Database of Historical Warships

0 - Preamble -----

This internal database is a historical archive. It consists of a list of warships as fielded by each former fleet of the Vagrant Raiders and Natio Octavarium, including those that survived to future incarnations.

I - First Vagrant Fleet -----

Ia - Capital Ships -----

VCS Metropolis
Class: Spyglass-class Dreadnought
Designer: Vagrant Raiders, Hellfire Legion, Lane Hackers Inner Circle
Builder: Vagrant Raiders, Hellfire Legion, Lane Hackers Inner Circle
Commanding Officer: Harold Kane (821-824), formerly John Petrucci (810-818)
Executive Officer: Tobiah Nitzan (821-824), formerly James LaBrie (810-818)
Commissioned: 810 A.S. (First Vagrant Fleet)
Equipment: Standard era-appropriate anti-capital weapons loadouts. Grade C8 hull reinforcements. Wide-area hyperspace jump drive (822-824).
Fate: Lost in 818 A.S., presumed destroyed. Core recovered and reconstructed by Aquila Defense Systems and the Temporary Autonomous Zoners in 821 A.S. using partial plans obtained for an Arbiter-class dreadnought. Scuttled in 824 A.S. Spyglass core retained for further development.
Description: The Metropolis is the historical flagship of the Vagrant Raiders and later Natio Octavarium. It held design lineage to the original series of Spyglass-class dreadnoughts, and contained an active, fully functional Spyglass core and array. Originally commanded by Overlord John Petrucci, the flagship was under the care and leadership of Taskmaster Harold Kane after its reconstruction. The Metropolis was critically damaged due to stresses from battle and freestanding maintenance in 824 A.S. and was disassembled for parts before the Octavarium exodus. The hull of the ship was scuttled.

VCS Systematic Chaos
Class: Sarissa-class Outcast Battleship
Designer: Valetta Shipyards
Builder: Valetta Shipyards
Commanding Officer: Jada Zachary
Executive Officer: Unknown. Archive lost.
Commissioned: Circa 814 A.S. (First Vagrant Fleet)
Equipment: Standard era-appropriate anti-capital weapons loadouts. Grade C8 hull reinforcements.
Fate: Unknown. Missing, presumed destroyed sometime before the formation of the Third Vagrant Fleet.
Description: Originally MNS Cassus Belli, and later NTBS Cassus Belli and HFB Cassus Belli, the Systematic Chaos was purchased as a wreck by the Vagrant Raiders from the Hellfire Legion in 815 A.S. and recommissioned as a frontline warship under the command of Warlady Jada Zachary. The ship was critically damaged and lost in 818 A.S. at the Battle of Freeport One. No attempts were made to reclaim its hull, as its last known position was dangerously close to the sun’s corona. As Harold Kane once said, Jada would have wanted it to go out that way.

VCS Nightmare
Class: Storta-class Outcast Destroyer (RM-2A variant)
Designer: Valetta Shipyards
Builder: Valetta Shipyards
Commanding Officer: Dwight Novak
Executive Officer: Alexa Novak
Commissioned: Circa 815 A.S. (First Vagrant Fleet)
Equipment: Close-in anti-subcapital weapons loadout. Grade C6+ hull reinforcements.
Fate: [ Redacted by OIC, code 451. ]
Description: The Nightmare was the first Storta-class destroyer purchased by the Vagrant Raiders. Not much is available in archive data about the ship due to its station in the Vespucci system as a line of defense of the location of Fort Leniex. It was recalled for frontline service in the second wave of ships at the Battle of Freeport One and went missing in the aftermath with all hands aboard.

VCS Black Cloud
Class: Storta-class Outcast Destroyer (RM-2A variant)
Designer: Valetta Shipyards

Equipment: Anti-capital artillery and guided missile destroyer weapons loadout. Grade C6+ hull reinforcements.
Fate: Lost in 818 A.S. after the Battle of Freeport One. Presumed destroyed.
Description: One of a pair of identical ships purchased by permission of the Council of Dons, the Black Cloud was a destroyer constructed by Valetta Shipyards as a project resourced and financed by the Raiders. Its last known position was trailing the Systematic Chaos into the pull of the Omega-3 sun.

