Dax arrives to Zurich to secure Gallic assets on the border with Rheinland

Battleship Dax, Zurich – Even before the honourless invasion of the Gallic space by Kusari, the once young and chaotic Confederacy of Gallia had to tackle notable challenges, and one of them still remains an insoluble problem. The Cologne-Zurich corridor is the result of the great ingenuity of our technology and corporations and a great example of the Gallic finesse for reaching unknown and distant space.

However, the descent of Rheinland into a civil war one year ago has raised some eyebrows within the mighty Gallia's old guard, leading to the rapid deployment of the La Fierte battlegroup from Zurich, and later, the legendary Cassard battlegroup. The strategic and economic importance of this corridor led to extreme measures in order to re-open the vital artery connecting Gallia to Rheinland. A peacekeeping operation was already scheduled to be launched in late June 743 A.G.S but was called off due to the Kusarian invasion.

With the conclusion of the civil war in the christened by the Gallic public “the Confederacy of Rheinland”, it was no surprise the two Houses hoped for the liberation of Cologne. In a noble pursuit to secure the Gallic borders from the possible instabilities, the Seigneurs ordered the most combat-capable fleet of the Gallic Navy spearheaded by battleship “Dax'' to be deployed in Zurich. The mobilization of the fleet was carried out discreetly while the attention of the citizens was stolen by the military parade dedicated to the arrival of the mighty Conquérant to Picardy to rotate with Dax.

With the Dax having arrived to Zurich, the Gallic Union hopes such a move will send a strong message to Rheinland, the last and only valuable strategic and economic partner of Gallia after the betrayal of Kusari. While it is unknown if the Dax will openly participate in the liberation of Cologne, columns of transports of all sizes are now waiting near the Oerlikon Observatory for the re-establishment of trade routes to satisfy the growing demands for ore and raw materials, as these resources will have an essential role in the healing of the wounds left by more than twenty years of constant war on Gallia.
