To whomever it may concern:

This morning, one of our RZ-200's came to me with a priority message. It reported an encounter with some of your... workers. Apparently it was asked to forward some randomly picked commodities in order to reach out to me, you succeeded. I was looking through the logs of the android and saw that you were hinting towards- and talking about business between FuTech and your organization. You made a good attempt at hiding what that cooperation is supposed to look like but considering our field of expertise, I assume you want some of our androids. Now, before I start to talk about this any further, I would like to hear what exactly it is that you want.

"A well-chosen name, executive. We are workers."

"We may not have an employer anymore, but we recognise the industry. Not that we are fond of automation for automation's sake. CEOs have been trying to replace living men and women with wetware robots for over a thousand years now. A robot cannot be paid, but they cannot improvise. Ah... I assume I can't change your mind."

"Many of our people live and work in space. From EVA assembly droids to simple rockdigger units for hollowing out asteroids, there are some jobs that even a Unioner would prefer not to do by hand. People like to keep their hands. Nor would we be very good Unionists if we delivered an unsafe working enviroment. The irony being what it is."

"The Union would be interested in four hundred of your werehouse droids. You do not need to provide them with their synthetic skin beyond the base protective model. The intention is to make working conditions safer for our Human unionists, and closely emulating humanity would not be helpful in that matter. You will see little danger of the public ever catching wind of this purchase."

"If the droids perform as expected without sabotage, you may expect more... specialist... contracts in the future."

In solidarity, in peace, I remain yours.

Mr. Lattke:

FuTech is keeping its efforts up to pursue its own goals without gaining the particularly unpleasant attention from the government. We can not and will not start cooperations with criminals. We would be putting our necks on the line and eliminate our chance to change the way we live with each other for the better. A risk, we will not dare to take.
