OPERATION "KONGDE-RI" | MADEIRA UPGRADE PROJECT.
Premise
In the March 826 A.S., Bretonia, in their desperation on the brink of the defeat in conflict with The Kingdom of Gallia, have laid claim on the Aland Shipyard, the main ship construction facility of The Guild in the Omega region, and after almost three weeks of constant skirmishes between the contesting forces, Bretonia Armed Forces have executed operation Chrysalis, that have resulted in Bretonia occupying the shipyard and appointing Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing to operate the newly acquired installation.
This have significantly weakened the positions of The Guild in the region, and the Guildmasters had to seriously consider constructing a replacement as soon as possible: by all means, Singapore have been too far and could not cover the needs of the Guild in the Omegas.
Part I: Making the choice
The memory of the Bretonian aggression was well alive within the minds of the Guildmasters, so the main criteria for the new spaceship construction facility location was to be as distanced from any House as possible. With this in mind, Freistadt was excluded right away, it have always served as a minor outpost to faciliate the mining operations of the Guild in the area and now, situated between Rheinland and Bretonia - was an even less tenable position to begin large-scale reconstruction operations.
This have automatically left The Guild with the only option suitable for such an operation - Madeira base in Omega-47, all things considered - it had all the conditions for becoming a replacement of Aland Shipyard; Red Hessian and Sirius Coalition engineers with excessive expertise in ship and shipyard construction and maintenance and the location considered relatively more safe compared to Freistadt. The only negative side were Corsairs, but those were successfully kept away by the joint presence of Hessians and Coalition.
