"Sirius is rotten, it's made us the worms. It'll drown from what it's made of us. Who'se to blame when the reaper comes for all of us? The sailor who didn't copper bottom the boat, will point at the holes and call us the problem. And we won't have the mouths to speak against him. "

Birth Name:Gunda Riehl.

Age: 34 (born in 792 AS. 8-9 years of age during the events of Vanilla Freelancer).

Affiliations: Wedel Unioners (now defunct). Alster Union cell. Pacifica Union cell.

Birth sex: Female.

Gender: Woman.

Economic prosperity: [/color] Poor by the standards of house worlds.

Vocation: Insurgent. Civil Engineer. Combat pilot. Enforcer.

Birthdate: January the 5th.

Years active: 823 to 826 After Sirius.

Parents:Killian Riehl, father. Unknown Unioner mother, likely a slave owned by Killian Riehl.

Brief history: Gunda Riehl was the unclaimed child of a slave owned by notorious Rheinlandic-Libertonian-Molly slaver and arms dealer, Killian Riehl, an ex-Unioner underboss thrown out of the movement after placing a hit on a Unioner rival. Shortly before being sold to the Maltese plantations upon crossing the Hamburg System, Killian Riehl's pilgrim liner was boarded violently by the Alster Unioners, who believed that unionist-sympathetic civilians had been sold to Killian as part of a bogus human trafficking operation. The seven year old Riehl was effectively press-ganged into the Unioners, narrowly avoiding a life of cardamine dependency under the harsh Maltese star.

The criminal exposure of Riehl's father prevented her from integrating into life in a Unioner hostel planetside. Brought up aboard Wedel Mining station - largely considered the most dangerous pirate base in Rheinland at the time - Riehl was raised by the station's volunteer engineer divisions in relatively impoverished - if well-nurtured - conditions. Riehl grew to idolise and resent those Rheinland citizens who knew a life above the law.

Determined to leave the station, Riehl enlisted as a EVA engineer in Unioner raiding operations from age seventeeen upward. In her early twenties, Riehl graduated to combat pilot, and has since taken on increasing responsibilities and dangerous assignents with every survived raid. Riehl lead her own squadron of technically-able pacifica Unioners, Hræsvelgr wing, drawn from volunteers from across every Unioner cell. Known for the green markings on their helmets, the Hræsvelgrs, Green's Ghouls or simply Green Squadron, has fought in every major conflict since the Von Boyle administration - with numbers and compositions differing according to combat losses, retirement, and medical availability.

Riehl is likely one of the most notorious Unioner pilots within organisations hostile to the Unioners, for her tendency to lambast the enemy over the Neuralnet. This has come to an obvious sacrifice of personal security; Gunda can never set foot on a lawful planet where the Unioners are wanted by the law without a fear of discovery under her own name.

Ideology: Cynical. Utilitarian in regards to herself. Will place her own life above that of her comrades.

Ethical desires: Chaotic good. Gunda's personal happiness is defined by her abillity to see the Unioners thrive, survive, and live without fear of arrest. Gunda actively attempts to steal only the bare minimum of assets required to maintain Unioner operations. Gunda will sympathise with the crewmembers and even well-off captains of trade vessels that she pirates, especially if they are co-operative. Gunda dreams of a Rheinland - and Sirius at large, devoid of war, class division, and strife. She just can't see a route to realise this belief. Gunda is not self-interested and has zero ambition for personal wealth, and has no personal ambition to take on political responsibility. It is this lack of ambition which has made Gunda a comfortable operative in any of the widely different cells of the spaceborne Unioners.

Ethical reality: Chaotic evil. Gunda is a notorious terrorist and pirate responsible for countless crimes in East Liberty, the Independent Systems, and Sigmas. Gunda usually shows less inclination to commit war crimes than the average Sirian pirate, but will follow orders to do so without particular cause. Gunda participated in Lukas Keller's assassination of former Arbeitsdirektor Hansel Garen simply because she was requested to do so by her peers. Despite Gunda's claims to be a civilian and to advocate for civilians, Gunda has been a participant and even a commander in indiscriminate attacks against civillians orchestrated by Unioner hard liners with views far removed from the Unioner norm.

