General Information:
ID: Pirate
Faction Tag: Lucas|
Naming: Lucas|2/3-Digit-Number (e.g. Lucas|00 or Lucas|000)

Origin and Information:

Founded in late 825 AS, Lucrative Utopia created amongst Scum, or in short LUCAS, is a group consisting of several people whose interests differ greatly. Their members are people of every corner in Sirius, however it is estimated that around 80% of the members are actually a former Civilian of the major Houses within Sirius (Liberty, Bretonia, Kusari, Rheinland). The origin of the other 20% are split between the Border,- and Edgeworlds, the Colonial Republic, and even Gallia.
With recent major development in the houses such as the Rheinland-Kusari war alongside the Gallic march towards the Bretonian Capital, the people's urge to not only sit still anymore rose. While many of them decided to put these urges to use and join either Corporations, the ranks of a Military or Police, or take a job on a Station or Planet, others just are not satisfied with that. The lust for destruction, the greed and in some cases only interest are reasons for civilians to turn away from modern society and drift afloat into the ways of pirating, slavery or simply murder. Drug addictions alongside the mentioned things are common traits amongst the people of LUCAS.

Due to the various and vast differences in the origin of the members, a system was created to prevent any escapades and escalations between each other, based on calling each other by Numbers instead of Names. While this has been criticized by a few of the members, most of them can actually live with it and the system has proven to reduce the number of conflicts within LUCAS by over 50%. Because of the nature of the group, however, conflicts and miscommunication are still issues that LUCAS faces on a daily bases, which rarely go beyond the exchange of fist-blows however. Ethical conflicts, as well as conflicts due to religion and beliefs can only be stopped to a certain degree without enforcing laws and rules, after all.

The Group believes that working together to achieve the goals of a single individual alongside fulfilling the interests of the group are the best way to do things. Based on that, encounters with Transports, Law-Enforcing Parties or even other Freelancing Individuals are oftentimes multi-functional. While one group will just strip the victim of anything that they've got, others will not hesitate to engage in violent behavior, kidnapping or worse.
The results of a successful pirating, as well as the costs of the members' used craft, are split between each member. The difference in payment is agreed upon after each strike and is evaluated by the usefulness of the individual member, their goal for the specific encounter and the things that they received besides the physical goods.

However, all of this does not mean that members of LUCAS are not able to properly fulfill their roles. With the large variety of ethnic groups, as well as vast differences of former social standards all contribute to the large number of ideas and plans that those members can come up with, a solution for most situations is found quickly. For that to work, a trust between the members is required and as such LUCAS does not accept pilots whose capability to work in teams does not meet the standards.

Ranking Structure:

Due to the nature of LUCAS, a formal Ranking Structure is nonexistant and would be unable to be upheld under any conditions.
Despite that, there are two groups of members that the group has 'created', yet these do not represent their rights within the group, they are merely a symbol for the members' loyalty.
  • Senior Members - People who have been in the group for a while and successfully earned the trust of the members.
  • Rookie Members- People who only recently joined the group and have to yet prove themselves to the others.

Faction Goals:
  • Fulfill each members individual goals - this includes working together as a group if a member is in need of assistance, despite your own view on the topic. Members support each other, and do not work against each other.
  • Get Wealthy - Who with a sane mind would not want to get really wealthy, after all it's money that rules the Universe.
  • Create a Bond between Members - Acceptance means overcoming, and immoral mindsets working together as opposed to against each other work very well.
  • Spread Fear and Terror - That's what LUCAS mainly does. Teaching uncareful pilots a deadly lesson.

Bases of Operation:

Naturally, as Independant Pirates, Smugglers and Murderers, LUCAS does not have access to many Mooring,- and or Docking Points in Sirius.

Ithaca Base, Omega-7 System, is one of the two bases that is actually administrated by Pirate Groups and Organisations. Hidden in the Walker-Cloud, this base offers perfect protection against all sorts of Law-Enforcement Patrols and can be used as a Fallback/Meetup-Point before and after planned strikes. Refueling smaller craft on the base is also possible, making it basically a must-know on every member's Navmap. Leaking Information to other Pirates on the base is not advised, as the people on it are as shady,- if not even shadier than you are. Docking at your own risk.

