Greetings fellow residents of Sirius,
Whether we would like to admit it or not, today's culture is one of war, of drugs, of crime, and of oppression.
All technological advancements in recent history have been dedicated, with only minor exceptions, to creating weapons with a greater degree of lethality at the expense of innovations that could prevent famine, provide homes, and create high-paying jobs for millions of the struggling poor.
The free-market ideals which our ancestors struggled to uphold have given way to embargoes, protectionism, and over-regulation.
We have forgotten our common history, our common struggles, and our common achievements.
It is on this note that I establish the Sirius Education Commission.
To encourage the acquisition of knowledge and edification what we already know, the SEC will post questions on topics on a wide range of topics. You may answer each of the questions only once; be sure to include a name to which we can forward the funds should your answer be correct.
We will award a 5 million credit scholarship for the first answer that is both correct and well-explained for each question. Questions expire at least one week after posting if no valid answer is received.
Current Questions:
<strike>Theology: According to the Bible, where will God's final residence be in relation to His people? (Hint: Look towards the end)
Biology: Where does the bulk of the mass of a typical tree (under Earth-like conditions) come from? Through which process is this material incorporated into the tree?</strike>
Economics: In the financial market, what affect does an increase in the domestic money supply have on domestic interest rates? Explain using a diagram.
<strike>Current Events: Which Corsair Elder recently cut out the GMG from the Artifact trade through his negotiations aboard the Hawaii?</strike>
Good luck.
