The Commonwealth Legion

Overview

The Commonwealth Legion is the reformed Hellfire Legion. After just handing over a portion of its capital assets to "allies" who then turned around and neglected its needs, the Hellfire Legion of old folded in on itself, allowing the nominally civilian government to wrest control of the formerly stratocratic state from its "Lord" Commander.

The new civilian government and their loyalists took one look at the renegades and deserters that comprised the Legion's allies and came to one conclusion: They had to go.

The Commonwealth Legion has been quick to sever ties both to Battlegroup Auxesia and the Outcasts.

Stated Goals

  • Overthrow the Republic of Liberty and institute a decentralized socialist state.
  • Eject the Gallic/Maltese menace from Liberty's borders.
  • Legitimize the government towards foreign corporations.

Covert Goals

  • Rekindle ties with the Unioners.

Interesting concept, though I would like to note that the Ravager is still a Legion asset.
Looking forward to seeing what you do. Will be sure to keep my peeps on alert.
Hi there,

Looking good.

There wasn't much actual fighting due to a lack of activity, but RPly speaking, Natio Octavarium and the Lane Hackers were at war with the Hellfire Legion. Do you intend to continue that conflict, or try to seek a resolution?

Interesting to see a lefion faction hostile to Harmony. Wonder how itll mix with [HF]s dealings with us. Look forward to seeing you in action, and may we all enjoy the activity from our interaction.
I honestly think the Commonwealth is the weakest part of HF, and an HF revival could benefit more from dropping it and returning to the faction's roots. Granted that's not your concept, but it's just my two cents.
Extremely interesting. Let us know if there's any way we can help.
I don't mean to pick apart the posting but I can't help but have questions. Mostly stemming from this appearing to be a "progression" of established elements. Don't take anything here as being intended to "shut down" this idea, but rather just trying to either understand it better or provide some clarity where it may be needed.

Quote:>allowing the nominally civilian government to wrest control of the formerly stratocratic state from its "Lord" Commander.
This seems to be mixing things in a bad way. Primarily, there is no "stratocratic state" to "wrest control of". That said, the civilian government already had control of itself.

Without a doubt, Hellfire Legion is indeed hostile to Gallic Royals. Though, with regard to Harmony, there hasn't been an RPable interaction showing them being aligned with Gallic Royals. Basically, you don't know what you don't know and, personally, I try to stay within that boundary.

Quote:>Stabiline-using Maltese
In what way is this a negative trait for it to be viewed negatively?

Quote:>stolen property (i.e. The Abaddon, the Ravager)
Not even sure where to start here between the Abaddon's fate being left to the Legion by the very Commonwealth you're aiming to represent... or the Ravager being definitely under the control of Legion / Commonwealth and there even being active RP to get the damned thing fixed up and even updated. (by that terrible Stabiline-using Republic of Malta menace)
I think what they're trying to do, Raisu, is create an aggressively pro-civilian (I.E: Not military establishment, but armed). variant of the Legion. That's consistent in everything they're trying to do there.
I did just notice the bit about "Gallic collaborators" and I'm curious how you'd prove this indeed. Any interaction with the then Royal Navy was covert and unhindered by outside forces, and the official story behind our wrecked Gallic destroyer was it was destroyed in action and captured after it drifted into the nearby asteroid fields. So, in essence, you really can't physically prove any collaboration as you claim.
