It is in times of despair and loss, we show our true colours, in times of madness and terror, we reveal who we are and what we are capable of. In such times, it has often been said that evil triumphs, or at least prevails. A great shadow has fallen upon Rheinland, it is in these times our colours are unfurled. We must forever strive to be above the pettiness and callousness that permeated the Republic. We must strive to be better, even though that choice may be the most difficult and most unappreciated road taken.

It is to be understood that not every man or woman will rally behind us, it is to be understood that human nature being what it is will inevitably lead to causalities. If the remaining Federal Forces will not stand aside with grace, then conflict is inevitable, but we must remember that there will be those who wish to be left in peace, and we must remember that there is no shame in that. The Empire will not inflict unnecessary misery upon the people of Rheinland, nor will we persecute those who do not take up arms against us. We must remember this, lest we fall into utter ruin like the Republic before us. Honour is not gained by wanton slaughter and wholesale murder of entire populations.

We will not become what we seek to destroy.
