Ello m8,I had some issues on the IP and dat confused me.
If i want to play with my father,or i try to introduce the game to my frien,we hv to play under the same router. Will i get banned for dat reason?
I searched in the forum but cannot find the thread links to my quest.

Many thanks!

Relevant rule:
5.5 Connecting to the server with more than one character at a time (Multiboxing). Players who share a network connection and play together must not engage in trading/mining while doing so.
I always wondered:
If both have transports or transport and miner ship, it is pretty obvious.

But what If one has transport/miner and the other some kind of combat ship, protecting the miner/trader?

Does it count as "engage in mining/trading" if the other person just stays in the area, doing nothing, just so, that ore mined by the miner does not disappear (get de-spawned) or picked up by NPC patrols?

I guess it could depend on the ship type you fly? But then again some ships are capable of combat and mining, so it might depend on loadout as well?
i got it.2 fighters or battleships is allowed to the server, just no mining.
thanks c:
Better to present the situation to admins beforehand, providing details on who is going to play, and what ship names are going to be involved. In cases where there are people playing under the same connection fairly, the admins can config exceptions to avoid getting them autobanned, I think.

Sooo, if I want to introduce my girlfriend to the game while she is here on my laptop.. We can't mine, transport or the like together, cause we share a router?

Like, I get that the rule applies for people getting an unfair advantage by multi-boxing and the like, but, like, is there no way for two people, sharing a household to for example, transport and mine?
Not without pre-approval of the case, if I'm correct. Easier to explain beforehand, than getting banned and try to prove it's two people playing.
To be honest, I always thought that rule is just useless in 90% of the cases. We already live in times in which guy can use two separate internet connection points nowadays and he or she gets away with his cheating and no one can prove anything, unless caught red-handed in-game.
This is fine rule. Preventing multiboxing for easy moneymaking activities is good. If people want to make money in the same household, they can pick up bounty hunting or piracy.

Although staff could clarify if neither of ships can be used to trade or mine as the other could act as escort without much impact to overall profit rate.

That's the funniest thing I ever read. Bounty Hunting system is somewhat broken as owners do not do or want to do their job properly (let alone there are like two or even no unlawful boards, for example) and that still require degree of skills to even claim any bounty against other player. As for piracy, I'd heavily be careful with such a statement, cause piracy has never been as profitable as ore mining or even shipping normal stuff in terms of SCr/Hour. And I'm writing that as a guy who pirated for 5-6 years already.
