Lately, I've been considering the current political situation in Bretonia, and noticed that we don't have a Bowex faction. Considering that they factor in rather prominently, this seemed like a bit of an oversight. Fortunately, the good Captain is here to try and correct that oversight. First, though, I wanted to sound off on the forums and see if anyone was interested.

The following is an excerpt from my faction draft, and should pretty well explain what Bowex is about, for those who don't already know. For the introduction, I drew off information from infocards and rumors in game, as well as the faction status posts for both the BAF and Gateway Interstellar.

Introduction
Serving Bretonia since 66 AS, Border World Exports, commonly know as Bowex, is the single oldest shipping conglomerate in all of Sirius. Bowex has been the backbone of the Bretonian economy for centuries, and has been involved in nearly every major event in Bretonian history.

In 310 AS, Bowex received it's Royal Charter from Prince Harry XXI, and has since been the sole supplier of material to the Bretonian Government in general, and the Bretonian Armed Forces in particular. Border World Exports has since been nationalized, along with BMM, and now functions as a part of the Bretonian Government. The nationalization of these two companies have historically increased the prosperity of the Bretonian public in comparison to the other Houses by reducing the strain placed on the public in the form of defense taxes.

Since 791 AS, Bowex has faced new and fierce competition from Gateway Interstellar. Despite Bowex's best efforts, both in space and in the halls of Parliament, Gateway Interstellar has continued to grow and cut into Bowex's profits. Whether Gateway's well known association with the now illegal Populist Party will benefit Bowex or not remains to be seen.

OOC Decription of Activites
We will primarily concern ourselves with trade, both within Bretonia, and with the other houses (Kusari excepted, of course). Security division members will be mainly responsible for insuring the safety of Bowex transports, but may engage in Lane security if not already on escort duty.

If anyone is interested in this, please PM me, and I'll send you the full faction draft.

Wait a minute..Bowex..border world exports....Bretonian......

Does this mean the border world transport, Sabre and Falcata are made by a lawful Bretonian House corporation? Or are they a different Border Worlds something or other?

No, the Borderworld line of ships are not made by Bowex, nor by any other Bretonian firm, so far as I know. In fact, the Borderworld line isn't even on the ship list in my faction draft.
Note that Princes don't get numbers after their names, only monarchs.

Also, it would be 'Harold', as opposed to the familiar 'Harry'.

;)
It sounds interesting. I am interested.

(I do not think you intend to be system owning either.)

Hijack: Has anyone seen Gateway) on recently, because I haven't?
Not a bad start mate. Keep at it, you might have a rival for IND of the IC firm.

Yep, we've been on, just in smaller numbers. Our recruiting has picked up recently, though.

When it comes to that little nitpick, talk to the people who wrote the infocard for Glasgow outpost, since I ripped that part directly from it.

Of course, I agree with you on that, but I didn't make up the info, so I'm stuck with it.:P

Why does the official website of the British Monarchy call Prince Harry Prince Harry?

Just trying to understand.
