"Majin"

Domo, my wandering minion. It's you small and fashionable guardian angel Majin here. I'm sure your having a good time out there, probably earning more in your day job than I can ever hope to be legally paid in my role of your supervisor, but a job is a job.

Unfortunately, my job doesn't have a perk of an All Seeing Eye, so I have to ask you what you've been up to. I'm been giving some room to operate on your own and build a rep out there in the world again after your detention, but I have yet to get a report on what you have achieved so far. I need to give you some assignments, but first I need a briefing of your current situation.

Chop chop Hime-san. I'm short on staff, and I need to put them to work on a tight pace to start getting results.

Majin, signing off.

Konbanwa, Majin.

Worry not, I did not forget about our little agreement.
You can naturally count on me for the fulfillment of any priority assignment Naval Intelligence may require.

The last engagements I participated to with a Naval Forces transponder were the battles against Corsairs in Sigma 21. That was good fun.
Didn't spend the last weeks enjoying cocktails on CuraƧao however, as you can imagine. I began working with that group of mercenaries known as Forlorn Hope. Already claimed bounties for several Outcasts.
But I spent most of my time between House Liberty and House Kusari...

My relationship with the Gaian movement may be in jeopardy following their discovery of that mercenary work I have recently been doing. There was quite some commotion in the Barrier pass between them and I, almost two weeks ago.
Some Nomad power-cell they wanted and that I didn't hand over. They are rather angry; I do not know how things will evolve from this point.

Oh and I recently won a minion myself for an entire week. Some dice game. Can't say she's been really useful so far, but it's not like I asked that minion anything significant either, so...

If you require my presence, I can move to Kusari.
Akai Hime.

Hmmm, seems there have been some developments. It's a pity if we lose out some contacts with Bretonia and it's underworld, but in the end it's up to you to choose the means to get the results.

Speaking of results, there are a few things on our plate for the time being. Word from the diplomatic channels mention that rogue KPT agents have obviously disregarded the current recall orders from the top brass, and have been seen operating in Liberty space. Naturally, the government and military have denied any previous approval of their deeds, and disavowed them.

However, claiming we are ignorant of their presence is one thing, and being ignorant of their moves is another, something that we shouldn't allow. During your field work, I want you to track and report on any findings and mentions of kusari agents, or former agents in your area. Find the basics of their identification and purpose, and whether they are working under a new boss.
Avoid however, unnecessary contact if proven hostile, nor let them be aware of our surveillance and interest in their acts. If they get interested in you, you feed them your field cover, and nothing more. KNI directorate will decide if we take the initiative to contact them.

Other than that, we need to get reacquainted with the inner works of the other houses. If Liberty is your field of play, fidn out the basics of the main agents in politics and crime. Whatever is public knowledge and word of mouth about them, get it and pass it to me. Rumor has it that there's even more dissent in Liberty Navy than before, and that there is increased armed resistance around the House. We must be weary if it spills out to our borders, or if other outside agents capitalize on it to weaken Liberty beyond our purposes.

Other than that, keep me posted on any major happening of interest. Feel free to take a break and come home to exercise your KNF routines from time to time. Discreetly.

Majin, signing off.

Already met one of those, actually. I hope you will find that little piece of conversation interesting.

[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: Wait.
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: What is a Wyvern doing here.
[...]
[LN]-Jack.Edison: Wait.. I saw you before..
[...]
Zugaikotsu: "Now, my question is, how can you people still be surprised when you see me, after I shot down Navy ships, fled from probably every law enforcement officer in Liberty, bla bla bla."
Zugaikotsu: "Do you people even have a database? I am tired of repeating myself over and over again, that is why I ask."