VCS Silver Lining

Fate: Critically damaged in 818 A.S. after the Battle of Freeport One. Partially salvaged.
Description: The Silver Lining was the sister ship to VCS Black Cloud. It was the personal flagship of Taskmaster Harold Kane after his promotion to high command in 817 A.S. The ship was critically damaged in the Battle of Freeport One and was later partially salvaged by Aquila Defense Systems for the reconstruction of the Metropolis.

VCS Caught in a Web

Equipment: Standard anti-fighter frigate weapons loadout. Grade C6+ hull reinforcements.
Fate: Unknown. Missing, presumed destroyed sometime before the formation of the Third Vagrant Fleet.
Description: Purchased from the Buffalo Rogues as a heavy interdiction vessel, the Never Enough was used for cargo piracy in Liberty and the Independent Worlds until it disappeared during the dissolution of the Second Vagrant Fleet. The last known power-on from its location transponder was received by VCS Metropolis in 821 A.S., possibly pointing at it being broken down and reprogrammed at a Rogue chop shop.

Executive Officer: Unknown. Archive lost.
Commissioned: Before 815 A.S. (First Vagrant Fleet)
Equipment: Standard anti-fighter frigate weapons loadout. Grade C5 hull reinforcements.
Fate: Critically damaged and broken down for spare parts.
Description: Logs of the operational history of VGS Silence are few and far between. The best estimates as to its dates of commissioning and decommissioning are questionable in accuracy. Parts of the ship still exist according to labels on crates in the stockrooms of Aquila Defense Systems that have not been touched in nearly a decade.

VGS Disguised
Class: Interrogator-class Lane Hacker Gunship
Designer: Lane Hackers
Builder: Lane Hackers

Description: Much to the chagrin of the archivists working on this document, there is almost no data available about the Disguised or its history apart from being a sister ship to the Silence and being used as a partial donor hull for repairs in 817 A.S.

VGS Take the Time

Fate: Scrapped for parts to perform field repairs on the Retaliator circa 818 A.S.
Description: One of the original Interrogator-class Lane Hacker Gunships provisioned for the Vagrant Raiders, the Take the Time was on the light end of ships piloted by Warlady Jada Zachary. It was scrapped for repair parts after the Battle of Freeport One but lives on in spirit within the hull of the modern Octavarium command ship OCS Repentance.

VGS Retaliator
Class: Tridente-class Outcast Gunship

Equipment: Standard anti-fighter frigate weapons loadout. Grade C6 hull reinforcements.
Fate: Abandoned in 818 A.S. Partially recovered in 821 A.S. and used to build VGS (later OCS) Repentance.
Description: Originally the personal gunship of Taskmaster Dwight Novak, his promotion to captain of the destroyer Nightmare left the Retaliator in the hands of Harold Kane. The ship was abandoned in the Magellan system after the Battle of Freeport One and partially recovered a few years later for technology to reduce construction costs on the Repentance.
II - Second Vagrant Fleet -----

IIa - Capital Ships -----

In a move considered baffling to the archivists working on this database, the Second Vagrant Fleet possessed no capital-grade warships. Archived communications logs suggest that the Warlord of the Second Vagrant Fleet unsuccessfully hunted for the wreck of VCS Systematic Chaos and believed VCS Silver Lining to have been stolen by Taskmaster Harold Kane after the Battle of Freeport One.

IIb - Subcapitals -----

VGB Never Enough

Description: Purchased from the Buffalo Rogues as a heavy interdiction vessel, the Never Enough was used for cargo piracy in Liberty and the Independent Worlds until it disappeared during the dissolution of the Second Vagrant Fleet. The last known power-on from its location transponder was received by VCS Metropolis in 821 A.S., possibly pointing at it being broken down and reprogrammed at a Rogue chop shop.

VXX Smoke and Mirrors