Motivations: Overriding, extremely warped, sense of fairness and justice, deranged from standard conventional ethics. Extremist attitude to the application of Unioner philosophy. Apolitical pragmatically, but will always attempt to convince her enemies before engaging them. Obsessed with attacking the egos of her opponents. Anarchist belief systems. Will attack any sense of social proprietary or class. Gunda believes in a syndicalist utopian worldview defined by brotherhood between communities of practice, free of usury economics. Gunda has an extreme distrust of bankers and insurance providers, such as interspace commerce. Gunda ultimately has a cowboy mentality in a universe that lacks room for such events.

Psychology: Vitriolic resentment towards racist attitudes. Extreme rage towards perceived arrogance. Little sense of self-worth. Exercises a inspirational leadership profile based upon camaraderie and standing up for one's peers, no matter the circumstances, including to situations of tactical loss. Appears to enjoy vengeance. Paranoiac. Appears to delight in crafting increasingly creative insults for her enemies. Tends to wax philosophical when her guard is down.

Medical conditions:Tourette's syndrome. Deluded belief in their own abillity to convince their opponents. Post Traumatic Stress disorder. Buried existential anxiety. Gunda appears to enjoy committing crimes, including extreme crimes up to and including indiscriminate terrorism against those who she considers destructive and monstrous, but appears to not be ethically immune to her own actions, despite delighting in them. Gunda is known to consume nox during periods of intense rage.

Abilities: Gunda shows a conventional Unioner competency at mechanical engineering, applied primarily to spacecraft survival and habitat engineering; skillsets which are required heavily within the Unioners. Gunda's skillsets are mostly hands-on and are not exceptional within the Unioners. Riehl is primarily a combat pilot - she appears to be better in group engagements than individually. Her piloting abillity has been known to differ wildly depending on circumstances. Riehl's primary asset is as a leader-of-men in combat scenarios.

Gunda's primary advantage appears to be an inordinate ability, be it by luck or misfortune, to have survived through nearly all of the major engagements and geopolitical sea-changes that have happened to the Alster Unioners in the last four years.

Medical conditions: Possible minor radiation poisoning. Medically infertile. Successful thyroid cancer survivor.

Friendships:Gunda has numerous friendships and aquaintences who she views positively, both within the Unioners, and elsewhere.

Sexuality: Gunda is attracted primarily to other women. Gunda is extremely suspicious of male sexuality. Possible post traumatic experience.

Romantic relationships: Gunda has had a brief romantic relationship with the ex-Unioner cell-leader, Mary Annalise Dross, before Dross's defection to the coalition. Gunda is fostering a romantic relationship with Dr Katrina Depperschmidtt of the Freeman Drive commune. Gunda does not willingly foster new connections and is usually suspicious of any Unioner who tries to come too close. Gunda is believed to have had a non-romantic sexual relationship with engineering directorate Unionist Katya Daschner in the distant past.

Characters Close to Gunda: Valentina Depperschmidtt, John Silverstone, Doctor John Holiday, Sun Koken, James Trenton, Karl Reise, Megaera, Rosalina Romanov, Petra Prozchakova, Katya Daschner, Francoise Rousse, Warlord Moka, James Riley, Harold Kane, Mary Annalise Dross, amongst others. Gunda appreciates characters who are selfless, earthly, dedicated, cynical, or passionate.

Characters despised by Gunda: Ezreal Vertiga, Keeper Leviathan, Geoffrey Enfield, Victoria Knight, Mary Annalise Dross, Lukas Keller, Samuel Locklear, Annabelle Heinrich. Gunda despises strategic thinkers, or anyone she suspects values personal ambition over that of the collective. Gunda has an exceptional hatred for anyone she regards as exclusionist - be they classist, racist, or otherwise, regarding them as the source of Sirius's ills.

Ship of choice: Arbeiter very heavy fighter.
