Ah, O-hai-yo.
This is my first entry since I had purchased my vessel. Never intended to log my journey, however since my near-death experience of carelessly flying towards a mine-field, I realized I shouldn't leave my black-box empty.
So, how do I begin. Well, I began my exploratory journey of the Gallic Sector by entering Languedoc System. I've explored and attempted to visit every man-made station and settled planet in this system.
Shortly after, I was made an offer to gather some Azurite Gas for a wealthy sum. With the route to Omnicron Delta provided, I hastily made my way. I had passed through Dauphine, Burgundy, and Lorraine.
It was in Lorraine where my navigation were unclear. It had set coordinates for empty space. I presumed it must have been a jump-hole and blindly set my ship to auto-pilot. Upon approaching the coordinates, my ship's alarms blared. Scariest. Moment. Of. My. Life.
"Warning: Entering Mine Field"
Seconds later, an explosion shook my ship, then another.
"Warning! Shields down!"
I jumped back into my cockpit and halted my ship before it could run into more mines. Great kami, I nearly died that moment. Took a while for me to scan my surroundings in search for a safe way to exit, and embarrassingly enough, there was a giant gap within the mine field just a few meters away from me.
I followed the curved path and there I saw it, a jump-hole to an unknown destination. It looked kind of pretty, shame it has been caged by a crazy death trap.
Though I kind of regret it now, I closed my eyes and prayed to the hikari that it would lead me directly in Omnicron Delta but turned out the jump-hole led me to, what I was told was, Tau-53. I wandered about while giving my ship's navigational systems to re-orient itself, and landed on a seemingly friendly station, Genoa Base.
Hah, turned out this base belonged to the Outcasts! I'm glad I kept my harvesting job quiet lest I be charged some passage tax by the outcasts.
Well, I digress, my ship's energy reserves have been restocked and I've got a bill to pay. On towards... where-ever my navigational systems tell me to go.
Lesson of the day: I ought to pay more attention to the autopilot... and I probably should stop closing my eyes for long periods of time while cruise control is on. Eh, will I learn from my mistakes? Maybe...

Bonjour mon ami!
Hehe, see what I did there? I'm trying to learn French! Met a quiet transport today, guess my french was so bad they didn't bother replying.
Anyways, I mapped out Dauphine and just went through the Ile-De-France Jump gate.
I have to say, these Gallic trade lanes and jump-gates are rather beautiful.
During my exploration, I happened across Montelimar Base, owned by the Council. Not quite sure what their stance is as my french is poor. I only understood that they aren't too friendly with the government. A little surprising to me as most of the anti-government groups in this sector don't take kindly to my presence.
Perhaps there is something more to the Council.
As per usual, I have attached a map of the Dauphine System to this recording.
Ah, I almost forgot... it seems like the news reports on the Gallic stations REALLY like to report on old news from almost a century ago. Isn't there nothing news worthy to report about within this system? Also, I think I should get my ship checked out, there's some weird shouting going on and my food and water have been disappearing... I really hope I didn't pick up some hitch hikers.
Lesson of the day: When loading cargo, don't forget to update the manifest log.

Bonjour New Paris!
My first stop in the Ile-De-France System. Well, technically my second, as I visited the enormous station, the Fontainebleau Residence. Turns out it was run by the Gallic Police. Nice bunch, they didn't hassle me for landing. Hrmm..
I guess New Paris was third, cause I did visit the Montmartre Space Colony as well... remember the weird noise and the rapid consumption of my ship's supply of food and water? Turned out I forgot I took on a job to transport 260~ adventure seeking people... Seems like I forgot to log it too... haha...
Well, I'm currently sitting at an amazing Cerf d'etoile (?) cafe having me some fancy french drink. Please, no one tell me the ingredients, I want to keep the memory of this drink as a good one.
No more weird shouting in my ship facilities and I'm definitely going to start logging what I put in my cargo hold. A bit of hauling while exploring can't hurt... right?

