Mel chuckles and nods, as if enjoying the new colder tone En was displaying now. She smiles at En, lightening her tone again.

"I wouldn't call it a coalition, we more have a lot of friends in the area who would happily assist in the removal of the Cuatroce should the want to keep on their barbaric ways. I doubt should we need allies, Kusari, Crayter and many other forces would gladly help us push back. That said... I want to see how things ultimately play out within the system before anything happens. There's still a lot left in the air."

Mel shrugs, not really sure how to carry on for a minute. She then asks En as solemnly as she can.

"So, what would your perfect vision be? Because... I still don't know if their threat about us pulling out of Tau 37 is serious or not."

Mel looks at her, something in her eyes clearly shows that she's interested in what En would have to say next.
Loyola's face start grimacing once she hard that question. Then her sound would sound like she feels incredibly lazy right now.

"Well, you do understand that even in worst-case scenario this is just another local conflict that is having a high chance to go for low-intensity phase rather sooner than later. At the end of the day, it won't change a lot. At least I doubt it. I had very strong feelings for Malta, but I've suffered some massive betrayals and slowly I was disappointed in them. You know, it's somehow similar to a feeling of having a traitorous child. I cared for them, did a lot of them, but it ends up with the knife in my back.

I don't know about the outcome. Maltese defeat in local war may shake their isolationism and self-reliance. Because the victories against CR were, to be honest, quite simple. And people don't usually change their worldview unless something bad happens to them. "

Mel pauses for a moment and chuckles, obviously not wanting to give anything away.

"En, I'll be honest, with the way Bretonia anexed Gran Canaria, then almost started a war with the Zoner population there... I doubt we'd have to go far to call our allies to stop the same thing happening again. And the reason most of us no longer live in the houses is because of the oppresion that the Maltese are now imposing."

Mel sighs, her voice obviously now switched to a sadder tone.

"I just don't like the idea of my people being bossed around, and above all threatened. I want to let it go, but if someone was to do the same to you and your people... I doubt you'd respond in kind. Either way, for now, I only have specialist reconnaisamce in the system, mostly to monitor the Freeport and ensure that the rules are upheld as well as the agreement. Beyond that, I see no reason to acknowledge the current powers that be in Malta. You speak of betrayals, mind if I ask?"

Mel looks at her, obviously trying to understand more about En as a person more than a business partner of sorts.

"Loyola. Malta. Traitor. Yep, those three sound together again. Well, no current rulers of Malta have betrayed me. Maybe Ezio at some point, but he was all over the place and always will be. Do you want to know something in particular? You know, I don't quite want to tell you the whole story of my life."
