The Free Brigands of Gallia

Hello everyone. In an unexpected turn of events, this instance of the Brigands appeared to be quite popular. There has been an unexpected amount of interest in this once dead faction and a number of people have expressed their desire to join or RP with us, which is great! We weren't planning to make this thread for a long time, but things don't always go to plan do they?

This thread simple for three things:

-To show your interested in the Brigands RP or our unique way of telling it
-To apply for the Brigands through either PM or by posting below
-To gauge how engaged the community really is with the idea of another Gallic faction.

If you want to apply, great - no faction can ever have enough members when starting out. If you do just use the form below and either post here or PM the faction account (which is checked multiple times a week) to send off an app. You may have noticed there are two forms, that is because one is for applying, and the other is "showing interest". The other form can be used by PM'ing us it filled out and it shows that you have an idea or desire to RP with us as a faction. (This might be a bad idea, but won't know unless we try!)

(Why PM allowed? We know some people want to keep their anonymity and we aim to keep that as close as possible. When post RP for example, people are given the choice of their own account or an alt for this reason. In expansion to this, if you know the identity of anyone within the faction, do not tell outsiders this information unless you have been given express permission. Some people like things to be kept secret as RP can be a lot more fun when you don't who is on the other end, you can sit there trying to guess which adds to the excitement.)

Why do you want to join the Brigands? What peaked your interest? A friend talked to me about this faction and i think i might find some fun and a good reason to log into the game, in here

What are you trying to join for? (PvP? RP? Etc): Mostly PvP at the moment

Would you say you're a seasoned expiericed RP'er, a hardened PvP vet, or just a new guy looking for some friends?: Seasoned experienced RP'er - although RP isn't exacly my motivation to play right now.

What is your characters name?: Bernard De Verley

How old are they? (DoB in Gallic): 30 years old | Born in 710 A.G.S

Where was your character born?: Frejus Base

Was your character born a Brigand, or joined later in life?: Born

Give a short origin story on your character to give yourself a unique character point and all that jazz. :
Bernard was born in Frejus and, like many there, he was raised to be a raider.

Most of the time, Bernard makes a living, along with some other raiders from frejus, by attacking transports going in and out of Provence. However, he is occasionally hired to protect convoys carrying nox from the Unione Corse, due to his skill as a fighter pilot.

Due to the somewhat unorganized way he and his associates tend to raid transports coming from Marseille and some stations in Provence, their activities have been easly disrupted by the Gallic Royal Police.

With the recent growth in power of some influential names among the brigands such as Noah Durand, Bernard decided to try to join his organization within the brigands, in an atempt to work amongst a more organized and succesfull group of pirates and raiders.

What are some of your characters short/long term goals and aspirations?: work with an organized group and finally start winning battles against the Royal Navy

Why do you want to join the Brigands? What peaked your interest? I have some experience in pirate factions and systems that are struggling for activity and hope to just do my bit for that side of the server when i have free time.

What are you trying to join for? (PvP? RP? Etc): A mix of both really I try to keep it balanced however I imagine it'll start off mostly RP based

Would you say you're a seasoned expiericed RP'er, a hardened PvP vet, or just a new guy looking for some friends?: I am average at both

How long you been playing Discovery and/or RP'ing?: On and off for many years, (this account is new and I use a faction tagged one for my main characters)

Of course this is reasonable, however there is a time and a place when the "special made up player rules." should be ignored in certain cases of RP

Where was your character born?: Montbard Base

Was your character born a Brigand, or joined later in life?: Born into it

What group are they part of/loyal to? (Choose either Frejus Raiders, Boulogne Smugglers, or Planet Marne. This makes no ooRP difference, its just to help with character backstory): Undecided(will explain in orgin story)

Give a short origin story on your character to give yourself a unique character point and all that jazz. : Born on Montbard and spent most of his childhood aboard the station with the exception of a few smuggling trips that he had been taken on by his father to learn what it meant to be a Brigand. As Remi was approaching the age to get his own ship his father was killed by the Royal Navy during a resupply mission leaving him with no credits or ship to work with. After a short period of mourning a decision was made to be more than a smuggler and to hit the enemies of the Brigands where they would know about it. He got a job aboard the station to earn enough money to buy his first fighter and spent the first few years raiding saving up for a more deadly ship but now spends the majority of the time alone in the heart of Gallia and targeting any ship foolish enough to leave unescorted.

What are some of your characters short/long term goals and aspirations?: no real long term goals at the moment, i have chosen a relatively young character that can evolve as RP happens

Bonus Question: Why is your knowledge of Gallia a bit wrong? & some of the answers are a bit Vague: Well you see this is my first time playing a Gallic faction so feel free to point out any flaws in this application and I can adjust accordingly. Basically I want this character to develop in game without any predetermined goals or some birthright to be doing a certain thing.

Why do you want to join the Brigands? What peaked your interest? Your Warlord was within comms reach (Löz) , I think Gallia weapons are pretty powerful and I like to be tucked away in the corner of the map

What are you trying to join for? (PvP? RP? Etc): PVP, hauling, mining... will do RP but dont have time to build up a whole story due to RL

Give a short origin story on your character to give yourself a unique character point and all that jazz. : Gerard de Ronflonflon was born on Planet Marne as a child of a Brigand pilot and a local prostitute. Given his aggressive character he was soon imfamous for picking random fights even with bigger opponents. Surprisingly he survived many bare-knockle fistfights as well as space-jousts and found himself following his fathers footsteps years later when he flew with the Brigands.

What are some of your characters short/long term goals and aspirations?: Gerard just wants to see a lot of action, loves to test his guns every time he gets his hands on some new ones. In the far future he would love to fly one of them "sausisse grande", them big ships... because... big ships have big gunns...