Freeport-2, Bering System, is the second bases that is under the control of a group similar to LUCAS. We have docking access to this base as well, and with its position in Bering it can be quite a hotspot for members. The Location of the base between two Houses (Liberty and Rheinland) makes it perfect to carry out pirating operations. Unlike Ithaca, however, the base is not hidden as well. It is connected directly to a Trade-Lane and as such is very easy to reach. Furthermore, the Freeport-2 is not only used by Pirates, but also by Groups including the Unioners and the Liberty Separatists. Those do not necessarily share the same interests as us, so talking to them is not advised. However, since both of these parties are regularly swarming around the Freeport alongside other Pirates, Freelancers and more, fleeing towards the Station after an encounter with a Law-Enforcement patrol can be a life saver. This station is a double-edged sword in those senses, but having the location on your Navmap is highly advised.

Zoner Bases
These bases do let us dock most of the time and even offer a bubble around them in which they enforce their policy of not shooting other things. While you are around a Zoner Installation, you are to behave according to what they and their laws have to say, as you risk removal of your docking rights otherwise.
Zoner Installations include:
  • The Freeports, with the exception of Freeport 2
  • Shashta Orbital Skyhook, Baffin System
  • Ames Research Station, Kepler System
  • Planet Gran Canara, Omega-49 System
  • Betlehem Station, Pennsylvania (Be careful when using this one, it is very deep within lawful territory)
Unlawful Bases
Those bases are not going to be used often, and only if we get permission by the owners of the respective stations.
Should you get permission to dock on one of these bases then take the opportunity to refuel, make deals with the people on the station but do not reside on them. They are not trustworthy until proven otherwise.

Zone of INTEREST (Not to be confused with Zone of Influence):

A rule of thumb: If there is profit to be made, then you can expect LUCAS to show up.

More specifical information:
The main zones of Interest are made off the main houses of Sirius, as they usually have a massive amount of Traders.
Secondary zones of Interest are the Omicrons, which do have their own Corporations and groups that require Traders to deliver them with goods that we have an interest in as well.
Everything else is still of Interest, but with the lack of targets they are likely to be visted less often.

Allowed Tech:

These Vessels are LUCAS' main ships and most likely the ones that you are going to be seeing.

The IDC K-LF-337 "Stargazer" Civilian Shuttle is the only Snubcraft that LUCAS can effectively repair, fuel and control. It's low cost and wide availablity make it very easy to obtain.
On top of that comes the fact that the ship is very small and nimble, making it the perfect craft for hit and run tactics or to strike against heavily armored craft with slowly firing weaponry.

The IDC K-FR-2303 "Sunburst" Civilian Freighter forms the backbone of the Logistics of LUCAS. Just like the Stargazer, this ship is very cheap and widely available. It's relatively large Cargo-Bay combined with its unharmful appearance and decent firepower make it a deadly weapon for Captains (& their Cargo) who mistake it for a friendly trader. It has also got a relatively decent hull and is able to absorb a few hits if necessary, but it is suggested to avoid taking damage as much as possible.

These Vessels are much harder to obtain and not seen as often.

As the name suggests, the DSE-720 "Camara" Civilian Freighter is a vessel that is built by DSE. We do not have a wide variety of spare parts for these things and compared to the Sunburst, they are relatively costly to keep running. On top of that, the ship is lacking the systems to disable the Cruising-Engines of Targets, which makes it a terrible thing for pirating on your own. However, do not let that fool you. This ship is a deadly weapon in combat, and that is what it should be mainly used for.
The Z-6150 "Bactrian" Pirate Freighter is a very nice alternative to the Sunburst. It is slightly tankier, but also larger. It's not as easy for LUCAS to get a hold of these vessels as it requires Black-Market deals, but it is manageable and the ship has proven its worth already. Overall, it can be a deadly Hunter, but defend itself from smaller craft. Due to it's size however, using it within Asteroid Fields is not as easy. Spare parts for repairs can be bought easily, and the ship is not very Fuel-intensive.

//OORP SECTION
There's not much to put here as of now, as we do not really want to force people to write up a character and rather have one develop over the ingame encounters with other members or other people.

Thank you very much for taking your time to read this.
Don't forget Freeport 6 in the Tau 29 system.
Lucrative Utopia created amongst Scum potentially one of THE best Acronyms ever

Is there anything special about Freeport 6?
The freeports are mentioned, but Freeport 2 got a special paragraph because it is ran by actual Pirates.
This is gold. Also add a Waran to the ships and I'm in <3
You mad bastard. This is going to be great.
Oh, you actually did it you beautiful madman! Love the accronym you came up with. Good luck Smile
Would it be possible for a character to use a Border Worlds series ship in this group? Considering that you have all sorts of people in there and all that. I'm thinking about something like a Switchblade (so that it's not as mainstream as the Sabre). Anyway, it sounds interesting.
dat moment you think this is in flood first and then you realise it is a real thing :| Clever i must say.
How I didn't see this before. To be honest the most selfish thing I ever seen in disco XD
