Hello pilots, traders and explorers!

there are many companies that ship goods through-out Sirius and you all know them, maybe worked with them. While working for them has a lot of advantages, there are 2 specific disadvantages:

1. they are always tied to a house
2. they do not ship in the Edge Worlds, at least not regulary

Therefor, i founded the Hanseatic League, a group of independent sirian-wide traders.
We are, of course, only a few, but i was hoping that i might caught your interest.
I have a pretty thought-through idea about this enterprise and where it will be going, but first i wanted to hear if anyone might have interest and questions!

So, if you are interested, leave a short message below.

Thank you for your attention!

// PS: New players are most welcome!!!

Edit: there are already 3 of us now!
1) ID / IFF ?

2) will you stick close to the historical "Hanse" , and found a oligarchic structure, or will you just take the name and freely adopt ?
By the way, there is a major shipping company active in the edge worlds : OSI

3) Diplomacy ? Friends and enemies ?

4) Goals, achievements you want to work towards ?

5) Ships used and shiplines ?
Hello FynnMcScrap,

thank you for your interest and your questions.

1) We will use Freelancer IDs with neutral IFF to as many factions as possible. Though this can be difficult, we will have some priorities, but this is something to be done.
For now, we have worked out some additional faction restrictions to the FL-ID: Pilots carrying the faction-tag are not allowed to fulfill a bounty or participate in hostile actions.
Exceptions:
- self-defense (// of course!)
- internal bounties
- taking a job as escort and being forced to defend
- engaging against well-known unlawful opposition to our goals
- Nomads and Wild will be treated as hostiles. Always.

2) Like our ancient predecessor, we want to get involved into world-wide sirian-wide trade and encourage others to participate*.
For the internal structure: This is something we have to work out in the future, but it is certain that we wont have a rank system. Instead, we will have a system of offices.
Any pilot can have multiple offices, some restrict exercising specific others, some are are free of that restriction.
As we grow larger, duties of the different offices will have a different priority. (// for example fighting bad guys will be more important then maintaining the armory).

Regarding OSI: I wasnt aware of that (//thank you!), but as Zoner faction they will have huge disadvantages regarding trade in house space.
But we can arrange contracts with them of course (// see 1st sentence*)

3) At the moment we plan to have a neutral-to-all attitude. Certain individuals will be treated as hostiles if they violate our installation rules or have taken hostile action against as.
To increase said installations security, we will have to negotiate a good relationship with at least one border/edge-world faction. We have a very specific agenda on this, which will remain secret for now.

4) I ll make a short list, first things first, last things last:

1. Establish at least one modular installation in Border-/Edge-world space, much like a Freeport. No factory modules, only modules for self-defense and storage.
This base will serve as our headquarter and is supposed to encourage Border-/Edge-World im- and export (by shortening the trade routes).
2. Organize internal sirian-wide trade convoys
3. Offering trade contracts and escorting services
4. RoI for ships and equipment
// 4. Earning credits is absolutly secondary. I have more then a billion credits in store for funding this and we will give away free ships and equipment if needed **.
// One of my personal and most important goals is to introduce new players to the mod+game. Therefor, those are most welcome!

Additional goals may come with time of course.

5) We will use mainly small Transport class ships (//3kers), fighters for escort and Pirate Trains. The use of Pirate Trains depends on the route and successful negotiations with the house authorities.
For the purpose of installation defense we will have some combat-ready bombers and gunboats. And of course diplomacy.

The choice of ship is yours. Any ID-compatible ship is permitted. **New members can either pick a free small-Transport-class vessel or bring in their own.
If someone decides to take his leave it would be nice if he/she could pass his faction-payed vessel behind for re-use. Though this decision is up to the pilot.

I'm looking forward to read your feedback.

Looks like someone was faster than me, as I was consindering such a faction - yet I thought that Hanzeatic League should use Zoner ID, due to more neutral status and multiple independent stations already in existence that do not form single government (like cities affiliated with real Hanzeatic League).
Zoner ID would also give you better cargo allowance :

Freelancer ends at 3600 cargo

For the rest :
As leader of another Freelance faction, feel welcome to ping me in Game / inForum if you want some interaction.

After all : we sell scrap, and buy lots of stuff.
And if you are interested in that angle : Tinkers offers MedEvac service from inner house ZoI to outer Border, just place a call.

// as i said above, we dont do this for the money, but for fun and RP. If i want to make money, i camp at Omega-11 C-5 for one night.
// And the Zoner ID has, in opinion, more drastic drawbacks that we do not want. Plus it would prevent us from being hired as escort.
// There are many more reasons, RP and practical, why the Freelancer ID is the way to go.

@ Fynn your offer has been noted
Back in ancient German times the Hanse was a federation of wealthy trade cities - that for the historical background.

Anyway, you really should get more familiar with all the RP going on here.
'Neutral to all' sounds pretty naive.

Just a heads up OSI has the unique bonus among Zoner groups of being able to dock 5ks in house space and inRP regularly trades to house space bringing supplies back with them that Zoner installations need. We are currently banned from Rheinland so if you wanted to make some sort of inRP deal with them that would be a good angle.

EDIT: Also HF might not be the best tag to use as it might get confused with the Hellfire Legion.
Loki why are you bringing up OSI in this context?
It's a rhetorical one by someone with a very long history.

Zoners doing deals between house space makes no sense at all.
Freelancers may fit this role but to be honest I'll would like to see more house company RP.

New ideas are always great but please choose a different name than Hanse.
