Subject: Allied Tech Exchange

Greetings Crayterian Military Command,

With the ongoing war effort to defeat the Gallic scourge in the sector and the shift of the battle likely going to proceed into the Taus should Allied forces break the enemy offensive, 5th Fleet would like to propose a tech exchange to aid the Crayterian control over the Tau region. We understand both Bretonia and Crayter have interest in the Taus, however Bretonia's recent imperialist streak has left a less than favorable taste in our mouths. As such, we wish to exchange technology and lay the basis for closer relations with our other neighbors.

Our proposal is as follows: One Thanatos-class cruiser, Two Hydra-class gunboats, and five Nyx-class fighters in exchange for one Archer-class siege cruiser, two Defiant-class gunboats, and five Guardian-class fighters.

Regards,

Admiral Miles Prower

Admiral Prower,

A pleasure to hear from you once more. Trevor Westbrook, now Minister of Defense. Operation Vanguard was a considerable success, though I wish to quickly offer my condolences for the loss of the Yukon. Let's hope the future will bring justice for the lives lost during that mission.

Crayter has recently made great strides in the re-conquest of the Tau Theatre. Barra has been captured and Holman liberated, and we have our sights set on securing the rest of the system and garrisoning our strength for the inevitable Royalist counter-attack. Sabah has been fielding ships to the Hades to tighten this grip, though versatility and a technological edge would certainly assist in those regards. Consider your exchange request granted, and Fifth Fleet the proud operators of eight of CDI's best vessels.

I'll notify Sabah control and have CFV Cybele and her escort squadron prepped and ready for transfer. Make good use of them, Admiral.

For those we left behind.

Minister Westbrook,

My apologies for the extended delay however I'm certain you're aware of the circumstances, the Gallic thrust towards Planet New London. LSC-879 alongside two Defiant gunboats and five Guardian fighters have been readied for transport and should have departing for their transfer to you at Yuma shortly.

Admiral Prower,

We've received the vessels in question, and are beginning refits for their service with the military. As these vessels are foreign technology on both ends of this exchange, I would like request and offer an exchange of engineering expertise to oversee the fluid operation of these vessels as well. Crayter technology, while intuitive, can be ineffective when handled by forces outside the Republic, especially in the case of the 'Thanatos'-class cruiser we've dispatched as part of this exchange. On the other side, Liberty technology is foreign to us, and outside of former officers of the Liberty Navy like myself many of our people wouldn't know how to operate a Guardian, much less fly it.
This will allow for the fluid operation of each vessel in this exchange, and offer a better show of the true capabilities of these ships. Believe me, the 'Thanatos'-class cruiser is a beauty to command when she's operating at peak efficiency.

I will await your response.

For those we left behind.

Greetings,

I have disbatched some engineers to assist you in utilizing the equipment in full effectiveness. This team should arrived within the next couple fo days, and will notify Military forces upon entry to Coronado. As well to assist in training to use this equipment, a small team of volunteer instructors will be arriving in the same shuttle. Hopefully this will allow for you to operate our vessels at peak efficiency.

Greetings,

It's been some time since we have last spoken. During this time despite the brief exchange of engineers we've run into some issue with maintaining and operating the Crayterian warships. No doubt I'm sure you've run into this issue aswell. However given that the situation has changed and Crayter is once more at war while the slow wheels of bureaucracy take their sweet time, 5th is seeking indirect methods at assisting Crayter in it's war.

I see a potential way to take down two birds with one stone. Naturally with war having broken out the shipments of vital goods and arms have been increasing to Crayter ports for necessary use. But we would like to present a proposal. To expand the scope of technological exchange between the 5th Fleet and Crayter Republic, we would like to provide full assistance in warship manufacturing. At this time our own shipyard has free drydocks and we would like to fill them.

We see this as firstly providing the same sort of deal Bretonia got on a different scale. Modified, more automated versions of our own warships to accompany Crayters lesser available manpower to crew these vessels. On top of that we would provide additional manufacturing for Crayterian vessels in our yards. As resources and equipment are scarce in your current predicament, we would propose a seperate form of payment. Separate from Crayter destined warships, a number of these Crayterian vessels we would add to our own arsenal, modified and constructed under supervision from Crayter engineers. These models would contain the primary hull and functions of your warships, but internals compatible with our own technology. Naturally the ships we construct of our origin will be modified to your needs.

What do you think? Would this suffice, or would you like to modify this plan?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Admiral Prower,

I apologize for keeping you waiting. Developments in the Tau systems, as well as coordinating a nation once more in a state of war, though not officially mind you, has taken much of my available time. With the Military now preparing for conflict, I can provide you with a response, one I think we'll both agree on.

I've looked over your proposal, and I can agree that this deal is very favorable for both sides. The expansion of mooring yards will allow for our forces to combat the Kusari Naval Forces with greater interval than Sabah can. Prestigious as she may be, her yards just do not have the capability to output the forces we would need to even begin to counter full House fleets such as the ones that now bear down on Crayterian and Gallic doorsteps. With this, we would surely be able to offer a counter to the admittedly more advanced ships that face our aging hulls.

I'm sure the Crayter Military will also relish the support of Liberty in our struggle. Many of our people consider Liberty a great friend, and fielding Naval warships will certainly give many of our people a spirit we likely haven't seen since the original flight from Tau-44. Crayterian designs under Naval control are well within acceptable limits, as many of CDI's designs are already on the public Crayter market. While heavier assets are usually off the shelves, this exception can obviously be made for an ally, especially one making offers like yours.

In short Admiral, we'll gratefully accept your offer, and I'll have Intersun provide a pass towards New York carrying engineers for the beginning of this effort. Intersun will in turn provide a rather relaxed trip back to Crayter space, a pleasantry I hope will reflect the attitude we hope to show to our allies in Liberty.

If there is nothing else, then I will begin to plan the Aurum's voyage to Liberty for the transfer.

For those we left behind.

Greetings,

I'm glad things have come to an accord. In New York we'll bring your engineers aboard our own vessels and brought to our headquarters. I cannot share the exact location as this time due to security still maintained in the area, however rest assured your engineers will arrive comfortably. Construction of additional warships is slated to begin shortly after their arrival and list of materials received by our dockmasters. We'll be sure to inform you as soon as vessels are completed and preparing to be shipped to Sabah for transfer to Crayterian command. I will note that to help press these vessels into service faster, we will be performing the shakedown cruise and live fire testing here before shipping them out, so they may be pressed into service as soon as they arrive.

Furthermore for a tactical analysis, I would recommend to continue a defensive pattern until enough ships are produced to provide bolstering to your fleet power. I understand that the Dreadnought Basilica has left the system but left behind a contingent of it's force. Where this dreadnought has gone is beyond me at this time but not a concern, the detachment left behind is more of a concern. We're engaged with talks at this time to spare a strikeforce to eliminate this contingent and secure the Coronado system completely, wiping out Outcast influence from the corners it hides in.

We'll be in touch as things develop, but if anything sudden occurs, let us know so we may react accordingly.
