I must say, this is a surprise indeed, and possibly even a welcome one. You are correct in assuming that the loss of the Syndicate has left little to do for myself and Ms. Cromwell. Still, that does not mean the two of us have been Idle. Zoe still spends a good amount of her time in space enforcing the Maltese law as she did for the syndicate. As for myself, I've been spending a little more time planet side at home, however, currently, I am sitting on Freeport 10 waiting for the dock crew to refuel my trade vessel.

This actually brings up an interesting topic regarding your issues with the local populous and how the Maltese in general perceive your organization. Your settlement, while attracting the Maltese workforce and providing well needed materials to the empire, lacks what My Father would call the comforts of home. MY family, or rather, what's left of it, being myself and my grandfather, own a small chain of general and clothing stores. we have a few of these locations around some of Malta's smaller towns and have long since been areas of interest for locals to find amenities that would otherwise be inaccessible to Malta as a whole. I myself am currently hauling a full load of video entertainment devices procured from Liberty.

If you were to provide your workforce with such amenities as well as the surrounding populous, I believe you would find yourself sitting in a much brighter light. The Maltese Empire isn't considered a house, thus we are unable to procure most luxuries houses such as Liberty and Bretonia have an abundance of.

You're reply was quite swift, something I like to see when it comes to business affairs. I must admit your offer comes as quite a surprise. Not only are you interested in employing myself and my Private Employee as you put it in reference to Zoe, but you are also looking to have me take up the position of dock manager on Catahenga. While I must admit I've never been in such a position before, I welcome the opportunity to do so. I would request, if possible, that a fighter docking platform be reserved for Zoe's ship, as I would prefer it that she be allowed the position of security pilot around the surrounding area of the shipyard as well as the neighboring systems. I do not wish to take that which she enjoys from her, as she is quite happy when running escort or security around the Maltese area.

As for your dislike of the term slaves and how they are treated, I to have a distaste for such things, Zoe included, hence why I treat her as any other person should be. On the subject of opening a reduced tax chain of my family's business in your settlement, I believe something can easily be worked out. I know the girls at the shop near my villa have been pestering me to find a location for a new store, they have told me that the revenue is enough to possibly open two more shops without issue. The girls I speak of are actually the ones in charge of my family's business, they are all ex indentured employees that once belonged to my father, god rest his ignorant soul. I granted them their freedom once he died and they were left to me as I did not feel comfortable keeping them under my ownership, as such, I allowed them to continue what they had been doing for so very long, running the shops and living normal lives.

Supplying the stores should not be that big of an issue either, from what I hear of your organization, you're traders are easily able to procure supplies and commodities most outcasts are unable to do so without holding a gun or risking their lives in one form or another.
