Continued construction

It had been over a month since operation "A ray of hope" had taken place in the Omicron Minor system and
the Bogue had been brought to Fort Carthage. As per the agreement made with the Fifth fleet,
the Bogue was an incomplete carrier, provided only with what the Order would be unable to produce on its own.
Fortunately for the Order, this meant that only the Crew Quarters and the Cargo Bays required construction.

In order to make sure that the carrier was provided with the best the Order had to offer,
the science teams from Damascus Research Station were granted access onboard the carrier as well as Carthage
to oversee the construction and placing of the missing components.
Their secondary objective would be to comb through the existing components and parts to ensure that everything was optimized properly.

With the Orders logistical branches already mobilized for the up-scaling of Damascus Research Station
it proved to be little extra effort to deviate some of the incoming resources to Fort Carthage for the carrier.
After a month all the required resources were finally gathered and construction begun.
The first focus was on constructing the cargo bays, this would allow storage to take place on the carrier itself and cut logistical redundancies to speed up the construction.

Installation of the Cargo Bays

Large departments of the carrier had been evacuated and sealed in preparations for the cargo bays.
"This is Admiral Xander to Fort Carthage, the Apocalypse is ready for the installation, let the repair ships know they can proceed."
Carthages reaction was swift as expected for a carefully planned endeavor: "Understood admiral, they are launching now."

Like clockwork several repair ships, including the P'tah, launched and made their way to the Apocalypse.
To properly install the cargo bays some small modifications had to be made outer hull which would compromise the atmosphere inside those areas of the ship.
The evacuations and sealing had taken place to prevent this from becoming an issue.
"This is repair ship P'tah, we're cutting her open now."

Xander flinched slightly as he saw the sparks burn into the Apocalypses hull,
doing such modifications in space was far from ideal but Fort Carthage would have
significant difficulties handling modifications of this nature of a vessel that large in its dry dock.

It took several days but eventually the cargo bay was ready for use.
The seals were removed, after a thorough inspection of the hull integrity of course, and construction could finally occur on the ship for the crews quarters.

Installation of the Crew Quarters

With the cargo bays handled and fully functioning, the next step would be setting up the crews quarters.
Fortunately this was far more 'standard practice' for the Orders engineers and thanks to the functioning cargo bays materials able to be stored on site.
The crew quarters were standard in design;
two bunk beds;
several closets;
a table;
chairs;
as well as several other basic amenities.

The real challenge was the sheer amount of crew quarters that were being constructed,
carriers proved far larger than the Osiris class vessel the Order engineers were so accustomed to.
With the majority of the spare resources from Damascus Research Station used for the cargo bays,
it ended up taking over a week before the crew quarters were finally finished.

The logistical constraints at this part of the project were inconvenient, but nothing that couldn't be handled with enough time.
With the cargo bays and crew quarters finished, the research teams from Damascus Research Station
returned to their labs to go over the data they gathered over the last two weeks,
as well as to produce the weapons that would be mounted on the Apocalypse.

Analyzed Data and Weapon Construction

Having returned from their assignment to the Apocalypse, the research teams of Damascus Research Station
carefully combed through the data they gathered on the Atlantis carrier during their stay.
The Fifth fleet seemed to have done a good job in its construction, according to the deal made.
No hostile fail safes or other forms of 'indirect sabotage' were found which was reassuring.
Similarly, no tracking or recording devices were found either.

Honestly it made sense, the whole plan had been for the ship to be blown up and go missing,
if it had a tracking device that would have been a rather short lived ruse. Satisfied with the quality of the vessel,
the research team moved on to the final part in the preparation of the Apocalypse; its weapon construction.

While several research teams had been away on assignment to the Apocalypse,
others had remained and led expeditions into the Omicrons to gather the Iridium and Azurite
required for choice special weapons that mimicked that of the Armageddon;
several Golanski's Hammers, Orillions Strikes and Hunters Marks would ensure the carrier had the required
firepower to dissuade any aggressors while providing support to its snub fleet.

Once construction had finished the weapons were loaded onto the Ba'al Bison class battletransport and shipped to Carthage in a heavily defended convoy.
The trip from Damascus to Carthage was a short and often safe one, but with weapons of this value one couldn't be too safe.

When the weapons finally arrived they were swiftly mounted on the Apocalypse, allowing final preparations for its introduction into the fleet to take place.
