Captain Miyazaki of the Fuyuzora met up with Cyrene Amato after overseeing the unloading of her cargo on the docks of Malta. Now she sat on a terras in the Maltese sun, observing the woman who had contacted her earlier. They sat at a distance from the other people, promising absolute privacy in their conversation.

"Greetings senora Amato" She made a polite nod to her. "What topic would you like to discuss with me?"

Cyrene Amato had previously only contact with the Gen'an Cell over comms, now they finally met under the maltese sun. She was waiting for the kusarian woman to approach her.

“Buenos Dias Miyazaki-san. She returned the polite nod. Si, I wanted to talk with about something without prying ears. As you are aware, your cell is one of our most trustworthy allies and the kusarian market is also of importance. The board of directors tasked me with contacting you and inquiring if the Gen'an would be interested in a diplomatic exchange? Where are my manners, do you want something to drink?“
She folded her hands under the table awaiting her responses.

"I will have some tea laced with cardamine please." She waited for her drink, until they were alone again before she resumed the conversation.

"A diplomatic exchange you say? I am as close to an ambassador as the golden chrysanthemums have right now. My role as a cardamine transport captain frequently brings me to Malta, where I am stationed. It is nice to hear that Malta values our alliance as highly as we do. A diplomatic exchange will surely contribute to this."

Cyrene had also ordered a tea laced with Cardamine. Before she started to speak again, she took a sip from her cardamine tea.

“Si, the board of directors is aware of your frequent visits to Malta, that's why they decided that I should contact you for that matter. We value our alliance with you very much, you are a competent and reliable business partner. I think a diplomatic exchange will only make our bonds even stronger. And maybe create new possibilities for both our parties.“

Rin nodded and took a sip of her cardamine tea herself

"And how does board envision such an exchange? What will its purpose be? Normally our leadership contacts the Maltese factions directly."

She wiped a strand of hair that had fallen into her face behind her ear before answering the question.

“They thought about having me as your permanent contact person in Kusari and you as the main contact for our kusari matters. We would offer you personal quarters onboard our station Estramadura, with that there would always be a contact person for each party present. If we can make our processes leaner and faster, that's good for both parties. What do you think?“
She smiled at her, awaiting her answer.

"That would be an interesting proposition, but I must warn you, that I am often on the move as captain of my transport vessel. The Estremadura is close to Malta however and a good place, close to Malta to reside at, while I am in Maltese space. I am not in the position to make such decissions, but I think the Sisterhood would welcome an ambassador of Malta."

“I see. So who would be the person who can decide that such matters? That's understandable, you are doing an important duty for your cell and the orange dream. I work mostly on diplomatic topics, so my residence quite often changes, depending on where I'm needed.“

"The Matriarch has the final in such decisions. I have a fair autonomy, but I would have to confirm this with her. However I know she was considering such options in the past and Kinkaku-ji is going to have a specialised section for allied diplomats in the future. Until that time, you would have to reside in the general living quarters until it is finished. I personally would have no problem being your counterpart for the Golden Chrysanthemums"

“Si si, that was expected. I'm to an extent the same position as you are. That's interesting to hear, so there will be more diplomats than just me in the future..“
She looked away from Miyazaki for a moment thinking about something.
“I don't have a problem with residing in general living quarters for now. From your words, I guess you have bigger plans for Kinkaku-ji?“
