EXCERPT FROM CAPTAIN HEIDER'S SPEECH TOWARDS HIS CREW

"Once, we were scared. In those harsh days of when we sheltered in our caves, holding our hands against meager fires, cowering in fear of the shadows. We were at the mercy of the night. Then, something happened. We became curious. We asked not what we were afraid of, but why we were afraid. The questions began to build up into a new emotion: Courage, and we stepped out of our shelters to explore the untamed world before us, fearless of the night, which soon brought forth morning, a new day.

That was the beginning.

Since then, we have grown, flourished, expanded. We first conquered the land, then the sea and sky. Soon, all of the world was before us, and we were not satisfied. We stared past the clouds in wonder, and saw the heavens staring back, inviting us. Sure enough, we soon found ourselves leaving our loving cradle, into the new infinity, to live among our gods, and surpass them all the same.

And that age has not ended. Today, we bear the torch passed on from our ancestors. Us, brave men and women, intent on leaving our shelter not for power, or glory, or money, but for something so simple, so pure, as human curiosity. Every one of us, the intrepid crew of the Minerva. And it is time for us to raise anchor, and set out for unkown waters; to find the end of this age, this starry frontier, and usher in a new one. Truthfully, I would not do so with anyone else. Godspeed, all of you."
