As you may or may not be aware, the system of Cologne has fallen to a major Red Hessian incursion. Given the system's importance as a major trade link between us, we believe that this issue concerns you as much as it does us. Our forces could launch a campaign to retake the system, but we should like to inquire into the possibility of a joint operation, which might be a chance for both our people to forge a bond in the fires of conflict.

If you have no interest in this then we ask only that you keep us informed of the situation from your side. The Red Hessians are not a blight we would wish on anyone.

In addition, we wish to take this opportunity to formally invite the Confederacy of Gallia to re-establish it's embassy on New Berlin if it has not already done so.

Kind Regards

Elise Adelheid,
Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Minister Adelheid,

The Governement of Gallia is well aware of the recent events that occured in Cologne. Since the beginning of your civil war, the Parisian Assembly has kept a distant but watchful eye to the situation.

However, it appears that the situation grew dire, and the advance of the Red Hessians in Cologne threatened the new the trans-Zurich corridor which is a blow for both Gallic and Rheinland business. While this project has been supported by the Federal Rheinland, we believe the Imperial wants to keep operational this super-highway between southern Gallia and Rheinland's rich resources.

The Red Hessians haven't expressed a great hostility towards our Gallic ships, yet it shouldn't last long before great tensions appear. Nevertheless it is very likely they aren't going to ensure the safety of our transports going to Rheinland through Zurich corridor. That is why the Parisian Assembly ordered to deploy a full fleet to Zurich system in order to safeguard critical Gallic infrastructure as well as our Gallic ships.

You understand the great concern of Gallia in the Cologne's matter. Any help to solve it as fast as possible is highly appreciated.

In regards to the new establishement of the Gallic embassy, the Parisian Assembly decided to hold this project for now, till the situation evolves. Please understand our concerns.

Sincèrement.

Nathan de Montfort
Speaker of the Parisian Assembly

We are aware of the whispers of violent skirmishes all over; and the mentions of civil war all over our space, it is important to note this is not necessarily correct. While we are aware there are pockets of people who seek to cause death and destruction, specifically the Hessians and supporters of the former government, we have managed to secure and bring peace to a large portion of Rheinland.

However, in regards to the situation regarding the Red Hessians in Cologne, we have been watching this closely and with great interest. While we are aware this project was initially was supported by the Federal Rheinland, you are correct in your assumption that we wish to keep this super-highway between southern Gallia and Rheinland operational. It will be greatly beneficial for both of us. As the movement of your fleet to Zurich is due to the threat posed by the Red Hessians, and is to safeguard critical Gallic infrastructure and vessels located in the area, you will find no resistance from the Empire of Rheinland in regards to this. We will offer additional support where possible to assist in protecting said infrastructure and vessels passing through the region.

We respect the decision to temporarily refrain from establishing your embassies within Rheinland, I hope that in the future you are willing to trust in our capabilities to assure your safety in our space. When you feel it is suitable to address this, you will have nothing but our full support. I can assure you we have fleets in place to protect all people - and that includes your people - operating in space controlled by the Empire of Rheinland. We hope it will not be necessary, we will do what we can to assure the continued safety of all embassies in Rheinland.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Minister Adelheid,

We are most pleased to hear that any troubles your most respectable House has gone through are now under control. The Confederacy holds a firm belief that nations always fare better harvesting the fruits of peace and political stability, rather than in conflict.

To this day, the Red Hessian problem remains on the top of the Parisian Assembly's priority list. All the necessary measures to keep the peace and ensure safe passage through Cologne for both Rheinlandish and Gallic civilian ships are in force. In practice, from a tactical point of view, any troublemakers are being dealt with according to their actions and the threat they pose. We are delighted – yet not surprised – to see the Empire of Rheinland on our side in this delicate matter.

As for establishing embassies within Rheinland, I am afraid such a decision would still require our Hemicycle to host more debates. The patience and understanding you expressed are greatly appreciated.

We remain at your disposal if you want to discuss any subject.

Sincères salutations,

Françoise-Marie Lupescu
Speaker of the Parisian Assembly
