Personality: Jack is serious by nature most of the time due to his lack of trust in people, it's only those who he's known for a long time or knows someone he really trusts that might see his more lighthearted side. Though he prefers his own company to the company of others as he finds other people don't understand him. It's only when he is alone that he can think clearly without other people filling his head with other thoughts. Though his trust may prove hard to earn he is very loyal and dedicated willing to do whatever it takes to complete the task at hand.
His more lighthearted side brings out his kinder nature, if one were to gain his trust and bring out this side they would find that Jack is far more humorous in nature preferring to laugh and enjoy the good times while he can though if you probe deeper into his mind you would find a deep thinker and that there is much more to this side of him than meets the eyes.
||History||
Jack was born in the Omicrons though his family moved out of the omicrons when he was born so he could receive an education in Bretonia. He had a pretty normal childhood with his sister Marie who was born just two years after him. Marie showed an exceptional aptitude for the field of science and went on to study at Cambridge university where she later went on to specialize in Nomad studies.
Jack's talent however lied in surviving, being smart and seeing the threat where nobody else would see one, an aptitude that suited him well for military life. He was by all accounts an exceptional soldier who served honorably in the course of his duty but Jack didn't like the military, he saw little sense in partaking in war, there was always going to be war, a never ending cycle of destruction, so he left the military and took up bounty hunting, something he only did when he needed the cash, he wasn't particularly fond of tempting the hand of death to come and knock at his door.
The hand of death had already knocked once in his life, Jack's father died of a rare condition when Jack was just twelve years of age, a loss that Jack seemed to take very hard as he admired his father so much, he remembered how he always emphasized the importance of family to Jack, how we all have to depend on each other and before he passed away he asked Jack to continue the Job he was not able to finish, to watch over his sister. From that day on Jack watched over Marie, he was there to defend her, whenever another student at school tried picking on her he was there to stop them, whenever she found herself lacking in confidence he would be there to encourage her and whenever she needed someone to talk to he was always available he did exactly as he promised his father right up until she graduated from university.
The pair formed a naturally strong bond over those years so it was only natural for her to invite Jack along with her when she decided to begin her own research and studies on Nomad artifacts and technology. Jack was reluctant, he maintained that Science was her field not his saying that he wasn't destined to do great things and that she should use that extra place on her research team to bring someone more qualified. Marie knew him all too well told him that he wasn't destined to so great things but he was destined to do small things in a great way. After some convincing Jack agreed to go along as an escort as part of the research team.
During their time in the Omicrons they came across another research scientist based in Omicron Kappa named Dr.Crey. He specialized in studying artificial intelligence and how it evolved. He studied the AI based on planet Gammu and made his own version of AI based off their model. Both being scientists curiosity was in their nature and as such they both often aided each other with research, gathering and shearing scientific data as well as discussing their own hypothesis. It wasn't long before Marie developed an interest in the field of AI development started to build her own AI model as a side project to help with her own research, DR.Crey helped of course offering his own knowledge and experience in it's construction so that it would be fully functional.
Less than half a year later Marie had made good progress on her research and was close to a scientific breakthrough regarding how a nomad power cell obtains it's energy but when out on a research expedition they were approached by a group affiliating themselves as The Order. They demanded that they follow them to a station where they would dock and be questioned. When Jack inquired as to what the problem was he found that they had been monitoring their group for some time and that Marie's research was too dangerous to let fall into the wrong hands. Things turned sour quiet quickly from there and before Jack knew it he was overwhelmed with three fighters on his tail. He knew that they'd gotten out of tougher spots than this, as long as the fighter pilots kept targeting him and not Marie's ship they'd be able to reach a station before taking any significant damage.
As events transpired fortune was not on their side as the Serenity-SR.1 was ambushed by a cloaked battleship, Jack fought on in spite of overwhelming odds leading to his ships destruction, his escape pod was damaged in a collision with derbies belonging to the Serenity-SR.1 causing a breach in the pod. With life support compromised and no viable means of escape Jack was left for dead. He was later found dead by Dr.Crey and Anders when they searched the site of the distress call they had received from the Serenity-SR.1. However all was not lost as Anders rushed to bring Jack's body back to his AI counter parts on planet Gammu in the hopes that they might be able to save him.
Though it took two years Jack was brought back to life with the help of the AI and some heavy modifications to his body, it took him a while to process all that had happened but when he finally came around he swore everlasting vengeance upon the Order going solo on flights to find their patrols and hunt them down. For a while that's all Jack did, a man without a cause but who's soul purpose was to kill every Order agent he set his sights upon. It was during this time that he met an individual named Jared Nomak. Though Jack was skeptical of him at first his assistance in eliminating some order ships helped to gain Jack's trust. It was then that Jared shared his vision for humanity, a vision of peace between humanity and nomads and for Jack a new cause to fight for.
