Portrayal:

With the steady growth of the Forlorn Hope and the continuous change from an independent, merely small-sized mercenary group with a limited set of offered services to a militaristic organization, the heads of the group slowly began realizing what they had been building up over the past months had already made appearances on the political landscape of Sirius. So to speak, they had continuously left the cradle they had been residing in, their heritage they had carried into the Sirius sector as the successors of the Forlorn Hope divisions, consisting of brave, yet just poor soldiers, of ancient times. In an attempt to spread this accumulated influence further and use it to shape the current diplomatic situations in Forlorn Hope's own favor. Understanding that it needed a group of their people specialized in those matters, trained in the chancy, complex, yet ultimately rewarding games of political chess, aware of how to checkmate their opponents. As an inevitable consequence, the Atropos Division of the Forlorn Hope was founded soon after, to guarantee the faction's survival on the Sirian-scaled political chessboard, to make sure the Forlorn Hope wouldn't end up as a foolish pawn sacrifice, taken advantage of by other organizations. Its members are specialized in the arts of rhetoric and diplomacy, a necessity if they wish to make a difference.
However, the division as well focuses on different matters such as scientific research and development, as it is in the possession of the major labs of the Forlorn Hope in which day by day its researchers are in a continuous struggle to keep the faction's technology up-to-date and competitive to its opponent's. Just as the diplomatic section it can be considered an integral part of the Forlorn Hope by now, another key subdivision that plays it major role in the group's
longevity.
Furthermore, the division specializes in the art of information retrieval and intel gathering, however shows a very profound interest in data concerning the Forlorn's political situation as well as the situation of other groups Forlorn is interested in.

Enlistment:

Naturally, not every individual is suited for the positions offered by the Atropos Division, as it requires a very certain set of skills to acquire a good overview of all factors one has to deal with in the art of diplomacy. While the division can't be called elitist truly, during the enlistment process each person will be evaluated individually before either being taken into its ranks or denied. Different to the Seraphim Division, the physical abilities of an individual will play a far less important role than mental advantages such as cunning and rational thinking when choosing between the applicants.
