Greetings,

Please forgive me as it has been some time since I was last in Bering and do not remember who is in charge. The last time I was there, it was requested of me to arrive and remove my medical personnel from the station due to the events of the time in which Zoner leadership was replaced. I did not want to leave two young, female medical personnel there who had no combat training should the need arise for them to have to use it due to boarding or something.

I do not know the current status of conflict there. In the past, I denounced a Zoner operative using force to retake the base. Nonetheless, I am prepared to do what I have done to every Freeport in Sirius and some other private bases as well, extend the offer of supplying some medical personnel to your station with all of the medicine, equipment and needs that they will require to sustain operations. I will also supply the base with food, water, oxygen and whatever else you all might need to supplement the populace there. Note that I do not ship arms or munitions. I will also evacuate casualties and any personnel you may need removed.

I seek no compensation as credits as I work a non-profit Enterprise. I can have these people to you in less than a day if you are good with this and there are no strings attached. All I ask is that whatever personnel that are there are kept safe and treated fairly.

With respect,
Dr. John Henry Holliday

"Doctor, it’s a miracle to hear from you. I’ve got your file on my desk.

I’m Semre Rohm, Unioner Providence Delegation. I’ll cut the ceremony. People are coughing vomitus. This late in the war, any sense of a controlled zone between Unioner and Seperatist space has broken down. Combat is sporadic through the whole western system. Civilians like you and me get run down in the fire. It gets worse when transponders don’t tell the truth. The Seperatists don’t distinguish between independent freelancers, traders, political refugees, Unioner pilots or Unioner populaces, and the pro-seperatists mercs hide amongst the civilian population, even here, aboard station. We don’t have the resources to ID them all.
The Rat Pack has been quiet for months, although there’s no prizes for guessing why, Doctor. The Seperatists have branded all independents in the System who came to the belt to hide from the houses as criminals and pirates. Some are, some aren’t. Most are just individualists with nowhere else to run.
They’ve pulled out of Providence completely nearly two months ago, although we still run into Seperatists in the local airspace coming to and from Bristol Station, a supply depot that runs neutral transponders but was co-constructed with the Unioners on Seperatist payroll back before the conflict broke out – half of the station’s population wants to gut the Seperatists open for imposing flight control legislature and forcing unregistered transports to dump cargo – which meant their tenure here lost its sustainability short of sending in a brace of marines. The Union sticks to its dedication to keep the belt free for anyone who needs a place to hide and independent of house goverments, so we’re privately provisioning the cells aboard the station.

The Union can’t get sufficient SAR resources up to rescue every pilot that ejects out there. Unaffiliated entities have to do with prayer – the Seperatists have taken the attitude that there are no unlawful non-combatants out there, that all targets are acceptable, which means our SAR freighters require fighter escort, which in-turn takes away from sortie ops.
There’s hundreds of lives that can’t be saved out here without a nonpartisan Medical team, doctor. We’ve been in humanitarian crises control for months and neither side has the resources to cover their injured, combatants or not. The Seperatists won’t admit to this, but they’re in worse shape than we are.
The first need is pharmaceuticals. We can’t get antiradiation and anticoagulant drugs to the station fast enough. "

"Do your staff a favour; don't trust the Separatists. We saved them from destruction, fought with them for a year, and they shot us. Don't trust the Separatists. You and I see humanitarian resources, they see war supplies. They've already shot at the Gaians, Freelancers, and Natio Octavarium for bringing in medical supplies to the Union after the Pacifica strike. They'll do the same to you."

"They're fascists, Doctor. Separatists do not care about Humanitarian considerations."

It is good to hear from you. I will be leaving within the hour to join the crew of doctors, staff and equipment that is waiting on Planet Houston which will be bound for the Freeport. I will also keep it supplied myself. I will heed your warning about the separatists. While I am there, if I can find a way to broker some peace, I will try.
