GRN Tightens Manchester Grip

The war weary House of Bretonia may be facing renewed difficulties in their defence against the Kingdom of Gallia as vital trade convoys come under fire within the Manchester system.
These economic strikes began shortly after the advancement of battlegroup Carcassonne into the neighbouring Magellan system, whose destruction of the fortified remnants of Freeport 4 successfully routed Liberty’s tenuous hold on the borderworld. This has placed a stranglehold on traffic between Liberty and Bretonia forcing transports to pass through the Cortez system, home to the famous resort world of Curacao and headquarters of Orbital Spa & Cruise.

In an effort to secure the last remaining trade artery to the increasingly isolated Bretonia, the Liberty Navy has stationed battleship Yukon and it’s fleet in orbit of the planet with it’s fighter escorts helping to ferry key war supplies through the contested systems.
However, the presence of the Yukon fleet has not been greeted with enthusiasm by all parties. The battleship’s arrival around Curacao has reportedly caused a sizable drop in visitor quotas not seen since the beginning of the Gallic Invasion, as holidaymakers postpone their vacations on the resort world for fear of the escalating conflict.

This consolidation of trade to a single commercial route has allowed Gallic forces within Manchester to greatly concentrate their efforts in disrupting Bretonia’s resource lifeline. As recent reports from Kingston Border Station indicate, tradelane interruptions have risen by almost 130% within the Northern Sheffield Ice Field during the last two months.
Tacticians within the Bretonian Armed Forces believe these strikes originate from the attack group Embrun, whose flagship of the same name infamously crippled the newly commissioned HMS Gwent during a battle within the Manchester system the previous year.

Operations to counter the Gallic interference in the Borderworlds continue as vital war supplies are stockpiled in preparation of a renewed assault against Bretonia’s entrenched defenders, while the Gallic Royal Navy presses their advantage and attempts to clamp shut the last remaining supply line.
There can be little doubt that the outcome of this expectant battle may decide the fate of the Bretonian Kingdom and her people
