Nomad indoctrination

To attention of General Walker of Apostatas. I have to admit you have quite an unusual name for a Cretan.

Following on by report and recommendation by Coalition agent Krsnik, The Order has been asked to elaborate on the subject of the Nomads. Seemingly the knowledge we had taught to the Corsairs in the past has been lost…

The Nomads are telepathic and bodiless species, existing as nothing more but collective of memories implanted into more individual drones that gives them corporeal nature as opposed to being an instance within sea of entire species collective hivemind. The drones are not “the” Nomads themselves, merely manifestations of their memories and experiences regularly backed up with the rest of the network in similar fashion to computer database. The Nomads are quasi-immortal: they do truly die only to be reborn into another drone frame further down the line with most recent copy of itself.

Despite both of our species consciousness being hosted by similarly built neural networks, vast majority of the non-infested humans do not inhibit any PSI abilities. On other hand, most of humanity is vulnerable to Nomad PSI attacks born out of their innate species-specific communication. We register that as visions, illusions and distorted thoughts that are not truly ours. We are receivers but not the senders as they are only capable of extracting intelligence from our memories only if physical infestation occurs by a parasite sub-class or we deliver it willfully through crafty manipulation.

The Nomads “Marduk”-class mind nodes which are amplifiers for their PSI powers and communications are capable of lethally overloading psyche of unaware human being. The Nomads possess means to destroy entire planets, as evidenced with Toledo. However they have one disadvantage in which they are clearly outclassed by us. Their numbers are relatively low and thus cannot take Sirian Houses in all-out conflict. They know about it and have tried to subvert House Militaries against each other in 800 A.S. colonial conflict. The House of Rheinland has again fell to the same tricks as of late…

The more you speak to them, the more open you become for their indoctrination. Das Wilde will be stopped by simple Order checkpoint at critical locations preventing an all-out subversion of starbase, however those who follow Nomads willingly cannot easily be detected. Enma Loyola, Core Guildmistress is just one of those entities. One type of these operatives acts out of dehumanized greed, co-opting to Nomad servitude in exchange of fulfilling own ambitions. The second type may happen in the thick of battle, weak mind being fed lies causing a pilot to perceive his own wingman as enemy fighters. That were the most common attempts to assassinate Order Admiralty in the past due to weak willpower of some of the recruits. In most cases it is temporary distortion of own perception but some suffer more permanent psychological trauma.

Agent Krsnik has made it clear that you are way too valuable of an asset to Corsairs and Humanity to allow such a human-error to jeopardize Apostatas-Coalition co-operation. There is no possible peace with the Nomads. Slomon K’Hara as our scientist name them want our star systems for themselves. I doubt anyone, even Corsairs themselves would forfeit their own homeworld and depart to live among dead stars that are of no use to the Nomads. There is furthermore no guarantee that Nomads wouldn’t simply follow and exterminate the remaining fugitives to simply remove the contenders to supremacy in this very galaxy. They do not value our lives any more than their already dispensable shells. Only when the noosphere falls silent as every single Nomad ceases to think, Sirius will see peace from this atrocious xenotype.

The Order will happily oblige to make sure it is Human civilization, not Nomad, that dominates this galaxy.
