Kelly,

That's fine by me. The Cloud's stay with the Fleet is intended to be a defensive one anyways.

You know, I've never really thought about having kids, so I have exactly no idea how to come up with a decent name to give someone. How does Risa grab you? Like "Lisa", but with an R.

Harold
Ambassador Ogden,

Why in the blue hell is there a note on my desk asking me to have some band of Corsair pirates removed from our targetting database? Do you really, honestly think we can reason with them? I think you've lost your mind, but I've already given the order. Let's hope we don't wake up tomorrow morning on a Cretan buffet line.

Administrator,

Let's talk about the phrase "executive decision".

When one reach certain points in his or her esteemed career that places them in a position where the incidents of a diplomatic type cross their desk, one tends to need to think quickly. Doubly so when a fleet of battleships will likely be dismantling the room that desk is located in if judgement is not exercised in a precise yet swift manner. This Custodi situation is one of the latter variety. These overriding, consultation-free judgement calls are known as executive decisions, and when life and limb of hundreds of innocent souls are held in the balance by a force requiring the delivery of one such executive decision to defuse the situation, it tends to be made rather quickly.

I have made an executive decision in an attempt to save the lives of the people aboard our humble southwestern exclave. Let us pray I do not need to make another one this week.

Ambassador Ogden
Taskmasters,

Operation was a nine out of ten success. Minor catch entering Kusari forced us to redirect to the old homestead and took a chunk out of our expense account, but we didn't need to play full-court jungleball. The Professorship is handling the followup.

The founder of the Inner Circle will be sending you a comm shortly. A serious matter, something about a theft.

Oda
Ambassador Ogden,

In your deliberations about the Custodi's ultimatum, I ask that you give serious thought to this bit of ancient Earth poetry.

It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
   For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say: –

"We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
   No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that plays it is lost!"

If you don't understand it the first time, reread it until you do.

Administrator, Ambassador,

Let's talk about the phrase "executive decision".

I am making one.

Eureka can be replaced. You both can be replaced. Stay out of the way.

One can comply with a demand, yet still give the other party something they do not want.

And that is all you have clearance to know. I have calls to make.

Oh, and yes, I do read your messages.

Escher,

I trust you pulled anything sensitive out of Melbourne when the Commission moved to Canberra. We're pulling all the computers and networking gear out now, should be ready to start disassembling the modular structure in the next few hours.

Upkeep has been too much. I'd rather keep the growing population fed. We're pushing seventy thou now, what with all the refugees coming out of Bretonia and the Corridor, and while we're not anywhere near looking into rationing or anything, warm bodies and full bellies make for people who feel safe and at home. We want to be able to keep each round of newcomers feeling like they've finally come home.

Kane
Kane,

We had everything sensitive moved within two weeks of the completion of the Watch.

I believe the traditional thing to say is something to the effect of "I'm going to miss that old office", but I'm not.

It was a closet.

Taskmaster Kane,

I flew with Bombardier Riley today, and we conversed about the war, among other things.

Monitor him. Should the Roi fall and be replaced by the Council, you'll need to keep him on a short leash. Where you and I share a great distaste for the Crown, he extends that to all of Gallic descent.

A diplomatic incident waiting to happen.

He's still a capable pilot that generally follows instructions, he's just a bit too invested in killing Gauls.

Shiranui, OIC
Kane,

Between the spike of refugees we picked up as Gallia moved on New London and Riley's offer of resettlement for the Zoners of Canaria, we need to set up some proper police instead of leaving it to the Fleet. I do not object to Riley's offer, but security must be accounted for.

To that end, I recommend Bombardier Nathan Archer and Specialist Ken Matsuda to head this initiative. Agent Shiranui will also assist in setting things up. Shiranui has past experience in the field, and Matsuda was with the KSP prior to... unfortunate decisions that were made. Archer's experience in civilian security likewise makes him a capable asset for the task.

Bombardier Lundin has the appropriate skills, but I don't believe he has the right mindset. He's better left with the Fleet.

Do you have any people in mind?
