In the last months, the Genesis personell has been scouting the Omicron Chi system, and looking at whatever there is useful there.
Not too long ago, Julio Gonzales, one member of the Board, on a scouting mission, has found something very interesting.
An untouched Iridium Field.

Therefore, the Board has decided to start mining operations within the Sanma Nebula.

In order to start our first phase of the mining operations within the nebula, we will first send the "Ziz" unit, a unit designed for this type of expeditions.
The Ziz will be first making themselves a way within the nebula, where they will start mapping it, and designating the easiest way to reach the Iridium deposits.
Secondly they will be extracting from the deposits, calculating from which to begin the exavation operations.
In the end, they will be leading the permanent extraction team within the nebula.

A very simple operation, that the Board considers as one that must be done ASAP.

The Ziz unit was restocking for the possible long stay in space, as nobody knew how much would this take to actually complete the mission.
Aftert rations, goods and mining equipment was loaded on the vessels, they have started to leave Livadia. Tight formations, with the transports in the middle, they were slowly proceeding towards the first of the few jumpholes, towards the Omicron Delta.
The path was pretty clear, except a few small nomad vessels, which wasn't something that couldn't be dealt with.

As soon as they reached Delta, they knew that they should stay away from the system center, as it was the place where Core and Order had their skirmishes, but luckily the jumphole towards the Omicron Zeta, is within the asteroid field, which was filled with Nomadic presence.
As they entered cruise, the Ziz team has encountered no real issues, until the Asteroid field, where there were a small nomadic force, awaiting for somebody brave enough to enter the belt.
As soon as they entered the belt, said nomadic force started engaging the vessels. Luckily, they were armored, and heavily armed, but so the were the nomads.
All small vessels, have targeted the transports, but they were keep them far with all the weapons, while the escorts were firing from behind to the nomadic forces.
After a bit, without casualties or any heavy damages, they continued their journey towards the Omicron Zeta jumphole.

When they arrived in Zeta, they were stopped by an Order patrol within the system, which offered to escort them till the Omicron Minor Jumphole.
This system was actually the most quiet as no nomads have interfered with the passing.
As they arrived to the Omicron Minor jumphole, the Order patrol returned to their duties, while the Ziz was performing the jump.

Then they reached the graveyard, Omicron Minor.
The system is a legit graveyard, from the Order, Nomad and Core war, where they destroyed eachother and Toledo, in the attempt to overcome one on the other, an attempt which has failed.
It gives chills to every pilots going there and seeing that view, which is very depressing and scary.
All the wrecks floating around, a description nobody wants to live. But unfortunately, it exists, and that should be a remembrance, of what the humans are capable of doing to eachoter, aswell as what the nomadic forces are capable of doing to humans. And that's what the Genesis stands for, to stop the nomadic advance at all costs.
But the system seemed empty. It was definetely empty, as almost no-one dared to enter it. But the voyage was smooth.
So they arrived at the Omicron Chi jumphole.

Omicron Chi.
Not the most hospitable system in the Omicrons, especially with the high presence of Artificial Intelligence vessels around the moon we spotted, Malekula. A real interesting xenoarchaeological find, which we could start studying alongside Order, as they own the installation near it.
But this wasn't the objective; the objective was to start the mining operations there.
After the jump within the system, the Ziz team re-entered in tight formation and set course to the Sanma Nebula.

The situation was quiet. No vessels found on their way towards the Nebula.
They were at cruise speed, and tracking their way in order to use it for future transportation routes, as it could be very useful for the transports. But when they thought that it was a safe way, a dozen nomad vessels appeared from nowhere.
The captains of the bigger vessels got taken by surprise, as all the group was circled by the alien vessels. So they start going all the battle mode.
Luckily shields were all up, as they needed time to prepare the weaponry in order to start responding the fire. So the battle began.
The escorts started separating in order to deal more damage to the vessels that tried to focus on the bigger ones. As it seems that the bigger vessels were their target. So in order to preserve the mining vessels, the battletransports started to draw fire on them. They were the miners' shields.
What the pilots could notice, is how tough those battletransports were, but they weren't invincible.
Slowly the nomadic force started to go down, one by one. But this time damage was caused. the transports were not in very good shape, no big breaches, but they suffered enough damage to make them think twice before fighting again; the mining vessels suffered minor hull damage, but not any type of breaches like on the transports, while the fighter wings suffered the less damage, as they were not the target of the nomadic force.
But while the engineers on the battletransports fixed the breaches, they were moving towards the Nebula, now very close to them.

As they entered the nebula, most of the breaches on the battletransports were fixed, and they finally managed to go back to cruise speed.
The visibility lowered considerably, but the scanners were still working at 75% of their full capacity, which was good enough to enter the field and to map the path they were taking for future transportation. It was however slightly scary, as anything could be watching in the nebula, from weird-crazy AI to Alien forces. So they were very cautious, to avoid any encounter as it could be fatal for the exploration team.

Not too long after exploring the nebula, they started to find asteroids, which from their scans, would contain high quantities of Iridium. So they started looking for the biggest one they could find, as it would be easier to excavate with the machines they brought there.
After a long search there, and tens of scans of the field, they finally managed to find the right asteroid to start extracting.
As they reached it, they put themselves in positions, with engines cut off, to not waste energy, and started using the tools attached to extract the raw materials from the asteroid.
As they were extracting it, they were also loading those in the battletransports to bring on Corinth, from where they would be getting transported on Ames Research Station.
The Board will be intensifying the routes, by increasing the number of miners and transporters, buy implementing here the drones aswell. This will be a new income venue for the GRG so the Board is very inclined to actually invest in it.
Scout and escort vessels will be assigned to optimize the mining operations.