GG-Asagao: That person looks in deep need of attention.
Zugaikotsu: "No, but I get a lot of it."
GG-Asagao: You sure do, Whatever-san.
Orisa.Atano: I'm inclined to agree with Asagao here.
Zugaikotsu: "Disgusting, anyway, what does a Gaian want here."
GG-Asagao: Hmm.. That's probably... None of your business?
Zugaikotsu: "Are you in need of attention then."
GG-Asagao: Oh I'm fine, thank you.
Zugaikotsu: "Glad to hear."
GG-Asagao: Hai. Domo arigato.
Zugaikotsu: "First off, your pronunciation is worse than mine."
GG-Asagao: Is that so?
Zugaikotsu: "Secondly, do you really want to offend that obvious kusarian Freelancer."
GG-Asagao: You must have spent too much time outside of Kusari to know that.
Zugaikotsu: "I am not from Kusari, that probably explains it better."
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: It feels like a reunion of Kusarian right now.
[...]
Zugaikotsu: "I am not looking for anything, I just fly around and look at people... And then people start to shoot. That is how most days pass by. And what about you."
[LN]-Jack.Edison: You mean, making our navy to shoot you?
Zugaikotsu: "By sheer presence, yes."
GG-Asagao: If that person was infected and trying to worsen relations between House Liberty and House Kusari... Well... Let's say I wouldn't be surprised.
Orisa.Atano: I imagine you wouldn't welcome the presence of the Libertonian armed forces in New Tokyo either.
Zugaikotsu: "I don't really care who goes through New Tokyo. I don't really know the laws there anyway, maybe that is allowed, who knows. Kusari is strange sometimes, I would not be surprised I can tell you that."
[LN]-Jack.Edison: Well you should care what is exported throught New Tokyo.
GG-Asagao: I can't believe Kempeitai cells would be brain-dead enough to send someone like that person here... In a Kusari Navy ship, with a Naval Forces IFF.
Zugaikotsu: "You know, the Kempeitai didn't send anyone. Neither did the Navals."
GG-Asagao: Oh. Well that explains everything. Thank you.
Zugaikotsu: "You're welcome."
Zugaikotsu: "And therefore, I can assure you that I have no intention and also no ways to get my hands onto information or intel. In case you wanted to accuse me of being a spy. Not that this ever happened, oh no." *The woman rolls her eyes*

GG-Asagao: Just a tourist then.
Zugaikotsu: *A cough can be heard from the ship* "Yeah, probably."
Orisa.Atano: Hai. Way too many Kusarian tourists in unfitting ships. *she shrugs*
Zugaikotsu: "Yes, but I only have two and both of 'em wouldn't please the lords and ladies of the local navy."
Orisa.Atano: So you go in anyway, knowing that it's basically equals picking a fight. That's a strange attitude in my book.
Zugaikotsu: "Mhhh, at first it was more useful. There was an actual job to do and targets to pursue."
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: Then you're free to leave now.
Zugaikotsu: "I was free to leave a while ago but I always came back to entertain myself because of all the... events... that go down here."
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: What about you get yourself a new transponder and ship if you want to be a tourist.
GG-Asagao: Why indeed..
Zugaikotsu: "Hm, I'd have to give up a few access privileges, weapons and this nice fighter, no thanks."
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: But you are not welcomed in Liberty as long as you keep that.
Zugaikotsu: "Oh man, really? I mean, are you for real?"
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: So wouldn't it be easier to be a tourist with no one trying to shoot at you ?
Zugaikotsu: "Yes but didn't you listen."
GG-Asagao: You are wasting your breath, Nazawo.
Zugaikotsu: "Also, I don't really mind people trying to kill me."
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: I know I am. But if there's a way to end it peacefully..
GG-Asagao: Very kind of you.
Orisa.Atano: But also futile, apparently.
Zugaikotsu: "Hey, I am not shooting, I am not under contract right now, no contract, no fire."
[LN]-Nazawo.Ayato: We can't trust you as long as you are bearing such papers.
Zugaikotsu: "Pff, yeah, don't you f*cking worry. Shake your knees and sweat as much as you like then. In fear of the evil skull lady."
GG-Asagao: Let me get my edge-o-meter...
GG-Asagao: Or right. One hundred.
GG-Asagao: Not bad.

As for House Liberty and those rumors you mentioned, I actually heard one thing or two myself. Had an odd encounter with some ships belonging to a Liberty Navy dissident group in Texas system, apparently allied with Lane Hackers from what I could gather...
Guess it's worth investigating further?

Akai Hime.

Met a bunch of Bretonians as I was gathering information about the Bretonia/Liberty borders war theater initiated by Gallic Royal Forces. A Bretonia Intelligence patrol reinforced by an officer belonging to Bretonia Police Authority. They were kind enough to escort me back to Baffin system.

That Perry person also insisted on me to forward some terms to my superiors; mainly them relaying evidences of my presence in Cortez system to House Liberty authorities if Kusari Empire didn't begin retorsion measures against House Gallia.
You can find the relevant logs below.

