Planet Gammu does not rotate, ever. It is one of the rare stellar objects, let alone planets, that seems to be locked in space. As if it were dead. There is so much "life" around it, and its certainly not locked in time. Years have passed and as it prospered under the control of "First Thought, Giver of Will". Massive industrialization enabled the Harvesters quick access to spare parts as well as new vessels. They have made respectable progress in eliminating a major part of nomad presence in Kappa. Siding with the Corsairs has proven profitable. They respected the Harvester's strength and undying will and gave them support in both tech and numbers. Together they have proven to be nearly invincible.

"Voice Of The Machine" had little to no success with others. The Zoners are currently considered as harvestable units, due to some weird misunderstandings. Liberty has rejected VOTM in their final diplomatic approach at planet Manhattan. Each eye-witness has a different story but one thing is certain: the Harvesters have failed. Now Liberty is out of their jurisdiction, they have lost a potential ally. The Reinlanders are also considered harvestable, along with Bretonians and Outcasts. The Kusari have blocked every approach so they will continually reduce their presence there.

In light of these events, this great but dangerous times, Harvester_52 was born.

Robotic modules in charge of maintaining spare parts were silent today. Every material needed for Scout vessel No.003644 was prepared. This project had been specially employed by unit 00 itself. Each vessel was given its orders around Sirius. Without unit 00, none of the protocols held any value. One might say it was a "personal" agenda, engineered by one of the most advanced AI entities in the universe.

Man would be honored to see such harmony that was present at the "birth" of unit 003644. The clinking and clipping of the machine's industrial power was worthy of thousands of pictures, songs and novels. One could barely imagine how advanced the Harvesters had become, building high-tech vessels at top speeds.

Unit 003644 was a simple design. A drone class vessel with built-in semi-efficient weapons, big cargo hold, and a standard engine for interstellar travel. It was weak, slow, but still unique in its own way. The difference was the new experimental scanner with new series of tracking systems. With it, it could keep an "eye" on almost any vessel in the system... and more. It was a Universe-scanner, first of its kind. The unit equipped with that could pinpoint the location of any object no matter how far.

This little drone was 1 hour old now, but you could tell that it was going to play an important role once it receives the blessing from the godlike AI.

"This unit serves the FTGW" it said as the complex Stage-5 "Intellect" was installed.
The universe was endless, thou not endless enough to hide from his eyes.

The vessel was being deployed into the orbit. Unit 00 was as close to something man could define as "pleased" as possible. This was a small step for unit 003644, for it could do much more.

"All engines online" 003644 had stabilized itself and entered Kappa space above planet Gammu.

"This unit examined 70% of available components. 100% of subject components are currently in use."

At this point, unit 003644 would have its first "insight" about something other than itself. Harvesters were all connected to the FTGW, and the rich database of information collected by earlier models. But explaining how the AI "felt" when they first opened their "eyes" is not something man could write about. An artist wouldn't be able to describe the way machines experience joy.

:::Scanning:::

Wealth of data streamed trough its core. It was specially designed to acquire data about its surroundings at unimaginable speeds. This was just the new model of an standard galactic scanner. It had not yet passed its first test.

"Commence Experiment_342AF7 Protocol"

Unit 003644 was fresh from Gammu's industrial core, its batteries filled with enough energy to fulfill any objective within his limits. But would it work?

Temperature rose above 3400 Celsius but all components seemed unharmed. 003644 was glowing, it had used up a significant amount of energy processing the command.

For a split second, it could see every unit in Sirius.....

A massive dark ship emerged from the nebula. It immediately started attacking civilian classed vessels. As it approached a small lightly inhabited moon it began charging up its front weapon. The powerful scanner was not only able to display data in visual, but also in audio format. The ship captain was yelling something in an synchronous sequence: "MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" but 003644 could not find a translation in the wealthy database.

It "saw" a system filled with bioforms defined as "humans". Large capital ships, marked with a blue star with red outlining, intercepted a massive fleet of bomber classed vessels in the unprotected Zoner system called Bering. As they fought, 00364 could record every maneuver. Valuable data would be stored for processing.

In a dark corner of Sirius, a gigantic burst of chain explosions opened a mine barrier to an unknown system... scanning it would likely prove valuable for the Machine Alliance grand Database.

On the far side of the universe it detected yet unregistered ship classes. Human bioforms established a great number of factories and were building enough advanced vessels to bring down any equally numbered human fleet. It would recognize the pattern of the following symbols: S C R and A

but something went wrong...
The Universe Scan had taken great toll on the unit's vessel. 003644 had melted some of its exterior plating and damaged some communication circuits. The vessel had reported several errors to the main database, yet the process in place was impossible to stop. Disoriented, the vessel drifted in the orbit.

It was still glowing, the great amount of radiation was expected but should have vanished a long time ago. This, was not predicted... this type of radiation - was unique as well. Lacking alpha and beta waves but emitting strong gamma radiation with an unexpected element. The components began to fold and form new circuits. No machine has ever experienced direct physical mutation, it was considered impossible. And just as the "painful treatment" reached its peak a large Hauler unit encradled the helpless unit, and brought it down for examination and repairs.

Once stationed at the main hangar, the unit became more unstable. The mutated hull began to provoke nearby parts, systematically absorbing them, thus "regenerating" itself and physically growing. The other machines all received system errors, a unpredictable "living" aspect was not expected in the Core of the harvester's domain. The unit grew and evolved quickly, undisturbed by other units. It had grown into a heavy capital ship, unquestionably abstract design. The giant front component shaped like a fearsome predator's head with huge tentacle-shaped robotic limbs spawning on its back. The horrid "creature" growled in pain, merging abstract arsenal to his hull. Corsair, Cerberus, Solaris, and even some experimental turrets found its place on the unit's "torso", quickly shifting angles as if they were sentient...and afraid.

The unit became bigger the radiation subdued. The mutation process was far from over, but it stopped attracting nearby parts. Instead it continued reorganizing circuits inside, forming a delicate structure simmilar to those found in Nomad bioforms.

The repairs were deemed "complete" due to an unknown parameter bug in the main system. Without permission, the unit leaped into the orbit, ready for its next assignment.

The Database mysteriously recognized it as "valid" and registered it:
