Somewhere in Sigma 17

A Samura convoy was doing thier weekly transporting, but suddenly
they picked some ships up on radar.

"What is that? I'll hail them."

"This is Samura Gold 11 to unidentified ships, identify yourselves."

The ships came into visual range, it was an Omni convoy with a Liberty Cruiser,
a 2 pair of Eagles and a big transport ship of some kind.

"This is Omni Security Cruiser escort, we are shipping cargo.... Toxic waste."

"Can I take a scan?"

"Negative."

Suddenly the Omni escorts opened fire, the Cruiser used it main gun against the
Samura convoy, blowing up the transport and some of the fighter escorts
in the blast.

One of the two Samura fighter pilots called for a nearby Samura patrol,
but they came too late, they saw the wrecks of the Samura convoy and
the Omni escorts going back into formation.

"Retreat!"

The Samura patrol turned and engaged thier cruise engines,
the Omni fighters did the same and pursued the patrol.

"Send a transmission to Kurile!"

"I can't, my radio stopped working."

The Omni fighters launched thier cruise disruptors stopping the patrol
and fired a salvos of missiles while the Samura
patrol tried to get back to cruise speed.

"Hurry! Send a message to planet Kurile."

The Samura patrol leader didn't notice that his wingmen was blown up
while he was trying to fix the microphone but then he saw everything around
him turning into bright orange light.

"Last one! Back into formation, and remember men, this never happened."

Regarding: Omni Convoy.

I just recieved a report about that one of our convoys got under attack by
Samura patrols in the Sigma system, our escorts fended off the attack and
none of the Samuras managed send any messages to thier command, so they
have no idea who killed them, they will suspect the Outcasts for the attack.

Our reporter has disappeared completely so I'm in charge here now,
I'll do the best I can, alright here's what happened today:

Omni ships sighted in the edge worlds and more attacks in Cambridge.

We just got an interview with Greg Weathers of the Omni Security Force:

Interviewer: "So Mr.Weathers, what do you have to say?"

Greg Weathers: "The main Omni Security force will now concentrate thier
ships on those little Junkers, all the others better not get in our way
and we won't be as friendly when we're escorting guys "from the top",
yeah I'm talking about Liners and we will have "heavier ships" with us in the future
because of the high crime rate in Sirius."

Interviewer: "So what is "Heavier ships"?

Greg: "Capital ships."

Interviewer: "Ok, and what were Omni ships doing in the edge worlds?"

Greg: "Can't tell you anything about that."

Interviewer: "What about Samura?"

Greg: "Oh yeah, I almost forgot, they attacked an Omni convoy in Sigma space
so our escorts shot back and destroyed the Samura ships, Omni has
declared Samura as hostiles for now."

Interviewer: "What do they say in Manhattan then? Will this affect Liberty's
relation with Kusari?"

Greg: "No, this is between Omni and Samura, we will be on high alert when we're
out there in the "edgies", espcially in the Sigmas where Samura has thier bases".

We have to take a break here, we just got a call from the Samura VP.

"This is outrageous! We thought it was the Outcasts!"

Greg: "Now you know who did it."

Interviewer: "We have to break here, there will be a debate about this."

"More news later tonight."
