The Unioners never hesitated when it came to helping a strategic ally. Especially someone as powerful and useful as the Corsairs. Approximately a month ago, The Deterrence approached the Direktorat with a project in which they plan to overhaul a Rheinland ship to achieve its full potential. Doing something like this wouldn't be a problem for the Corsairs if this was a ship of Corsair origins. Luckily for them, it was a Unioner-built ship.

After the basic information was obtained the Direktorat decided to help the Corsairs with the modification of the "Ragnar"-class Rheinland Armored Transport. The founder of the project is Captain Juan Felipe of The Deterrence.

If we were to start reconstructing the ship and its generator we would first need to get it to one of our bases. This was luckily not a problem since the Direktorat started organizing an escort expedition to Münich as soon as the contact was made.

On the 2.4. 829 A.S. a 'Hel'-class cruiser was dispatched to escort the 'Ragnar'-class transport from Münich to Pacifica Base in Bering. The mission proceeded without any complications.

"A'ight, so late in the evenin' I was dispatched to Münich with clear instructions on how to get the ship back to Bering in one piece as if I am stupid. Of course, I'll get the ship to Bering safely I'm in a f*cking Hel. There ain't anyone that could stop a Hel. But despite all that I decided to follow the instructions and took the Ragnar to Bering via the most secure route. We proceeded to Frankfurt with the use of the jump hole and the same thing goes for Thuringia.

Once we were in Thuringia we jumped to Bering where we docked the so-called CABRA on Pacifica. Everything went as planned and both the ship and mister Juan are now onboard Pacifica. Since the Deterrence is a valuable ally I've personally decided to finance the VIP room in which mister Juan is stayin'. Ain't I generous.

The engineers will start their work after the weekend in the meantime I think we should have the ship cleaned and decontaminated. God knows what filth hides under that hull. I'll attach the logs and images underneath. "

With that, the ship was parked at docking bay 4 and on Monday the Direktorat dispatched 15 Unioner engineers to inspect the ship and see what could be done in line with the Deterrence's request. Shortly after the engineers came up with a few upgrades and modifications that could drastically increase Ragnar's capabilities. They listed the following:

- Power Generator Upgrade: "The power generator seems old and very badly maintained, we could replace it with the new Y6- Type generator that we've been putting into the newer generation of freighters."
- Compatibility Software Update: "This time it isn't the component's fault. It's outdated software. With every push of a button, the ship is losing a decent amount of power because processing operations take longer than it should. This should be easy to fix but on its own won't be enough to seriously increase the power outputs."
- Gravity Field Generator: "We have no idea who built this thing but they fitted it with a seriously outdated G.F. Generator, we should replace it as soon as possible because it is consuming enormous amounts of energy causing serious overheating of everything within the chamber. We're talking about massive energy loss here. We're surprised that the generator hasn't exploded yet."

The engineers decided that these upgrades should be carried out and with that, the preparation phase was finished. Now it's time for real work.

The Ragnar-class armored transport was fitted with a relatively old engine. If the corsairs want us to maximize the power outputs on this ship we should replace it with the newer version. If the diagnostics were correct this is an X5- type generator meaning it's more than a generation older than the current ones we install on freighters. However, we aren't certain if the model of the generator has been valued at the right generation since the serial number has been removed. We don't know who did it but right now it isn't important. The Y6 is more fuel-efficient and can generate bigger amounts of energy with considerably smaller losses. However, with the newer generation generator, we will need to perform multiple changes to the entire ship for it to be the most efficient. These are the steps:

In order to get the most out of the ship's capabilities we will have to do some major upgrades in this exact order: Upgrading the generator, updating the software, and rebuilding the gravity field generator. The reason for this exact order is fairly simple if we want the gravity field generator to function correctly and not represent massive energy loss we will have to first upgrade the whole energy system. When that's done we'll be able to install fitting software that will decrease energy loss on output and with that, we will finally be able to fix that faulty gravity field generator. That being said the engineering team has decided that we will upgrade the energy generator in three steps. The required materials will be listed below:

Since we're building a Y6- type generator, this will differ from the previous X5- type in efficiency and power output in general. First, we will build the very inner layer of the generator constructing the core by using energy field generators combined with nuclear devices to develop big enough power outputs in the heart of the generator so it can even be considered a proper generator. Of course, we will use fusion diodes to regulate the nuclear reactions within the generator.

Once we're done with building the core we will build the protection layers so that we don't fry our Corsair friends with radiation as soon as they turn the ship on. We will start with the very inner layer, constructing it out of gadolinium to shield the other layers from nuclear reactions. Once that layer is done we will dress it into a coat made out of ablative armor plating which is very well known for its energy-absorbing capabilities so that energy loss will be minimalized and we will be able to dress the reactor in the final layer of superalloy which will seal the generator shut from almost any energy loss meaning that it will be approximately 10% more efficient than the current one.

With the energy outputs adjusted we will also need to re-wire the entire ship. This is easier than it sounds since we don't need to intervene with any equipment we just need to rip out the wires and install new ones. We will first build a command table next to the generator so that the output of the nuclear reactions can be adjusted properly. For that, we will require optronics. For the wires, we will need gold and platinum. Those wires will be used all around the vessel wherever they are needed. However, for the main wiring line, we will use superconductors to minimize the loss.

For the fuel, we will use Thorium MOX. It's a very efficient fuel used for powering nuclear reactions. It has been used for powering multiple generations of Unioner generators.
