You hear three knocks at the door and a Middle aged man enters the office with an air of an individual completely devoted to military discipline. Tucked under his left arm are two separate folders that he sets squarely on your desk. The documents you asked for Admiral are his only words. A secretary from the joining office tells him that you will look over them and you dismiss the commander with a quick salute that he returns instantly and leaves.
The first Document is contained in a leather folder with gold letters adorning the top. *LABC Kearsarge, 1st battalion 12th FAS* A small red white and blue seal is seen at the lower left side of the document.

Inside is a readiness report of the ship and a brief history.

History: The Kearsarge was originally commissioned as the Yorktown at the start of its life. After 30 years of service she was decommissioned by the navy and sold for scrap at Baltimore Shipyard and subsequently bought by an influential family from Manhattan to be re-commissioned as a mercenary vessel running interdiction missions in the Sigmas. During this time she was hauled to California Minor and was given an upgrade package and modernized as much as was possible. After a few months of patrols she was called back to Liberty and re-commissioned by the Navy as the Kearsarge to assist in staving off Corsair and Order invasion fleets penetrating from the Alaska region. In one of these battles the host family was killed as they tried to escape the bombardment of Norfolk Shipyard. The Navy then took full possession of the vessel and left it under the Command of Commander Lawson until present time. She has been a part of the 1/12 Fast Attack Squadron ever since.

The second Folder is the summarized personal log of Commander Lawson.

Name: Lawson, Matthew
Rank: Commander
Unit: 1/12 FAS, Houston

As you skim through the history of the man, the first files you notice are ones from his cadet days. He scored highly on aptitude tests but had anger problems when members of his class would deviate from the strict military discipline of the academy. He was caught many times teaching them respect for the organization he seems to be a fanatic of. His first ship was the Yorktown just after its initial launch. He stayed with the ship till it was decommissioned. He was the master gunner at that point and was known to loath Outcasts and Corsairs with an undying hated that would make him rarely take prisoners. He retired with the Yorktown and was granted by a rich family to oversee its modernization. He finally parted ways with her after that and attempted life as a merchant captain for a few months.

He was hit with hard times and ended up losing his ship to Pirates when he charged them attempting to save a friend piloting an advanced train. Both ships ended up destroyed and he hit rock bottom. He was called back to service by some friends in the Navy to Command the newly re-commissioned Kearsarge which he wielded with great skill against the Corsair and Order Hoards. With many Capital kills to his ships name, they were both permanently assigned to the 1/12 FAS. The 1/12 is a squadron composed of cruiser class and below ships that are a QRF for the Liberty Navy. Made up of stern ruthless commanders and crews they are the ships you call when the odds are not in your favor. Most of the captains are zealots of the Liberty nation and have an undying hatred of anyone who would attack or corrupt it.

The final few pages are full of reports of the high level of discipline onboard the ship, but also shows some of the contempt that the Commander shows for some members of other squadrons. This has gotten him several reprimands from some of his Commanders and threatens his command. However, he seems to have made some positive strides in the past few weeks following a standoff in the Texas System.

//For those who care I based the unit off of the 1/12 CAV that i used to be part of. Link to 1/12 CAV brief history. We very much were what I described here.
