Tarxien's War Assets

Nearly a century of reconstruction and assembly of military and intelligence elements has perched the Crusaders of Tarxien in a sizable position of power and sway over Malta's political and military climates. Those listed here are the resources primarily available to the Cross.

Battlegroup Naxxar

Role: Heavy Reserve & Primary Command Fleet
Command: Quorum of Tarxien, Inquisitor Espinosa
Composition:

1 Ranseur Heavy Dreadnought
2 Sarissa Battleships
4 RM-2A Storta Light Destroyers
5 RM-1 Storta Destroyers
19 Tridente Heavy Escorts
Assorted Support and Light Craft

The Naxxar Battlegroup is comprised of several Sarissa and Storta-class warships that were left floating for a century around Vesuvius before being restored by the Armando-headed Cross between 804 - 819 AS. Centered around the Cross Flagship Naxxar, the Battlegroup primarily remains in close proximity to Omicron Alpha, maintaining a loose cloud of assorted warships near enough to the homeworld to protect it, but also spread out enough to help reinforce Malta's border defense fleets.

Notable Vessels: MNS-Naxxar, MNS-Mgarr, MNS-Los Fieles, MNS-Genoa

Battlegroup Victoria

Project "Lightspear"

Commanded by the twin Ranseur Dreadnoughts Victoria and Paola, Battlegroup Victoria is a fleet-in-being flotilla of numerous ships fresh off the production lines of Bastia and Corsica stationed across Maltese core territory. Though it makes up a majority presence of Tarxien's military assets, most of Battlegroup Victoria are either undergoing refits, or are still being outfitted and configured by their respective mooring locations.

Though it could technically be fielded in the event of an emergency, much of the Battlegroup lacks either the necessary equipment, crew, or armament to stay in any prolonged engagement. In addition, much of the command structure of the Victoria and her associate vessels have yet to be decided, with numerous candidates under review, but few presently instated. Furthermore: familial crews often move with their captains and this, compounded with staffing issues found across the Holy Order, has left numerous ships with only basic skeletal personnel aboard until such a time as staffing has been fully decided. This is beginning to see alleviation however, as recent recruitment booms for combat personnel have begun to turn out capable crew and officers.

A recent development within the Battlegroup has been an initiative known only as Project "Lightspear", and is rumored to be a large construction of some kind underway aboard Ibiza. Exact details or the nature of the project are classified to all except the highest levels the Inquisition, and a few choice allies brought in to assist with it's progress. The destroyer Ghar Dalam is currently moored to the station's primary production bay, half covered in shielded docking collars and improvised scaffolding to keep unwanted eyes and equipment from gleaming any information on the project. Near constant patrols from the nearby Battleship Vesuvius keep a very tight hold on any ships coming within proximity of the station.

Notable Vessels: MNS-Victoria, MNS-Paola, MNS-El.Furia, MNS-Valencia, MNS-Vesuvius, "Lightspear", MNS-Ghar Dalam

Battlegroup Mdina

Role: Heavy Reserve & Primary Command Fleet
Command: Inquisitor Venneri
Composition:

1 Sarissa Battleship
2 RM-2A Storta Light Destroyers
5 RM-1 Storta Destroyers
13 Tridente Heavy Escorts
Assorted Support and Light Craft

The frontline of defense for the Sigmas and Omicrons alike, Battlegroup Mdina could is often referred to as Malta's "Vanguard", acting as a mobile staging ground for numerous operations and a jumping-off point for deep incursions into enemy and neutral territory. What the Mdina lacks in sheer firepower it more than makes up for in speed and overwhelming numbers: standing as a training ground for some of Tarxien's newest initiates that have shown a signs of skill in piloting, as well as a front-line bulwark in the eastern fringes of Maltese territory.

Notable Vessels: MNS-Mdina