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: So, it is simple enough. House Gallia is a threat to your house and House Liberty, correct?
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: What if it became a threat to House Kusari as well?
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: They're a threat to all of us, they destroyed your entire fleet in the Taus
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: I see the RKE is considering making moves to strengthen your position against Gallia then?

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: A significant part of it, yes.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: How far are you willing to go?
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: I don't know what the new government has planned.
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: But some units have been tasked to observe House Gallia's war theaters.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: That's all?
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: Maybe, maybe not. How would I know? I'm just an underdog tasked with a small job.
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: Perhaps they are willing to gain knowledge from these deployments... Perhaps they are looking at their options..
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: Perhaps they are using it to pinpoint weaknesses for later operations. Nobody knows.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Agt. Hime,
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: If Kusari is willing to place sanctions on important industries, or even a total trade embargo upon Gallia
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Then we can discuss further cooperation
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Right now,
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Your House has been benefitting of off trade with Gallia for almost a decade
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: And we don't know about your military's willingness to join the war
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: If you want Bretonia to take you seriously, beginning a process by which you reduce your ....interactions-
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: with Gallia, would go a long way to showing us that.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: So you can take that back to your Director.

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: Sure will. I don't know how much the current government can bend great Keiretsus to his biddings, though.
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: I mean Samura Heavy Industries suffered many drawbacks lately, for example.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: I will not comment on Kusari's internal politics
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: All I'm saying, is that your government needs to show us it's being serious about taking on Gallia
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Take that back to your government. I will give you, let's say,

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: You must understand it's not the right time for House Kusari yet. We just ended a civil war.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: One week before I forward your violation of Liberty space to the government of Liberty
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: No one said Kusari needs to enter a war.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: But we need to be shown that you are serious about reducing the influence of Gallia inside Kusari
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: We look forward to seeing what policy your government may pursue in the coming weeks and months if they are being serious

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: Perry-san. Threats are not necessary.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: If you need more time to get the information up the chain of command, more than a week, then send me an encrypted transmission
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: I'm not threatening you agent,
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: But I am giving you a chance, if Kusari is serious about this, to show us that.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: And if this process will take longer, let's say, a few months, then we can be patient.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: We just need to see progress so that we can take you seriously.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Is that something you can work with?

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: Are you saying you will report my presence in Cortez system unless House Kusari moves against free trade with house Gallia?
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: Just to be clear.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: In one week, or longer if you need it, we will forward this information to the governments of Liberty and Crayter
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: But if you are able to get me some indication that Kusari is debating the issue,
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: That they will -begin the process- of reducing Gallic influence inside Kusari,
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Not an outright trade embargo within a week, just an indication that it could happen at some point in the future
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: With evidence that we can take seriously,

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: I don't believe it is something Kusari Naval Intelligence of Kusari Naval Forces can prove you in any significant way.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: Then let's do this,
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: I'll take this back to my people.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: You take this back to yours.

[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: You may report my presence if you wish however. I don't think it willl be an issue, given the number of documented violations -
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: And let's see what happens.
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: of House Kusari sovereign space by Liberty Security Forces.
[KNF]Akai.Hime-KNI: And of course. I will forward your statement.
[SIS]-Adrienne.Perry: I can work with that.

So, Otomo-chan... Don't forget to take a look when you will be back from whatever it is that keeps you too busy to answer my calls... Deal?

Oh and incidentally; I just received a transmission from that same Perry Adrienne Bretonia Intelligence person, who just proposed to give us a tour of Seto and Tau 31 system, giving us free allowance to collect data during the assignment.
An offer we can't refuse... Or should we? Maybe they secretly wish to compromise us by leading KNI assets into a situation where GRN would witness them openly cooperating with Bretonia Military...
I'm not certain GRN High Commmand would be pleased to hear such a news.

I said I will get back to her as soon as I get green light from my superiors anyway. You decide.

Opening the transmission to you in case you would like to handle this matter personally:
Dear Agt. Akai Hime

Enjoy,

An odd development once again. Perhaps this Agents have caught wind of your recent fall out with the Gaians, and are looking to turn the tables on the game of the region.

