Good morning, sirs and madams,
My name may or may not have crossed your desks before. I am Harold Kane, the Minister of Relations for the fledgling nation-state called Natio Octavarium. We have historically maintained positive relations with Bretonia, her people, and her organizations. In the recent months since our re-emergence in the upper Taus, we have continued to function in step with Bretonian interests, and have been generally operating in good faith with the Queen's dominion and her allies in the region. Unfortunately our disappearance from Sirian politics for some time made us disappear from the known diplomatic standings of many of the people we care about.
We have seen that these past years have been trying for Sirius. The Gallic invasion has affected all nations and people in different ways, but none have been hit with such fury and devastation as yours. And yet, Bretonia stands strong and true in the face of overwhelming force, a bastion of freedom and honour guarding that which it holds dear so its legacy will be a living one and not a memory. For this, we have the utmost respect.
In brief, we are interested in formally re-opening relations with Bretonia. We ask nothing of you save for your consideration of our existence and our past, present, and future cooperation with you.
God save the queen.
With warmest regards,
Harold Kane
Minister of Relations, Natio Octavarium
