Hey there Nick, or whatever your real name is,

I actually wanted to send this to you yesterday, but I had an important meeting. Thanks again for the walk we had back then, it really helped me a lot to lose all these bad thoughts. Everything's fine again ... well, let's rather say I just try not to think about what worries me at the moment.

Now, enough of that I guess, let's come to "business", shall we?

Lately, I've been thinking about the plans you told me you have in your mind, and quite frankly, they seem to be very interesting. To have a band of mercenaries doesn't sound bad indeed, as we could accept contracts together on a more regular basis. And having good company around you while doing business never hurts, right?

It would be kinda pathetic for that band to only consist out of two 'Lancers though. So I suggest, after we've done the organisation part and all that stuff, we go and look for more fellows who could assist us. But, as I already told you, I insist on these fellows being good company. Having weirdos around would only cause problems.

Regarding Sarah, I'll try and catch her as soon as possible to ask whether she's interested or not.

Also, I'd say we first stick with the name I suggested. After all, "Forlorn Hope" still is a cool name if you ask me.

See ya soon!

~Elena

Elena, its a pleasant surprise to hear from you so soon.

I agree wholeheartedly about the name, and am glad you not only find the ideas interesting, but that you also are interested in helping set up and run the band. Indeed it does sound better to have people you can trust flying with you while doing business. Sarah would make a fine addition to the fold, as she has proven herself to be quite capable with a gunship and fighter, and should we encounter any other promising candidates, we will further expand, or attempt to expand, our ranks. I have no disagreements about the good company part either. So as you say, lets get the organization parts done, and then we can vet more 'Lancers for recruitment.

Let this mark the beginning of a long and productive relationship as dual commanders of the "Forlorn Hope", and here's to a bright future ahead of it.

~Nick Ericsson Stenn

PS. I know you were curious about my full name, so there it is.

Your answer was quite fast as well mate,

so as far as I've understood, you've planned the Forlorn Hope to be something like a multitasking group, right? To be honest, I have many ideas floating around in my head, but I'm not sure how many of them we can actually fulfill without overdoing it. I don't know how much of a good leader I can be, so I suggest we should start small, with a few general ideas what we want to do. If everything goes alright, we can still expand into many other directions, I guess.

One thing I want to add. Maybe I'm a bit too idealistic, but in my opinion, the beauty of being a Freelancer is the freedom you can enjoy. Therefore, and to make sure everybody who might join us won't lose this freedom, I don't think we should have any kind of "ranks". A mercenary group based on democracy would be something completely new and very interesting in my opinion. But I can also see the benefits of having one or more leaders, organizing escort missions and such.

And ... what the hell are you doing in Hudson Nick?! Whatever, I'll try to hit up Sarah this evening, and I guess we're good to go then.

See ya soon!

~Elena

I personally believe that now is precisely a time for ideals, and while I am somewhat skeptical of the idea of a democratic merc group, I think that not only is it a novel idea, but it may be the best way to prevent any one member from overstepping their bounds. With us in agreement about that, all thats left is to decide upon how best to begin, and what we should attempt to start with. I'll begin making my way over to Manhattan to meet up and discuss all this in person.

~Nick.
