The ground trembled as a Serenity positioned itself above the landing pads of New Thessalonica, its four engines emitting a deafening roar as it set down on four massive legs. The ship's hull was a wild mixture of hull panels from all over sirius, bulked up by ugly, but functional, armour plates, probably just welded onto the ship in open space. There were few markings applied to the ship, just a few green stripes and two emblems of the Guard, one on top, one on the bottom, humbly announcing the ship's owners.
As the ship's mass finally settled on its landing gear, the engines hissed a little and began to gradually cool down, coughing a few times. Relative silence engulfed the pad, broken a few moments later by the opening of a small hatch, directly beneath one of the rear engines. A stepladder extended afterwards, down onto the landing pad below. A tall man emerged from the hatch, looking around his surroundings. His bald head was almost gleaming in the sun, his eyes obscured by some form of sunglasses. He wore a military-like uniform, mostly dark grey with green trimming and the Guard's emblem proudly placed on his chest. He checked something on a wrist display, slowly stepping down the ladder. A few other people followed, some of the uniforms black instead of grey. Upon reaching the pad, the man looked around once more, trying to locate any sort of welcoming committee that ought to be there, or at least on its way.
