Martin was born on Kreuzberg Depot. His father was a junker. He had a brother named Hans who was 7 years old when Martin was born. His mother was a station operator. Kreuzberg was a very small station and every inhabitant knew each other. The life of a Junker was never easy so they had to look after each other. They were like a huge family.

In his childhood, Martin was very mischievous. He was nearly in every corner of the station. Most of the time he would get in alot of trouble. His father had a ship and left the station often to find scraps. He took his older brother with him and Martin was eager to go with them. When Martin was 7 his father started taking him with them when collecting scrap. Martin learned many things about ships and mechanics at that time. Sometimes his brother and him had to operate the ship because his father was working hard and sometimes he slept on the way back home.

After collecting enough scraps, his father and other junkers made long journeys to scrap buyers. Usually he didn't taking his children with him because the trip was too long. One day, when Martin was 13, his father decided to take Hans with him on his journey to Kusari. They left the station and never came back. It grieved Martin deeply.

After the tragedy, Martin and his mother were slowly running out of credits and his mother decided to move Planet New Berlin. His mother found a job and insisted Martin go to school but he really wasn't into school. He thought he should work too in order to reduce his mother's burden and found a job at a robotics factory. It took a long time for Martin to adapt the city life after the depot, but slowly he became grateful for moving to New Berlin because there were more opportunities than Kreuzberg.

Working as a laborer didn't pay much and they were barely making ends meet. Martin applied to many jobs as a pilot or crewman but all of them refused because he didn't have a proper education. Then he decided to sell cardamine in the streets of New Berlin. Of course he did not just sell cardamine but also used it. He was 18 when he had his first dose. He was earning good but also lost control of his life. He quit his job because he didn't need the little charity coming from

hours of heavy work. He was selling cardamine at parties and clubs, barely going home. He started to spend less time with his mother who was very ill.

In the early morning of 23/03/824, he decided to go home to sleep. When he walked in he found his mother dead. With all the chemicals in his blood, he experienced the most disasterous moment of his life. He could not even contact anyone until nighttime ,which was when the drugs wore off. After that, the police searched the apartment and it wasn't too hard for them to find Martin's stash. Luckily the amount was very low and he wasn't accused as a dealer but as a user. He was arrested and sent to rehabilitation. He was willing to quit drugs after his mothers death and rehabilitation helped him. After 6 months he came back home. He could not find a job as a factory slave and he could not sell cardamine again. He had been hearing rumors about The Unioners for a long time. He decided to buy a black market ship with all his money and left New Berlin once and for all.

When he arrived at the Speyer Base, he met Gunda Rhiel. She helped him join the ranks. Martin carried many missions along Unioners. This helped him gain respect very fast and become Oberarbeiter.
