like a very good potential customer, at least for regular business. They did have some unusual
talismans for sale, produced from a place of worship by the populace of the system. I did buy a few to take home and show to person well versed on such stuff.
Next, I went to another passage in my starchart, and ended up in another system called Coronado. There was a freelancer station there, with a few ships in its vicinity. Met up a reasonable artifacts dealer established in the station, but later findings made me aware that this region is too cosy for the
Colonials and
Junkers.
Found a planetary system outside of the clouds of the Barrier, with an
IMG surface outpost in one of them. However, they weren't keen on letting me come to land, because of some unsavory transmissions from the far side of the planet warning me to stay away from the area...
I asked one of the freelancers in the so called
Barrier Gate Station, and they led me to a jumphole to the Cortez system, on the western border of Liberty.
It is quite an impressive passageway, and I'm almost certain now that it is one of the reasons why the
Junkers have been pressuring less our territory, but increasing their presence in the Tau systems.
At
Curacao, I sold my
rice and bought a shipment of
tea. Met an interesting resident, and saw several
Junker ships passing by to and from Bretonia. They were no doubt weary of my presence there, but none of them wished to stay longer than they needed.
Headed to Kusari on the normal Liberty route, and delivered the
Tea in Kusari, at the
Golden Dragon.
-----------------
I've met up with
Taiga Arai-san and
Shino Kato-san and assembled a convoy of Junyo Pearls heading for
Planet Baden Baden in Stuttgart.
On our way we've met a
IC|Mercana.Shirou , which claimed he was a leading figure of
Interspace Commerce. I was skeptic about this, but I checked some
info on their networks, and it turns out he really is a bossman of the corporation.
Not that I had much time to inquire and take advantage of this finding, since
Arai decided that this was not a good sign but rather that
Shirou-san was a corporate goon of the foreign corporation.
The end result, I am almost certain that
IC, and specially
Shirou-san, has not received a particularly good first impression from our company, and I may need to amend that sometime soon.
On our way to Frankfurt, quickly gliding through the dangerous
GMG installations in sigma-13, another surprise was awaiting for us.
While we could handle having those two dens of evil in our path,
I wasn't expecting the third one.
Apparently, neither the Rheinlanders were keen on having such trash near the Frankfurt gate, and had a Battleship watching over the eyesore.
I lodged my protest to the Rheinland captain about the hazard the base was, and moved on when the convoy was whole again.
We arrived at
Baden Baden without trouble, sold our good cargo, and loaded with
drill bits at
Freiburg for the return trip.
Back at Sigma-13, the
Rheinlander forces had somehow called for aid from the
KNF, and were in the process of locking down the installation, with protests from the first
Gas Miners on the scene in the background.
We left the area and delivered the
drill bits, before the
GMG could come and make trouble for us too.
I heard later on that those dammed gas farters managed to scare away the law enforcement, and keep the station operational until today.
That thing will mean trouble in the future, I'm certain of it.
-------------
The next day, I went again to Tau-29 to pick up some
HydroGro for shipping. However I decided to mix up some of the routes and see what I could come up with.
Headed to
New Berlin, and had the opportunity to see again these hellspawned contraption near Frankfurt gate, which they called
Maebashi Border Station... the nerve, mimicking the Kusari and Rheinland righteous watchers of the domain edges.
Having sold the good product in
New Berlin, I headed to
the Ring and requested a
"special batch" to be loaded, for delivery in the Omicrons.
Loaded up and with no one to give me trouble in the vicinity, I headed to Omicron Delta, where the
Black market munitions were sold to the eager Corsairs at Yaren base.
Got some
artifacts back, and headed to Kusari, passing by sigma-19 this time, don't really remember why. The different course revealed another surprise, as the GMG have expanded in
Ogashawa, making another annex to the station.
Seems this new Noburo annex is still unarmored unlike the rest of the installation, so I wonder if some sort of strike could slow down this unruly expansion of the
GMG.
I have to make some contacts about this, cannot leave this go on much longer.
Stand vigilant, my comrades. The enemies of Kusari are tightening their siege.
