Takarabune Project E001: Ebisu's Harvest
Designated handler: Takarabune Marine and Shipping Company
Project Leader: Chief Supervisor "The Fisherman"; Takarabune M&S Co. Research Department.

Summary: Research and implementation of advanced growth techniques of Junyo Oyster specimens.
Status: Active

Phase 1: Specimen Biological Analisys: [Complete]
Phase 2: Chemical Manipulation Testing: [Complete]
Phase 3: Closed Environment Control Experiments: [Complete]
Phase 4: Open Sea Environment Testing: [Ongoing]
Phase 5: Full implementation [Pending]

Research Notes:

With 2 years of ongoing development since the the foundation of our company, we have already achieved good results on the growth of the Oyster specimens. The research facilities provided by Samura on Junyo are well equipped, and close to our company production sites, allowing us a steady and on the hour management of the experiments on the field.

Small genome manipulation of the common brand of Junyo white oysters has increased it's growth rate by 30%, with maturity being achieved in 10 months instead of the common 13 months of the species. More experiments involving the use of Alien Organisms have ensured the health of the subjects with low incidences of growth anomalies. We have been introducing the new batches of white oysters to the food markets, and so far there has been no complains or negative feedback in comparison to per-experimental batches.

In regards of Junyo Fire Pearl Oysters, the effects have been visible on the subject production rate of the pearl. At normal environmental conditions, the Fire Pearl Oyster can produce up to 4 high grade pearls over their average 5 year lifespan. Test results have managed to increase the average lifespan to about 6.5 years, and the pearl per oyster ration to 5.
Project leader has so far only authorized these experiments in laboratory and closed environment sites, and has requested more testing before expanding to open water production sites.

3rd Subject experiment on Capiz Oysters has revealed interesting results. According to controlled environment experiments, we have managed to regulate the shell thickness and size. This may prove important to experiments on oyster/pearl derived materials, namely project Benzaiten Shroud.

Research Notes:

We are still many decades away from achieving the final goals of this project, but progress so far has shown that there is great potential in the application of the qualities of pearls in the production of optical deceiving materials.

So far we have been able to test some variations of coating materials that help reduce electronically signature of vehicles and ships. This goes in line with similar experiments done by the military in the past, and we have almost reached the same level of efficiency has reported on few covert ops vessels in use by the Kempeitai that we have been able to register. However, this new coating material suffer from sever efficiency drops with any structural damage to the vehicle or ship, and the results still sub par to energy consuming, active field generating Cloaking generators that some organizations employ.

We intend to use the natural materials properties with shape memory alloys and textiles, together with an small electrical impulse system made of nanotubes to manipulate the phases of the material. Once we are successful in both hard and soft materials, project will be split into two fields of human based-applications and equipment based applications.

--------------

In the Section A: Human Field Equipment - a.k.a. [Project Silk] - the end goal will be the development and production of low energy Stealth Suits for covert operations by allied agencies and organizations, and the development of Combat variants for warfare operations. Products have received the project codename "Monk Blue" and "Hermit Purple" respectively.

In Section B: [Mechanical/Vehicle Field Equipment - a.k.a. [Project Veil] - the same concept will be attempted on planetary vehicles and mobile weapon platforms, and experiments on space based vehicles will be done in the latter phases. The research team hopes to obtain an Advanced Passive Camouflage System (APCS - Codename "Veil"), in the next 10 to 15 years, pending on technological progresses in other fields of research.

Finally, Section C: Multi-phase Stealth Variant - [Project Shroud] - will be activated when we advance well enough in the development of the "Veil" equipment, and attempt to integrate it with existing advanced cloak field generators. The proposed end result would be a modular passive/active stealth module for existing ships, and the creation of a "Shroud" native vessel, with the full capabilities integrated in it's design.

------------------

For the success and secrecy of the project, individual projects of the Benzaiten Shroud beyond the initial phase 3 will require specialized and secure research facilities, which we currently don't possess. Chief Supervisor and the Board of Patron of the Conglomerate have suggested contacts with Kempeitai and the Kusari Naval Forces for collaboration and installation procurement, as they are the likely clients of these Research outcome.

Parts of the Research can probably allocated to labs in Kansai or Nansei, depending of collaboration by Kempeitai and Kusari Army Branch agencies. An alternative proposed was to be considered on the Sakurajima Complex File.

Takarabune Project B003: Bishamon Retainer
Designated handler: Awa R&D Company
Project Leader: Chief Supervisor "The Fisherman"; Awa R&D Company Director

Summary: Development and Production of a Remotely Operated Combat Android
Status: Active

Phase I: Current Robotics Research and Evaluation [Ongoing]
Phase II: Construction of combat able model [Pending]
Phase III: Development of Operation Software, Security systems [Pending]
Phase IV: Prototype testing [Pending]
Phase V: Assembly and Production [Pending]

Research Notes:

Research in the field of Robotics, while being one of the stated goals of Awa R&D Company is still lagging behind in comparison with other entities from abroad. We must recruit more specialists and product samples from abroad, from the cheap Omega variants to the hight tech models from Gallia.

Next, we will test several concepts and designs for combat models, both humanoid and non humanoid. Focus will be on mobility, adaptation to urban and human made scenarios, and ease of control trough remote uplinks.

In parallel, we will develop the software and control schemes for operating the robots from a distance, either in from a mobile vehicle station, a control center, or a deployed control station in the field. Security measure to ensure the reliabilty of the signal and feedback, as well as anti hacking measures from the opposing or 3rd parties during the operations.

Finally, we hope to have some "field testing" that would ensure the fine tuning of the concept, and handle any large flaws that appear before we commit to production of the model.

Should we be successful, we would have a product that would bolster small assault operations, and would benefit our organization in combat skirmishes where we cannot afford to spend too much manpower.

We have to check the possible legal implications of the project, and it's possible that the production would require the conditions of secrecy and security. See [Sakurajima Complex] file for a possible Solution.

Takarabune Project B004: Sakurajima Complex
Designated handler: Iyo Construction and Engineering
Project Leader: Chief Supervisor "The Fisherman"; Iyo Construction and Engineering Company Director

Summary: Construction of an autonomous research and production facility for special projects.
Status: Active

Phase I: Construction Sight survey [Ongoing]
Phase II: Construction of settling module [Pending]
Phase III: Expansion of research facilites [Pending]
Phase IV: First Phase Migration of Projects [Pending]
Phase V: Assembly and Production Facility deployment
Phase VI: 2nd Phase Migration of Projects [Pending]

Project Notes:

Sakurajima Complex has been envisioned by the Takarabune Conglomerate has the needed solution for the various research and development projects that the Conglomerate wishes to conduct, out of sight from the eyes of the competition, the law forces of Kusari, and even from our partners themselves, should it be necessary.

Initial plans dictated the construction of a planetary encampment on planet Nakatsu, in the Oita system, on the farside of the planet, and counting with a covert collaboration from authorities from Osumi base. This land site was discarded after rumors that Osumi base days might suffer a not so far end in that system.

Planners attention turned to the equally remote Tottori system, mainly because of the may settled Hogosha installations already in the sector, and the low traffic of civilian vessels, mostly from our Sammura partners.

Survey teams are been sent to Suzuka station and will give priority to the western part of the system. The Tojimbo Ice field, Planet Izushi orbit, and Yurasu field are the best candidates.
