In service of the Roi!

The New London Blitz

On the 23rd of Novembre, the Gallic Royal Navy began its full-scale incursion into the New London system, the capital of the Kingdom of Bretonia. Through a show of intellectual and technological superiority over the Bretonians, the Royal Navy has managed to easily outperform their foes and cripple most of the vital military infrastructure within the New London system in the initial hours of the incursion.

Southampton Shipyard was successfully captured (albeit scuttled by the enemy) in the Battle of Southampton during the blitz, and the majority of its defending fleet has been destroyed, disabled or routed. A crucial blow to the adversary, the battleship HMS York has been disabled in the battle after it reportedly missed Le Cendre, a Valor of all targets, in a last-ditch attempt to perform a ramming maneuver.

A number of rumours related to the leadership of Bretonian captains have begun circulating after this incident; the majority mention that most Bretonian captains and admirals have already abandoned their posts after anticipating their defeat, resulting in incompetent and inexperienced commanders taking the role of captains and admirals in their wake.

Capitaine de frégate Jean L'Herminier of the MRG spontaneously commented: "We must've gotten all the good, reasonable leaders out during the first strikes. Now they're down to detonating everything they own just so that we can't have it. The logic of vile peasants, no doubt about that!"

Liberty Reinforcements Crushed

Days after the New London Blitz, the Republic of Liberty sent multiple capital warships to try to resist the Royal Navy's push into New London, however a large number of these ships were intercepted and destroyed before they could rendezvous with the now-desperate defenders of New London. It has been reported that ships belonging to the Corsair Empire assisted the Royal Navy against the Republic's reinforcements.

It will not take long until the entirety of New London is under Royal Navy control and the war declared officially over. A large number of Gallic warships are now converging towards Planet New London. The final confrontation and destruction of the last line of Bretonian defence is estimated to come in the following few weeks. MRG chief of staff Isabelle Montlaville de Chanteloup declined to comment upon this estimation, saying she had "better things to do" but that "victory [was] naturally a given. Who do you take me for?"

The Royal Navy advises all residents and visitors against travelling in the New London system until the conflict is over and the Royal Navy begins peacekeeping operations, as it is likely that the system will be full of deserters and criminal elements that separated from the Bretonian Armed Forces.

Picardy Crime Increase

A number of reports indicate that crime is on the rise in the Picardy system, most of which appears to be instigated by the traitorous Council. The Gallic Royal Police has issued a warning statement advising against traveling to the northern part of the system where most of these attacks take place.

The Royal Police have restricted trade lane access from Planet Amiens to the Saint-Quentin Space Colony until order is restored. All travelers are advised to travel only via trade lane networks and report any suspicious behaviour or sightings to your nearest GRP contact. The Royal Police spokesperson has assured that this is completely under control and normal traffic will resume very soon: "These are merely isolated skirmishes, committed by desperate hardliners. Listen to the instructions of our agents, don't relay rumours; There is nothing to fear."

The Government wishes to remind you that speaking ill of the Roi and the Kingdom is a crime, and any incidents of such are to be reported to your nearest GRP contact. The Council and their propaganda target weak-willed men and women who exhibit a lack of core Gallic values and are convinced to join their ranks to commit acts of terrorism against their own, as seen with the Gap Station Incident.