Time-Date: 20:10 SMT 29-05-826 AS
Bonjour Marseille!
I'm here sitting in my cockpit, looking out at the amazing view that is the Marseille oceans. The Provence System is pretty interesting. Some Paris residents had mentioned it was an outlaw's haven while others could only rave about the Cannes Resort.
I suppose this time, I had an itinerary. Cannes Resort, Marseille, and Monte Carlo.
First off Cannes Resort was amazing. Beautiful rooms, entertainment alll around, and air as fresh as if it were on a bountiful planet. Can't forget the view of the Planet Aix. I suppose the only eye sore are the remains of the Royalist and Council fighters and gunboats.
As I left to explore the rest of the system, I tried salvaging some of these ships. Nada. They've probably been swiped clean by someone more dedicated to such a task.
Anyways, I visited Monte Carlo and picked up 200 units of food rations, prior to visiting Marseille. For a planet that just recently experienced a surge in population from the resurfacing of sunken cities, they must be facing some sort of crisis in terms of food or infrastructure. Apparently not.
As I landed and unloaded food rations, the populace seemed like they were just fine. Seeking consumer products and luxury over necessities. I suppose they're all good...? It's a shame.
Well, my time in Provence was fun and exciting, but I must leave... perhaps a visit to Cannes Resort in the near future is in order.
Finally some news!

Bonjour Orleans!
Was not quite sure what to visit around this system. Simply followed the trade lanes about, visiting stations to see if I could find any new information of what is going on in the Gallia Sector. Fort Lune, interestingly enough was hidden behind Le Favril. Curious as to which group backs the station.
Hrmm... I suppose another interesting thing I noticed was that the bars in the Gallic Sector seemed to offer way more bribes than I would often see in the Sirius Sector. Is it related to the Gallic culture?
As for visiting the gorgeous Residences, I was surprised to learn that they have been operating since 570 AS. I guess Gallians really liked making space houses look like giant empty castles.
There were two locations I had not visited due to a mine field surrounding them. First was the Evreux Research Facility, and a hostile |`|tton Annex station situated beside it.

Compared to Orleanais, it seems like Picardy is slightly more interesting. As for today's feature locations...
Hidden within a veil of asteroids and deadly mines... Calais Research Station!
The place where the greatest entertainment equipment is made.... Abbeville Production Facility.
A world that was once frigid, but defrosted by industry... Planet Ameins!
And lastly... anchored in the void governed by the Council... Saint Quentin Space Colony!
I would like to mention this, but I believe it would be foolish to say that the La Fere Wreck to be nice to visit as you will likely be be attacked by both Maquis and Gallic Brigands. Proceed there at your own risk!
Well, those were the most interesting locations I've seen so far. As for news reports, I think this system suffers the same problem throughout the Gallic and Sirius Sectors. Perhaps a news agency is in order!
Other noteworthy things, there seems to be a friendly asteroid miner in the De Crecy Asteroid Field, so don't be a stranger to it! If you ever visit that sector, I'm sure they would like some company.
Now, for the next level in exploration... I will be taking this jump hole I had found within the De Crecy Asteroid Field!

So... that jump hole I just went through sent me straight into a asteroid-filled blue-ish gas cloud that the Council calls the Seine Asteroid field and Nebula. It was a rather beautiful sight.
Wandering through the Nebulae, my sensors picked up a beacon from a ship named Annibal. Poked around and found a few crates of Tobacco and nothing else. Kind of strange, but hey, I have some spare cargo space and made a quick buck out of it.
Ah interesting note regarding this station I'm in. While I'm sitting here sipping on some amazing Gallic drink, I can't help be think what a shame it was for the Council to have converted this beautiful getaway luxury into a repair and retrofitting facility. Another shame that topped that was the restricted access to the Planet Marne. Oh well.
While at Reim Station, I talked with the barkeep about my adventure and spread the word of my church as I had done throughout out this journey. I shared what was left of my Liberty Ale with him in secret, lest the Gallic Authorities discovers it on my way out from Lorraine. In return, he shared some information about a jump hole I could use to get back into the Gallic Sector without alerting anyone.
I guess that is my next stop!

Finally, visited all the planets I could see and all the stations I could find.
What a journey... I suppose I should take Dorothy and Toto back beyond Kansas.
Just have to travel through the Lorraine System before I will be back on track to go home!
