Parisian Assembly, Confederacy of Gallia

Adressed to : Marine nationale gauloise, all personnel

The transmission opens. The new, sober Suffren stands in full view of the camera. What he lost in regal pomposity and attire, he gained in intensity.

Men and women of the Marine,

I am Henri-François de Suffren, chancellor of the Gallic Confederacy. In short, I speak for the people who now pay for your wages and your ships, and as such, are your superiors.
Yes ! Change. That's what I've come to talk to you about.

I know you've all been lost in a sea of transformations over the past months. Some of you have lost their homes, their families, their lives to the war and its conclusion. I'm no stranger to these changes, as I stand before you, feeling naked as a newborn in this new world of... Equality (the word clearly hurts). But with change, comes hope. New horizons, new institutions, new prospects... And in your case, new names, new operating procedures... And new superiors.

Effective immediately, by decree of the Parisian Assembly, the Marine nationale gauloise is now lead by Jean-Paul Macron, whom we hereby release of his political service. He is reinstated at the rank of Amiral de Gaule, replacing Isabelle Montlaville de Chanteloup in this function. Contre-amiral d'Argenlieu is therefore no longer the chief of staff of the Marine nationale.
Macron will be seconded by Everett Fontaine, whom we promote to Amiral for his long standing service and devotion to the Marine. His title of Chambellan, now obsolete, is hereby revoked. He is now the Haut-Commissaire de la Confédération, and his task remains ; to ensure the loyalty of his troops to Gallia and her new shape, and to weed out radicals of one side or the other and put them back on the right path. Amiral Guillory is not dismissed however and may take the position of his choosing.

You will listen to them as you have in the past, and you will ensure that their directives are met with precision and valour.
We are instructing the Marine nationale with a simple mandate : protect Gallia's integrity against any and all threats, by every means at your disposal.
Though the once fearsome Marine royale had to retreat in a terrible shape, though our former brothers and sisters ambushed the return fleet and inflicted considerable damage upon it, Sirius must not imagine for one second that Gallia has lost a fragment of its fighting spirit or capabilities. Be vigilant, proud and valorous at all times.

Here are our wishes for the following months.

- The Maltese should be your top priority. Their intrusion in Gallic society is not acceptable. Should you let them have their way, they will enslave our youth in short order thanks to that hideous, contre-nature poison of theirs. To safeguard our borders, it is requested that the Marine establish a buffer zone between Gallia's territory and Maltese outreaches. Omicron Tau, hereby renamed Gascogne, must become that buffer zone. Establish a foothold there and protect it.

- The AuTauroute is perhaps not as vital to us as it once was. Still, it is a critical highway that has tremendous economic importance. Make it clear to everyone in that area that Gallia has a stake in this region that it will not relinquish that easily. If Crayter proves too annoying, shoot them. If the IMG demonstrates hostility, shoot them. If Bretonia gets in your hair, report it to the Confederacy but do not engage.

- Kusari has likely observed our shift in power with much interest. They are likely to try and gain advantage of our new situation. Do not let them. Seek opportunities of taking advantage of them, instead.

- Bretonia is busy and is likely to remain busy for years to come. They're likely very angry at us still, and are presently venting their frustration on the ancient enemy, the Coalition. You are to leave them be. They were never the core target of our invasion and the extreme violence inflicted upon them is a shameful thing and a regret we shall carry for decades. Still, don't let them imagine for a second that we owe them anything more than what was agreed upon during our peace talks.

- Liberty is the obese, gaping maw it has always been, slathered in the blood and sweat of every people it interacts with. Displaying, as ever, the intellect and refinement of a massive boulder-shaped turd, Liberty has elected not to attend the Leviathan peace conference, meaning we're still technically at war. Still, there is no time to waste on the decadent bloated monster ; ignore them and watch them self-destruct. More opportunities will come, later.

- Rheinland has esconsced itself in a traditional dramatic introspection once again, as is their way. Leave them be until they have completed this new round of tears-ridden navel gazing. Once they emerge from this slumber, they'll likely be hungry. Exploit that hunger to refill our coffers. Keep a close watch on Zurich. It is a joint ownership, and it must remain that way, no less.

- The peasants, renegades, militants and assorted unwashed brutes and idealists of the galaxy do not concern us any more than they once did. They are to be let in our borders if they so choose, but working and trading in Gallia will still be subject to taxation.

- Assassinate every self-declared Enclave member you come across. We have reached out to them, attempted to turn them away from their unending blood thirst and their demented lust for revenge, but we have failed. And it has cost us dearly, as they exploited our candor to shoot us in the backs. They've had their chance, and have chosen their side. There is no coming back for these terrorists, who have declared themselves an existential threat to us. Deal with them accordingly, even if you have to fight alongside Bretonians to do so.

There is much for you to do. Organise yourselves, mount operations in the traditional Marine fashion, accomplish your objectives and protect your homes as we should have done all these years ago. Perhaps the fate of the galaxy is no longer at stake, but something far more important is, nowadays : Gallia.

Bonne chance.

The feed fades out.

Cordialement,
Henri-François Maximilien René de Suffren, Chancelier de la Confédération
Assemblée de Paris, Confédération gauloise