Regarding the "tour", politely refuse, but instead ask if they would be willing to provide the same information in data. Having you under observation while "touring" with them could not only give them that photo op that you suspected, but also give them too many leads on how we would operate with them. We are not their allies, and the current scenario doesn't point in that direction either.

By now they probably already reported the encounter to the relevant parties, which is not bad per se. It was a slip up that we were spotted, but at the same time serves as a reminder that Kusari is not idle, and takes some attention to the matters in the Taus.

Remember, this Officer Perry is acting with the fate of her House, Bretonia, as her main concern. That is readily noted on the tone of her suggestions, so don't fall under illusions. Her problems are mostly her problems, and any pressures the BIS might impress upon us doesn't make them our problems too. Ask her if she has the liberty to offer the policy suggestions she seems to express. If she doesn't, it's best left for the politicians and diplomats.

Carry on the observations and investigations you're assigned to. Check if there is any equivalent intel operations on the Gallic side operating in the same area too.

Majin, signing off.

Konbanwa, Majin.

Been a while, hmm?
My apologies for the lack of mails as of late. Kept my head low following some carefully crafted plans that.. Backfired.

But I have interesting news for you.

The final battle of House Bretonia invasion has begun!

Look at that shiny new Carrier design. Isn't that a fine sight? I had the pleasure to step into its corridors. Not like I saw much though.
But let's get back to the subject at hand.

Yes. The GRN has launched quite a major operation. I had the surprise to discover Birmingham station entirely destroyed as I was moving through Manchester system...
Had to take a peek. Turns out the Gauls moved right into New London system to get House Bretonia on its knees. New London, the jewel of the galactic west, is close to get under siege.

Their first target was Southampton, it seems. That venerable shipyard is now but a wreck. From what I was told, the iconic Battleship York was damaged while protecting Southampton to allow that Carrier prototype to retreat - let's call it Class Warwick for the sake of argument. Looks like York's crew had to abandon ship. The hull is still floating aimlessly not afar from what remains of the Shipyard.

The Gauls have moved at least six Battle-groups into New London system, and are closing in to the gravity well of planet New London. I could get some sightings of the Battle-groups:
- Battle-group Le Crendre - Southampton wreck.
- Battle-group Ambazac - Southampton wreck.
- Battle-group Beuvray - Southampton wreck.
- Battle-group Castres - Closing by Planet New London gravity well.
- Battle-group Dax - Closing by Planet New London gravity well.
- Battle-group Nogent-le-Rotrou - Closing by Planet New London gravity well.

On the bright side, it seems like House Liberty was able to send a part of its fleet to support House Bretonia. Battleship Gettysburg is protecting the far orbit of planet New London, while Battleship Ottawa is maintaining its position by Planet Dover gravity well, along with Battleship Macduff. Several Liberty Assault Battle-cruisers's signatures have been confirmed as well.

I heard some tales about a super-gate allowing Liberty Navy reinforcements to circumvent the blockade enacted by House Gallia to cut off the two great Houses, but I couldn't confirm the information.

No matter... Looks like Baffies were forced to recall most of their forces. Macduff retreated from Newcastle system, while Essex abandoned Dublin system to Mollies. Baffies look truly desperate, and to be frank, this is pretty heartbreaking.
I took it on myself to help them whenever I could. The odds are not in our favor, to be frank.

You members of the Naval Forces should start to consider about whether this planet about to be besieged could be New Tokyo, and what you would be ready to do to save its people from the horrors of war.
But perhaps you are too busy sitting on your noble bottoms enjoying your unprecedented prosperity to care?

Do I need to note this is the worst stance Bretonians could assume? Standing by the very center of their House, their back to the gravity well of their Capitol planet, severely limiting their capacity to create the surprise or redeploy?

By the way... I forgot to ask. How is it going back home? I heard something about a "Shogunate". What are its objectives? I'm asking long term goals. Maybe I could help.
And about this conflict with House Rheinland? What's the situation, Majin?

About the members of this Bretonia Intelligence agency, I lost track of them. Just bumped into a grunt lately, who was as useful as a bikini to a monk reaching Satori. Guess they have others priorities right now.

What do you want me to do, Majin? Better state that quickly. I may be dead tomorrow, at that rate. Already lost two ships to this mess.

Your uniform is weird,
Akai Hime.

