Crew of The Gremlyn:
Captain: Rashida. Age: 23. Height: Slightly over 5 foot. Hair: Naturally black, usually dyed. Eyes: Brown.
Rashida's outward appearance is as varying and eclectic as her tastes. She is fairly slight, with hair that reaches her waist when loose. Easily exitable, she adores new things, be they places, people, objects or sounds. She cannot stand killing or violence, hence her decision to identify as a Zoner, and will not permit her crew to open fire on any targets unless the safety of the ship is threatened. She also has a strong dislike for authority in any form, believing in the individual's freedom over the common good.
Of unknown origin, Rashida's first memories (not that she discusses her past much, preferring to live in the present) are of living on Freeport 6, surviving through a mix of petty theft and small-time jobs, with no knowledge of any parents. Her only contact at this time was Jessie (see profile below), and the two of them nutured a strong friendship, working together to feed themselves. She always longed to travel the stars, to experince new people and places. On her 18th birthday, a mysterious benefactor gave her a large sum of money (several million credits). To this day, she has not discovered said benefactor's identity. This sum she used to buy a Camara freighter from one of the many merchants that frequent Freeport 6. From then on, she began travelling all over Sirius, constantly on the lookout for more experiences.
Navigator: Jessie Edwards. Age: 25. Height: Just under 6'. Hair: White. Eyes: Ice-Blue.
Jessie is the closest friend Rashida has ever had. The two of them grew up together on Freeport 6, supporting each other in any way they could. Jessie does not speak much about her parents or family, merely muttering something about Outcasts. Always focused, Jessie is the calm in the storm that is The Gremlyn's bridge. Thanks' to her ability to remain calm no matter the situation, she has managed to get the ship out of bad spots more than once, and is well-respectd among the crew for her abilities.
A striking figure with her flowing white hair (always worn loose), clear blue eyes and pale skin, she exudes an aura of otherworldliness, which is only accentuated by the pure white, floor-length robes she favours.
Helmsman: Derkylos. Age: 38. Height: 5'9". Hair: Brown. Eyes: Blue-Green.
Derkylos origionates from Liberty. Son of Universal employees, he often flew alongside his parents on trade runs. One fateful day, the family's Rhino was rear-ended by a DSE train while leaving a trade lane. His parents were killed instantly as the ship broke up. Derkylos, who had been checking on the cargo at the time, managed to seal off the cargo hold from inside and survived for a few days before an inquisitive junker came across the wreckage and retrieved the entire cargo hold. Returning home, he filed an official complaint to DSE, but it was dismissed as an "industrial accident", and no matter how hard he pushed, he could get nothing out of the company. Disheartened, and his life in ruins, he collected what he could from his parents' savings accounts, took their Eagle and headed out to Kepler in an attempt to start anew.
After some time spent wandering Kusari, doing small-time trade routes, and building strong friendships with some of the Zoners on Ames, he managed to negociate the purchase of a Kusari Explorer class gunboat from the GMG, which he crewed with those he had met on Ames and began conducting exploration into the farthest reaches of Sirius. A rich and influential group of scientists from Gran Canaria, led by Winston Robertson (see below), caught wind of his activities, and cut a deal with the wanderer to use his ship as a mobile research lab in the outer systems. Later, his piloting skills would be recognised and put to good use on the bridge of the Gremlyn.
A pretty decent pilot, Derkylos is very conscious that there are a lot of nasty things out in the galaxy wanting to kill him. As such, hes preferred response to danger is to turn the ship around and get away before anything bad happens. This fits fine with Rashida's own attitude towards combat, so the two tend to get on well. A slovenly type, Derkylos is often drunk, or at least slightly tipsy, which tends to hamper his piloting ability, fortunately, most of the ship's travelling is done in autopilot.
Weapons Officer: Bobby. Age: 26. Height: 7' at least. Hair: Black. Eyes: Brown.
Bobby was one of those people befriended by Derkylos during his time on Ames. A tall, muscled man, he strikes an imposing figure. However, he shares with most of the crew a strong dislike for the use of violence. He rarely speaks, and when he does, it is usually with the minimum of words. His deferrence towards Rashida's authority often annoys her, due to her disrespect for authority in any form, but he seems unaware of this conflict of interests, and is tolerated by his captain. He wears simple clothes that allow easy movement, and is rarely seen without at least one item from his collection of weaponry.
Electronics Technician: Jake. Age: 32. Height: 5'8". Hair: Blonde. Eyes: Blue.
Another close friend of Derkylos, Jake also has a good working relationship with Bobby, being a gun nut himself. When at his assigned station (most of the time, actually...), he can be found either in the ship's weapons locker or on the firing range that Rashida had installed for him. Of average build, Jake is fairly negligent in his personal grooming, resulting in few people caring to interact socially with him. This suits his personality, as he is very much a "lone wolf", shunning company.
Diplomatic Envoy: Jeremy Pillaus. Age: 34. Height: 5'11". Hair: Brown. Eyes: Green.
A recent addition to the crew, Jeremy was a fortuitous find for Rashida, whose style of communication was not well-suited to diplomacy. While she had attempted to get Winston to cover for this, his reclusive nature meant he was not as effective as she had hoped. Thus, when she encountered Jeremy on Freeport 2, on the run from "something", and looking to get on a ship, she happily gave him a place. Well-spoken and dressed, Jeremy sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest of the eclectic crew. Then again, seeing as no one on board is what one would call..."normal", he fits right in...His previous history is mostly unknown, who or what he is running from is unknown. Rashida, however, does not care so much about this, as the fact that he can put together a decent legal document and hold his own in a debate.

When Rashida "acquired" Derkylos and his crew to supplement those she had managed to round up, she also acquired Winston Robertson and his scientific crew. This team, origionally working on Derkylos' old Explorer-class vessel, moved their setup to the Gremlyn in order to map and categorise any anomalies found during it's travels.

Winston hails from one of the universities based on Planet Cambridge in Bretonia. A conservative man, Winston is usually seen wearing his lab coat and glasses. His hair is thin and greying. He often works at strange hours of the night, except when the Gremlyn is travelling, in which case, he can be found on the bridge during each system jump, straining to see the system as soon as the jump is complete. His first priority is his scientific study, and if Rashida (as is her nature), trys to move on too soon for him, he can get very irate, usually resulting in him shutting himself away in his labs for several days, punctuated by mysterious explosions.
