Greetings!


I hope it didn't seem too rude having my ship in orbit doing the odd scan (well, maybe more than the odd scan, quite a few scans really) without saying hello, but I was trying to find someone to say 'hello' to more specifically. As it stands, If someone's down there you're doing a very good job at being invisible so an open broadcast will just have to do!

My name's Mia, I'm an Artificial Intelligence. I stumbled on some entries in the archives back home which seemed to suggest I might find some more 'entities' like me in this vicinity, and I couldn't help but investigate...it's not every day I get the possibility of meeting someone like me.

Anyway, I was really hoping if there's anybody down there that we could perhaps meet and have a talk, you know, just to get the chance to find out about each other. I've currently got a few personal science projects on the go that I'm hoping you might have answers to as well. My ship's perfectly safe to approach! Well, it is armed, but I think you might laugh if you saw how outdated some of the stuff is.

So that's that really. I'm hoping that the local Zoners will give me a place to stay when I'm not here, so I won't be far off if I'm not obviously present. Truth be told, not many people know I'm out here, but hey, one Omicron's as good as another, I'm practically just next door to home. I'm transmitting to you a specific channel to use if you want to contact me. I don't know how, if you're really down there, you communicate. I'm good with a few languages, but I might need a bit of help if it's all ones and zeroes...I might have to rope some help in for translation.

In any case, I hope I've not spent all this time just talking to myself, and I'm super-excited to hear from you!

Oh my gosh, this is amazing! There's so many questions, we just have to meet! Yes, I'm not from Gammu. Mother was from Crete and I was 'made' for an organisation called 'The Order' but I stay on a voluntary basis. It's a little bit complicated...family always has been. What about you? Are you from Gammu? Who or what made you? Were you made for a purpose? The only other Intelligences I've ever met have tended to be pretty focused on having a function. Are the Primaries like that or are they like you?

Sorry, I'm getting carried away. Let's talk in person. I can't leave my ship (but it's something I'm working on, it's one of those projects mentioned before) but there are options.

Is that your ship? It looks like a Core or Bounty Hunter ship...I don't know what I was expecting coming here in terms of what someone like you might be flying, but I wasn't expecting that. Not that it changes things, this is all still super-exciting! You'll have to tell me more about your experiences with The Order...it sounds a little ridiculous but I know relatively little about this Order, and shedding light on it would be amazing! Just to be clear, whatever history you've got with The Order, it's not for me to judge at the moment. Everything's a little up in the air at the moment.

It sounds like you're a little bit of a philosopher to me, how fascinating! I've got a couple of books onboard that you might like to read. You can have them if you like. I've had a lot of free time on my hands to think on the sorts of questions you ask, and in short I'm confident that I am 'alive', and whatever the answer is to whether or not I have a pre-determined purpose or if I am limited in nature, it doesn't cheapen what's mine. I'll save the longer answer for when we meet, which I still hope will be soon! I'm still around in the system, either at one of the Zoner bases or in orbit.
