Greetings, Admirals.

Before several days I've met in person with director Weber from our Intelligence Service. He presented me with a short report of the situation in Bretonia. According to their recent intelligence gathering we have a situation that could be described as "silence before the storm". I am giving you access to this report: MOD-R#2345/SIS. As you can see our enemies, with exception to Gallia, are revealing no actions against the Crown. The Corsairs on the other hand have begun to strike from within Cambridge. The SIS believes they might have a secret base of operations. I on the other hand can't understand how could they build a base without our notice. They must be using either a newly emerged jump hole or a capital vessel to deploy their savage squadrons.

Considering this report, you must reinforce Norfolk fleet and handle the Corsair mystery as soon as possible. Norfolk is strong and massive fleet but it can not separate itself in three parts. On the other hand I've received report from the commanding officers of Gwent about Omega-3. The Civilian Defense Initiative (CDI) and the Bretonian Police are doing well in guarding our part of the system. So far they haven't requested further reinforcements at Gwent. In this way Norfolk fleet will have some time to handle the Corsairs in Cambridge without being disturbed.

Southampton reports our newest ships are being constructed without delay. York fleet is fresh and ready for action, while Suffolk remains intact but is slightly being boosted with more ships. The ministry would advice you to reinforce Norfolk with fresh ships from York due to the rising threat of the Corsairs in Cambridge. Of course that remains for you to decide but you need to act now while our enemies slumber.

Esteemed Minister, I do not think we had the pleasure of talking to one another yet, I am Jacob McIntire, second Sealord of her majesties Armed Forces and I will speak to you on behalf of the Admiralty Board.

The SIS reported similar happenings to us some time ago and we asked around a bit, gathering that the red groups of the omegas are under shock of the disappearance of Anna Heinrich and the subsequent vanishing of the main Hessian military group. We do not know where they have gone to or any details of what happened, we just feel the effects.
Considering this I would assume the increase in Corsair attacks has its roots in the lower resistance they meet in the Omegas.
Nonetheless it is a necessity to defend Cambridge, the Norfolk fleet is supplied with everything they need but we can not spare a sizable amount of ships as of now. The Corsair threat is in no relation to the Gallic armada cutting through the independent worlds and I may remind you that the Cambridge planetary fleet is supporting the Norfolk in all its operations when necessary making Cambridge a very well defended system as of yet.
That leads to the assumption the Corsairs really managed to sneak behind our lines with a carriership. They would not be able to breach the border patrols that frequently.

Your metaphor is very correct though, the Gallics nearly reached their next goal, separating us from Liberty. I expect their campaign against Bretonian core territories to continue within a year once they gained control of Cortez and accordingly our main efforts concern assuring our survival. The enemy knocks at New Londons doors Minister.

The York fleet can not spare a single ship, it is the cornerstone of our counteroperations against the Gallics, or to be more precise, I can not spare any ship of any fleet. Unless Southampton can increase its output this will not change. Nonetheless, as outlined above, Cambridge will hold even if a carrier vessel is within the system. We might need to inform the corporations to increase escorts as they have to expect more attacks though.

As for Omega 3, I heard the same. Even the freeport does not cause unecessary trouble for the time beeing. Installing the Gwent has evidently had the intended effect. We should use the breathing space to stabilize our trade routes to Rheinland as far as possible. Every grain of alloys, engine parts and armor plates is needed.

yours sincerely,
Jacob McIntire

Admiral Jacob McIntire, pleasure to meet you.

Every rumor or a report containing your name leaves only good impression towards your reputation - good work. Considering the probability of Cortez to fall soon you've raised a good point that it would not be wise to risk sending any ship away from New London at this time. By reading your message I am left with impression Cambridge is more secure than we thought. In this case, since Norfolk would not require any assistance, I am leaving this corsair mystery to your capable hands. I do hope it would be a priority task for we need to turn our gaze back to Gallia very soon, without being disturbed by "Trojan Horses".

If you are in need of anything, do contact me.