PS: I also couldn't help but notice some kind of cooperation between elements of Corsario Empire and the GRN. The two entities are most probably forging a treaty. You will have to report this to the Admirals Circle.
Their next target could very well be Kusari by performing a pincer attack on our House, which would be a less than ideal scenario.

A-kai-hi-me-chan? I don't like this channel being idle for too long. Have your romantic flings with hot foreign astronauts made you forget who you work with (again)?

"Do I mean so little to you, you little rascal?"

*A strong burst of static blurs the image, before returning to normal*

I heard some odd rumors that Forlorn is active in the Liberty area, but such rumors stop short of anything resembling evidence. False information spread by malicious parties, I wonder?
Also, give me an update on the latest sorties of yours.

It's a bit unpleasant, but I need to remind you this is the payment for your past disrespects towards the KNF professionalism. It's by virtue of this work that you can keep your work here, with your comrades, and still be able to go out on your side projects.

Majin, signing off.

P.S. My Uniform is the Apex of military fashion. You wish you ever were ever able to wear one of these.
Too bad, I won't make any for you.

Last I've heard, it appeared that you finally took the initiative and brought yourself back to Kusari to assist in the combat alongside KNF main units. Good to see you can choose wisely without me dictating every step of the road.

I want you to keep your focus on that. Assist the front forces in Honshu, gather intel on the Rheinlander movements here and in the occupied regions, and relay it to KNF Command as soon as you can do it. No need to hand it through me.

Kusari Naval Intelligence vigilance and initiative might prove crucial to the defense of our homelands. I trust you can do your part and then some.

Agent Majin, Signing off.

Konbanwa, Majin,
Long time no see!

Have a look at this mess
[Image: Zz9Jkqy.png]

Since we had this wonderful ceasefire enacted with House Rheinland, I took it on myself to go ahead of return to my Intel gathering scheme in House Bretonia.

Not that commanding Hyono's tenth squadron was boring or something, make no mistake, and perhaps I could have kept on waiting for something to happen but eh... What can I say.
Besides, we had an errand with Hayashimura not so long ago and I think that angered some people. More about that later.

But let's focus on today's matter.

It appears Gallic Royal Navy has finally launched their big offensive on planet New London. Turns out the high orbit is full of debris and wrecks of various origins. Casualties have been high on both sides, if you ask me.

But still I guess one could say this battle was won by House Bretonia and House Liberty. I guess that supergate project was very useful, in the end - I sent a memo to you about that little detail, right?

I'm counting the points anyway.

From the six Gallic Royal Navy Battle-groups deployed in New London system, at least two have been severely crippled:
- Battle-group Castres : the battleship wreck is floating in New London high orbit.
- Battle-group Le Cendre : Ditto.

Meanwhile, Baffies have lost battleship Suffolk while Norfolk was recalled from Cambridge system and Essex was re-positioned from Dublin system.

No doubt Mollies will appreciate that move, not to mention Cambridge system becoming open bar for Corsario Empire...

Meanwhile, Norfolk appeared to have moved to Southampton wreck with Battle-group Ottawa.
Speaking of which, Liberty Navy has currently two battleships in high orbit: Alma and Concord.

And that's pretty much all the news I could get about New London system...

Even Kogen Jien didn't try to pull that one

Now let's talk about Seto system.

Would you look at that. These are Gallic Royal Navy destroyers, positioned in a classic orbital blocus formation and oh. Yes.
They are bombarding Leeds.

I guess Royal Navy got tired of that cleansing operation going on planet-side. There is a lot of people trying to save as many people as they can before the planet turns into Hell. Ended up helping a Privateer one time or two as of late in that regard. Who would have thought.

Sounds pretty clear there will still be a lot of souls stuck on Leeds when things collapse though. Perhaps House Kusari should help? What do you think, Majin?

By the way...
I incidentally come to you with a request.
You see... Gathering all this Intel is dangerous, and it turns out I met some stupid Lane Hacker who pretty much ruined my ship.
So. Care sending me a couple of mechs to fix it, please?

Some credits wouldn't hurt either. I mean, the hull is pretty damaged.
That would be nice if they could show up on the Barrier next Sunday and talk to that Barman person "Dyke". He will give them a rendez-vous point in House Bretonia Sovereign space.

I hope you're not planning to send some rookies, Majin, you hear me?
Please do that for me.

Cordially,
Akai Hime.
